    Thanks for the feedback on the -kun thing guys. I'd only ever had heard it used with men (even in the Japanese parliament I believe) but not with women so I was a bit surprised when I heard it used like this.

    One for the japanese speakers here. I'm doing my anniversary rewatch of SDFM, and I've noticed that Global addresses the female members of his crew with the honorific -kun (Hayase-kun, Claudia-kun and so on). I was under the impression that the honorific 'kun' was just used for addressing males in a position junior to oneself (or as a term of affection from a woman to a man). Is there perhaps some sort of military exception to the usage of this honorific? Or can it also be used for women in general?

    I'm doing my anniversary re-watch of SDFM. I had kind of forgotten how impressively animated and choreographed (for the time) the sequence in episode 2 is, were Minmay is rescued in mid-air by HIkaru, after his battroid had it's arm shot off. It's no wonder it's been referenced by other anime.

    Well, lets not be too gloomy. There's bound to be a 'new Macross animation sometime in the future' at some point, right?

    Just realized that the script for Psycho Pass was written by Gen Urobuchi. He's the guy who wrote the excellent Madoka, Fate Zero and Requiem for the Phantom (which I'm watching now and is not bad at all) so I'm gonna give it a try too. Anyone caught episode 15 of Muv Luv Total Eclipse? They have some nice looking mecha in this series and have the whole 'team developing a weapons platform' story going on, so despite the uneven animation and all the national stereotyping, it could be appealing for a lot of Macross fans.

    I always found 'That 70s Show' hard to watch because I always expected Red Forman to return to go into Clarence Boddicker persona and blast all the teenagers away.

    Wow. That's precisely one of the bikes with which Bradely Wiggins and Team Sky won the Tour de France. It's easily one of the most expensive road bikes you can get. LOL; Its insane that you would just go an attach a Sheryl wheel cap to it! Cool but insane.

    Been listening to this lately a lot, after more than almost decade of not listening to my Love and Rockets albums. 'Saudade' means something like 'longing' although not quite. It's difficult to translate. But this song get's it just right. Enjoy.

    Thanks for the review Gubaba. Maybe some of the themes and ideas of this show can be used for some original animation later? The unsettled, unhappy with the status quo Zentraedi is kind of present in most Macross series, but hasn't really formed the backbone of any storyline. Maybe it's something for them to consider.

    The guys who voiced the Zentraedi in this dub must have had a blast doing those voiceovers.

    Watching 'Shiki'. There's not that many good horror anime out there and I think this might be one of them. It has a nice, slow pace that build ups the tension and a big cast of characters to spread the dread around. Only thing I don't like so far is the absolutely mad haircuts many of the characters have. They have to be seen to be believed.

    BTW, some guy on ebay has been selling a substantial amount of SDFM cels. I actually bid on one with Shammy and Kim but missed out (don't have the funds ahhh). There still some left with a couple of interesting mecha.

    I suppose these special episodes might be a bit longer, otherwise they are going to leave a lot of stuff unfinished. The explanation for Naru's ears was I suppose meant to be humourous but it failed badly.

    I agree with you. I hope they can use the extra time for the last couple of episodes to look back at what they've written and plug some of those enormous plot holes.

    Sheryl Nome at an Air Show?! That is so utterly fitting. Shame those jets couldn't pull off a Gerwalk mode

    I love the Zentraedi Matryoshka dolls one. The smile on Kamujin's face is a perfect fit.
