Man, you aren't kidding. Makes me feel rather stabbity myself. It's one of the reasons I've been lurking more than posting. Because you're not a collector or a fan of star wars if you're in it just for the lightsabers and official products, and wanting affordable replicas. ComicKaze the MR FX lightsabers (the newer ones anyway) have a string of 64 LEDs in a polycarbonate tube with a light diffuser in it. Customizations that can be done on a FX lightsaber to rip out the string and have the lights concentrated in the handle so turning it on does an instant blade light-up. Plus side is that you don't bust a string of LEDs when you hit crap, kind of like on the old FX lightsabers that had electroluminescent film. Downside is that you lose the scrolling on and off effect. I don't know much on the different ways to customize FX lightsabers though, so I can't help on specific details.

Yeah, the Pheyos, I couldnt remember the name and didnt have access to my VFX2 game book. And yes, I forgot it was the VF-1X. And I couldn't remember if it was super or strike... It's been a while. I would still like a 1/60 Monster. A VF-11 Ravens scheme would be pretty cool. And a VF-17D would be very welcome. addition: I'm sold on buying the Monster in parts with other valks.

VFX2 Valks: VF-1A CF VF-1S FP/SP? GBP-1 VA-3 Invader VF-11 Thunderbolt VF-11 Full Armor VF-17 Nightmare VF-19A Excalibur VF-22 Sturmvogel II Zentraedi Variable Fighter Oh yeah, I forgot, the Koenig Monster, not that I expect that one to be revisited...

The other half of the camp on rebelscum are celebrating it as being the LE "investors" who felt their collections would be devalued. I really wanted a more affordable, good looking, officially licensed lightsaber prop. I know I could buy replica parts to put together an Obi-wan ANH lightsaber, or Luke ANH/ESB, and Vader ANH/ESB. But I want something officially licensed I don't have to assemble. Plus I wanted an Obi-wan TPM/AOTC lightsaber CE, and a Dooku ROTS CE. There's a lot of speculation going on, like maybe Corgi will be releasing something like the CE line, or maybe a replacement line will come into place that will be Collector Editions under a new name. But only time will tell. I'm hoping for a replacement line for the CE, or for higher quality FX lightsabers with removeable blades and better looking hilts (although that would make a good Dooku ROTS lightsaber not very likely...). Argh...

Damn, the CE line has been killed off. This sucks. I wanted some more affordable good looking lightsaber props.

Anyone Else Have Problems With Shipping Carriers?
Sumdumgai replied to DeathHammer's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Exploded, mangled, crunched, and every piece damaged beyond reasonable use as replacement parts. Stupid chronopost. And I'm serious about every piece of that Q-rau being damaged enough that you could not use any part of it as replacement pieces for another Q-rau. But I finally got a non-damaged Q-rau, so I'm happy. But thankfully I don't have to put up with Chronospost anymore! I'm back in the States. Instead I get to rant about how DHL and USPS just drop the package on my doorstep and leaves without knocking. Stuff shipped from France to the US gets mangled too. My mom recently had a package come in looking like it was used like a soccer ball... -
Ouch, sorry to hear about that Scream Man! I finally got to open my VF-0A recently and it seems to have no problems, although I was scared poopless transforming it (I made sure not to try to fold the flap on the backpack). Damn that babe looks good next to my Low Viz V1!

Haha! Not only doujinshi, but autographed stuff by some famous and not so famous doujinshika (Kawarajima Koh, Saigado, Satoshi Shiki, Yonekura Kengo)! Although I admit that I brought the doujinshi all back on my back in a heavy backpack. The toys and stuff took room in the luggage, although for me it was mostly select gashapon I had trouble finding in the west. That's an awesome haul crazy canuck II! Even more awesome that none of the boxes or anything look damaged!

That's a nice haul! I loved Akihabara. Although I brought back more doujinshi than toys.

Annoying Reporter vs Annoying Rock Singer = Annoying Rock Singer wins (thank you stockholm syndrome) The only things I liked from Macross II were Ishtar and the opening theme. I just took M7 as a different approach to Macross, with those strong parody elements that Kawamori and crew were originally intending for SDF Macross. All the camp, the repetitiveness that's so common to Japanese humor, the 80's breed hero (Basara), the clichés, the stereotype parodies, the sentai parodies, and even the self parodies... I cringed a lot, but enjoyed it overall. Loved the music, although I started to get sick of Planet Dance. MII, I couldn't stand Hibiki. I hated the idealistic hypocrite reporter as main character thing. Yeah, he evolved, but I wanted to stomp that character. Basara I only felt like throttling or hitting him in the head with a rock. I also didn't like the mecha design, the whole zentraedi with culture and their own singers thing, and that whole thing about the Alus (which I vaguely remember as being unsolved, I haven't watched it in a loooong time). I gave it a chance and rewatched it a few times, but still hated it. Best things to come from Macross 7 besides the music, backstory, military mecha, battle section, the picture of the Jenius family, and Emilia Oh yeah, Emilia~

List of the Best Mech shows on Dvd in the US

If we're taking a trip out of the 80's and into the early 90's I'll add to that list: Super Dimension Century Orguss 02 -
That's awesome news about the busts! My wife really wants that Kanon bust, she's a big fan of the twins.

Well you better know how to navigate using a map, because there are no street names in Tokyo. If you're going shopping for anime goods and doujinshi, Akihabara is the place my wife and I spent the most time at. There is a Mandarake and Toranoana in the area. I think there's a Melon Books... There are plenty of shops with toys. There's also a multi-story Gamers there. My wife and I aren't social people so we don't know any good night-life spots. And we only went to one temple, then spent the rest of the trip going to shops and Comic Market. So can't help you on day trips either.

Well hell, Aegis! Yamato is making a Ghost to put on the VF-0. I sure think that really opens the possibility for a X-9. Heck it should be somewhat affordable idealy, considering that the most gimmicks it could have are missile bay doors and things that pop off to throw out glowy orange things (I dont know what they were supposed to be, but I just remember it from when Isamu and Guld were dodging stuff). I'm up for a VF-5000, you can count me in. And a VF-4!

I say go with the Shortpacked quote.

Pic out of Marina General Kraken Isaac! Pictures taken from the Whitezeta forums. And Gemini Kanon and Wyvern Radamanthys busts that you can take the newly sculpted heads off of and use on your Saint Cloth Myth figures:

WTF! Jabu with a Mospeada helmet... Weird.
-
I kind of want to get one and strap a rocket on it. I don't like the ghost enough to spend that much on it though...

The "Joe Jedi" make-ur-fx is probably the MR delux version of the hasbro build your own lightsaber toy. There've been a number of people clamouring for it on rebelscum. I'm excited about the mini helmets, because I want one of the new clonetrooper helmets and the vaer helmet. Maybe a Fett helmet too. One of the MR reps on rebelscum confirmed that they bought the tooling from Riddel for their old mini helmets. The clonetrooper will be a built from scratch mini. I'm really excited about the Obi-wan TPM/AOTC FX. A number of guys are thinking the FX-Q will be a FX of high quality, where you can take out the blade and stuff. That Gree helmet should be pretty cool. Problem is that these were advertisements for the stores. It was never really meant to advertise to the public, it was more to give an idea to the stores what kinds of things they plan on releasing. Until an official announcement, some of these could fall off the face of the eart.

Oh holy crap, I can't wait to get mine!

Mmmmm, duck... On subject though, I'm glad that the canards fold on the 19 toy rather than stick out the sides. edit: oh, they fold! Dang, I mixed it up with the VF-4. I was looking at the Design Works recently and the toy pics and mixed them up. Thanks for setting me right on that. I hate mixing htings up.

Well the SV-51 has kind of a screw shaped head. Same with the VF-4. And the YF-21.

Well crap I should check on my Low Vis pilot and see if he has mud-butt.
