    While the manga is not done, it’s not going to be one of those neverending deals. There’s still almost 9 months to go till the new season comes out and as it stands they have more than enough material to do a 2 cour second season. So i think what we could see is the manga ending within 2 years or so, and the second season followed by a split 13 episode cour six months or a year afterwards.

    I knew the CGI was going to be pretty low spec, but damn, even the art was bad (in an opening episode that's pretty unforgivable). And if you've read Berserk, you know that's a travesty. Why the heck doesn't a good studio like Madhouse or Ufo-Table get this? Sigh. So sad.

    I ordered the first one from AmiAmi and I'm waiting to see how they (AmiAmi) perform before preordering the others. CD Japan has served me very well in the past, but they simply cannot compete pricewise with AmiAmi. Amazon has the inconvenience that they charge the tax and vat upfront which cancels out their low price. Every now and again I can lucky with other providers in not paying tax.

    I do not think Bran will get a lot of screentime, but he will play 2 roles: 1. Unless the shows producers introduce Howland Reed in season 7, Bran is the only one in the show that knows that R+L=J At some point that’s going to become very, very relevant. That knowledge is power. Heck imagine if Littlefinger is the first one to find out that Jon Snow is not the son of Ned Stark. 2. Bran (together with Sam) will be the only ones who will have relevant intelligence pertaining the White Walkers. Bran specially, is the only one who knows about their origin. I’m less sure about Arya’s role, but I’m sure there’s going to be more deaths before she’s done. Who’s left on her list (the TV show, not the books)? As far as I can recall it’s Cersei, Melisandre, Beric Dondarrion, Thoros of Myr, and of course The Hound. is The Mountain on there too? I don’t think she’ll get to Cersei since that’s being setup to be a battle between Lannisters, but the Brotherhood guys and Melisandre are strong possibilites. I do wonder if she’ll ever be able to meetup with her family though? The wait for next season is going to kill me. I think I’m going to just watch it all over again, an episode a week.

    The expression on Jaime's face was memorable when he saw Cersei was memorable. Here is the person he loves most in the world who has performed the most evil of all actions he could imagine. The very thing that he killed his king for and which gained him universal contempt. I could see him doing a double suicide with her when things go South.

    Just watched it (was hard keeping away from this thread). Cannot agree more with what you guys are saying. GoT is the best thing on TV (well HBO's app for me ) by a mile. Gripping stuff. 2 things surprised me: One was Thommen's suicide and the relative 'lack' of impact it had on Cersei. She's either gone completely mental and lost her capacity for love or she's compartmentalizing and turning her grief into pain for others. The other was Jon actually being proclaimed 'King in the North' I didn't see that coming. I thought Littlefinger was going to put more obstacles in their way at this point. My favorite bit was Daenerys making Tyrion her Hand. That was very moving stuff. The Lannisters are in for a world of hurt. They're surrounded now by enemies (Dorne, Tyrrells, The North +Vale) and Daenery's army/navy is huge. And she has 3 dragons. To top it off, the Brotherhood is still around with an angry hound and Arya is running around with that mental checklist of hers.

    Hibiki Kanzaki of Macross II was a reporter, not a pilot. And Macross II also has a female as the badass pilot in the form of Silvie Gena.

    It seems Crunchyroll has the rights to stream Berserk. So it will be easy to get a hold of.

    Has the only 13 episodes left scenario discussed by the shows producers been confirmed by HBO? While I understand how the size of the production makes it more practical to have shorter seasons, there are so many storylines left that I have a hard time seeing how they can hack it down to size in 13 episodes.

    I do not think for a minute that her plan was to eliminate Jon and his his forces. She hasn't gone to the "dark side" if you allow the term. She's simply learnt in the flesh the dangers of doing the 'right thing'. While she couldn't have foreseen Jon charging in like he did, she did expect Ramsay to come up with something devious and cunning. Calling in Littlefinger and his force was the only way to ensure victory. Of course now there will be consequences. Littlefinger does not do anything for free and she will have to pay a price.

    I think the reason why the "heroes" are finally surviving instead of dying at every turn, is that there is finally that ruthlessness that was missing from many them. In the specific case of Sansa, she finally threw out the Stark playbook (which was the most surefire way to get you killed in Westeros) and used guile and subterfuge to win. And she was absolutely ruthless when it came to accepting that Rickon was good as dead in the hands of Ramsay. Which proved to be the case.

    It only gets better. Enjoy the watch! thinking of doing a rewatch myself at some point in the fall. Started watching Tekkaman Blade. Been told it's decent enough. First episode was ok, reminded me of Votoms for some reason.

    The battle made for some uncomfortable viewing. That was one gruesome and violent spectacle. Much more graphic than the other battles we've seen. The biggest takeaway from me this episode is the wedge that's been driven between Jon and Sansa. She didn't tell him about the Knights of the Vale and there will be a price to pay for Littlefinger's assistance. Moreover Sansa will be a lot more confident and will probably doubt Jon and his leadership. Specially after how he handled so poorly his forces in battle (sorry guys, he simply let his men down by storming like that). She is now the head of House Stark (until Bran shows up at least). This episode certainly seemed to have a message of empowering the female characters. The Khalesi, Yara, Sansa, all making better decisions than the men that surround them. Look to seeing Cersei raising all kinds of hell in the season finale too. This was plenty foreshadowed so I don't consider it lazy writing at all. It was obvious that the Knights were going to come and save the day. And a talented fighting lot they are.
