Only know Happy Days by reputation but I suppose it qualifies.... Let's hope they gon't any remake ideas with than one!

Since I'm sort of finished with the Patlabor series for the moment, I've just started watching Legend of Galactic Heroes; Spiral Labyrinth. So far so good. It follows pretty much the same formula as LOGH and since its a prequel, there's a lot of characters from the original running around. I don't expect to be anything as good as the original series, but then again, very few anime are on that level.

Just imagine Hollywood taking on Great Teacher Onizuka... Shivers...

I'm sure the 7,8 digit numbered check he received for this movie removed any misgivings he might have had...

Hurrah, Freifugl has started the ball rolling on episode 8. Nice writeup and thanks for posting these Mylene pics. I have to confess that before it was mentioned here, I had'nt really made the whole Asuka/Mylene/Sheryl sundress connection... Just a couple of things I noticed... Something that struck me about this episode is how Gamlin is already changing from what we've seen in some of the earlier episodes. I remember how we were commenting on his fierce intensity (someone wrote that he reminded them of the De Niro character in Taxi Driver). Whereas in this episode we can see that Gamlin seems somewhat tentative and insecure, at least where his relationship with Mylene is concerned. And we finally get to hear Veffidas' voice. I remember the first time I saw M7 how much it struck me to hear her. I had kind of formed the opinion that she was mute and wasn't meant to speak. And not only does she speak but it turns out that she's got quite a keen insight into her fellow Fire Bombers. Or at the very least she understands Basara and tries to help Mylene in dealing with him. Honey's dislike of Fire Bomber's sound and his later sale of their masters tapes to Akiko, reminded me of the famous decision of a certain Decca Records producer called Dick Rowe who in 1961 refused to sign a group of 4 young musicians from Liverpool. Finally, this was the first of the M7 episodes that had an encore: a wonderful acoustic rendition of Totsukegi Love Heart. I don't know much of Basara's official biography, but it seems to me that during the course of this clip, he's on Earth, isn't he? I mean the way people are dressed and some fo the scenery indicate that Basara travelled through South America (Peru, Bolivia perhaps) in his youth. And is Basara's finding of his trademark glasses a metaphor for finding his mission in life or what??

Well I suppose if you think for example, about the Evangelion manga, has been going on since 1995...The last volume has been in waiting, what...2 years??

Just finished watching Patlabor 2. Enjoyed it immensely just like I did with the first one. I did however miss a bit of the sense of humour that makes the OVA so special. Watching the character of Shinobu Nagamo, I can't help but feeling that her some of elements of her character were later to influence the Major's character in Ghost in the Shell.

At the very least she would get so pissed at how things are managed over there, that after a couple of days a "Closed Space" would suddenly surround HG and the Robotech team....And engulf them forever!!

Seto, you seem to be scaring the beejesus out of all these fascinating characters who could potentially grace this forum with their baseless speculation, uninformed opinions and violent teenage angst. I feel I must know read through miles of robotech.com posts to read what I've been missing. Please refrain from your fact driven, double checked, carefully argumented posts so they feel the urge of joining up

maybe you could get the great Brigade Leader herself to replace Tommy Yune at Harmony Gold. She could at least make things interestings over there
