Gubaba's tears would always bring him back:D
-
Oh, I hadn't understood that bit. Excellent. That means that hopefully it shouldn't take THAT long...
-
The wait for 3.0 is just going to be pure torture! I hope they keep to the initial plan of releasing 3 and 4 together, but somehow I cannot imagine them keeping up that schedule.

Riding the Code geass soundtrack wave right now. Nakagawa Koutarou makes some excellent o.s.t's (he also did Planetes) and I love some of the orchestral pieces he did for R2. The songs he composed for Hitomi are pretty cool too. No song has more circulation in my ipod than Madder Sky right now http://www.youtube.c...h?v=kzaLJ0i52UY Just brings back the entire scene with Compelling stuff.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v3.0

Finished Code Geass R2. Highly entertaining stuff and loved the ending which I think was the right way to go. But I don't think it's as good as the first season. The plot is not as well crafted and there some pretty big holes. I also think that a series that had a highly original premise then went through some stuff that's already been done before . Although I enjoyed myself with R2 and can gladly recommend, I really cannot understand how it's ranked no.4 in ANN. I mean higher than Eva 2.0, Cowboy Bebop, Nausicaa or Millenium Actress? Really? -
That maybe quite a wait considering how "unbelievably fast" Funimation get's its stuff on the market:D

Going through Code Geass R2 now and I have to say that even though it's very, very entertaining, it's not as good as the first season. The story is not nearly as compact and the new characters don't add much. -
Second that. Or at least a short explanation of where they ended up!

Bakemonogatari is normally the kind of anime I don't like but the dialogue and interplay between the characters is amazing. And Hitagi Senjougahara is one of the best written characters I've seen in anime. "tsundere saaabisuu" -
Goes to show how much attention I'm paying to Klan. The Toyota Supra> I am in awe at what merchandising execs can come up with...Wow!
-
Who would have though that Macross would have made to the hip-hop community?
-
Finally have official confirmation on how to spell Klan's name. Really nice fig.

As Keith said it seems that she plays a larger role in the next movie. Let's hope she does live up to expectations and does more than just steal Asuka's thunder, Having said, I think she somehow is the creators addition to appeal to a newer public that hasn't seen NGE before and needs some more recognizable traits. Hence the glasses (meganekko and all that), "fuller" figure more in accordance to today's character designs etc.

Watching Bakemonogatari while I wait for the Code Geass R2 dvd's i ordered to arrive. Postal services these days! To soon too pass judgement on Bakemonogatari, but I love the art and animation so far. And the Senjougahara character is very appealing. Almost like you want to know more about her. -
I take it we can use "Macross in the weirdest places" in a broad sense here? Was at my local record store here in Copenhagen, and in the background was a quite decent hip hop song that used a sample from the Godfather Waltz (from the movie with the same name). I dropped the 3 dvd's i had in my hand when I heard the rapper say "start moving on Macross Plus flush" and ran to the shops attendant and almost strangled her demanding to know what in the name of all that was holy was on in the background. And yes, the name of the song is Macross Plus and its by a rapper called Billy Woods. The lyrics have absolutely no relation to the OVA or movie in my opinion, and I have no idea what he was aiming at with the lyrics. Maybe he just heard the name and though it sounded cool. Anyway, Macross finds its way to you no matter what you do:D Oh, and of course I bought the CD!

No work yesterday and the mrs. was visiting family so I was able to gobble up the remaining 10 Code Geass chapters i was missing in one go. Which means that I've enjoyed myself quite a bit with this series. Good storyline with lots of twists. Although every now and again its a tad forced with too many "convenient" plot devices. But a hell of a ride nonetheless. I still don't like the male character designs, but the girls look pretty good to me:D -
Stephen Hawking and the human emigration project
Marzan replied to Marzan's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Good arguments for both staying/leaving. It seems that in the absence of an external motivation, the main sticking point is energy. How much energy capacity is left on the planet, how much of it is sustainable, and how much is needed for future generations. If mankind begins to "mine" outer space in search of raw materials, the main obstacle would be the expenditure needed to achieve this goal. Ironically man would run out of resources, trying to procure more resources. -
Couldn't really find a topic to fit it in (if the mods can suggest one please feel free to move it!). Stephen Hawking embraces the Global plan?! http://www.telegraph...-a-century.html Although the reasoning ans scenarios are quite different, it's interesting to note some serious scientists are advocating for mankind to begin contemplating leaving the earth. Of course "resource depletion and overpopulation" are not quite as compelling reasons as an attack by the Zentraedi or the Supervision army. In any case, it's be interesting to hear what you some of you think about the prospect of humanity leaving it's cradle a century from now.

I had forgotten about that one. What a crazy small role to play:D
