What's so wrong with elitism? There's nothing wrong with having higher standards and being picky about what you spend your money on. Just because some people don't like spending money on crap they know will break on its own, doesn't make them evil. Based on the pics and reviews, I sure as hell am not going to waste money on these. Besides Toynami doesn't exactly have the best track record on toys.

Not super old and not obscure to non-Americans: Saint Seiya- Made the doujinshi industry what it is today. Has a big following to this day. Still makes toys for the series, with Bandai doing what Yamato has done for the VF-1, re-doing, resculpting, and breathing life into old designs to create better toys. Is still producing sequels/prequels. Is very 80s-ish, and would have done well in the US had it been shown in the 80s like all the other countries. But the manga is better, because damn do I hate filler stuff.

Hell yeah it's the golden age! Man I remember being a young teen wanting a valkyrie toy so bad and having the luck of getting a Joon's after lots of searching. I was somewhat annoyed that the gunpod couldnt be mounted in fighter mode, and I thought that they should make a better version. Of course I thought there was no chance in hell of that happening, or of there being Macross Plus valkyrie toys... Man, I love Yamato.

Thanks for the confirmation on gunpod count Graham! I keep looking at the pics comparing the new 1/60 to the old 1/72, and I just can't help but get a big grin on my face. Although I would like to see it in fighter mode from a front view to look into the intakes to see if part of the chest goes into the legs like someone pointed out might be going on in the cad lineart.

VF-11 for me. I fell in love with that design from episode 1 of M+ with Isamu going nuts with it. It looks good in all modes to me. It's sleek, cool looking, and it has a gunpod with a bayonet! I hope they do get to doing a new VF-11, hopefully with a way to do the heatshield in battroid without havinf to cut out a plastic thing to put over the cockpit, and no shoulder bars.

EFLA was out when I went on a road trip vacation with a friend. Man, it was weird because we kept seeing all this stuff non-related to the movie about hating LA, get away from LA, LA sucks, and stuff like that. Then when we finally get to the place we were going to, we run into a bunch of posters of EFLA. Weird. And for a surprise twist, Carpenter works with Konami, and Snake meets Snake. lol I'm not serious about that!

Oh man I just saw the episode where we first see the VF-22 in M7. Damn, I want a Max VF-22 now. Does the VF-22 hold one or two gunpods? I couldn't figure it out from the Macross Design Works book. I prefer the overall look of the VF-22, especially the head in battroid, and the belly of the plane in fighter (since it internally stores its gunpod). I'm drooling in anticipation of the YF-19. I just hope it doesn't have any problems like the infamous tab-B.

If Yamato were to make changes to the 1/60 VF-1 and do a redesign based on the 1/48, I would buy at least a DYRL Max, even though I already have a 1/60 Max. But... VF-1 overload. I'd rather they wait and bring 1/60 VF-1 V2s later after they visit/revisit other valks. Namely a resculpt VF-11 and YF-21. The VF-4G, VF-3000, and VF-5000. Heh, plus they can do a 1/60 release of the Low Vis, for you guys that missed out on the 1/48. I know I'd buy that one as a 1/60 V2. However, I personally would not rebuy a 1/60 VF-1 if the only change is plastic legs. It's not enough of a reason for me to dish out that much money. Otherwise: -stay not doing the radar/removable nosecone (unless it's to have an optional nosecone replacement to placate fighter mode and battroid mode purists, like on the 19 people complaining the nose is too short). -take advantage of VFX color schemes if doing new valks. -continue with the non-canon color schemes as long as they're good ones. -like everyone else said... space saving boxes. -work with CMs corporation to release more Macross figure collections, with better work and if releasing packs of a figure, include heads for ALL the bodies... I'm still pissed I have three bodies for Miria, and one is headless. edit: typed the wrong thing for a smiley

I hate the VA-3. Ugly in all modes. I think I hate the VF-9 just as much. Not much of a fan of the VF-14 either. The VF-17 has grown on me as I've been watching M7. I would be crawling all over the walls in anticipation if Yamato did a good looking transforming VF-4G lightning III. I have to at least get the YF-19. VF-19A color variants would depend on the colors. I'd probably skip on the Excalibur. But if there were to be a Low Vis type (v1, not jungle camo) I'd have to dig for money or start selling other people's organs because I need mine.

Man, I hope that the VF-4 falls under the VFX license and that it's not JUST VFX2. The VF-4 needs some love, even if the first VFX was butt (and I own it anyway! ). Man I can't wait to see a plastic prototype of the 19!

Yeah the youngling looks kind of like Luke, but it's the kid that says "Master Skywalker there are too many of them! What are we going to do?". My wife rocks, she doesn't mind me getting valks at all! And she's a Max and Miria fan.

Yeah but we Macross fanboys have the VF-11, YF-19, YF-21, and the VF-0. Plus our Minmay can sing without making ears bleed.

Heh, I just got an Anakin ROTS gold mini and Mace Windu AOTC gold mini from MR, from winning in some trivia games. Totally awesome! I've also got a Han Solo Convention Exclusive blaster mini on the way, with the chance of a gold (although I hope to just get the normal chrome one).
