When you take off the outer shoulder covering you can see the two dark grey plastic parts where the shoulder breakages occur. On the 0A CF even if you unscrew the two screws the two halves do not seperate, because they're glued together. You might be able to tell by looking for glue seepage at the seam line between the two halves of the shoulder. Otherwise you'd have to take the chance of unscrewing and trying to pull (I won't ask anyone to do that, especially with the chance that you could aggravate the shoulder).

I have a question for 0A Shin owners. Are the shoulders still glued together so you have to pop the arm on or off that ball joint?
-
I'll be one of the guys to say I don't like the poseability of the revoltech line. The shoulders in particular frustrate me on my Eva-04 figure. The upper arm twists all over the place and I'm always struggling to not accidentally break the shoulder joint while posing the arm because of that particular kind of ball joint. I love the way the revoltech line looks though, for the most part. If there were to be Macross action figures, I'd want something more along the poseability of the Saint Cloth Myth line by Bandai, with the joints better hidden like the fraulein line revoltechs.

Pics guys, pics! Pics are worth a lot, especially on these kinds of things. At least give us descriptions of what's gone wrong to make you vote "shoulder broke".

The VF-1, VF-4, and VF-11 are all close in size to each other. If the 1/48 line is dead, long live the 1/60! Just don't skimp on the engineering and materials. Man, oh man. I'm really eager to hear an announcement of "1/60 VF-11B coming soon)". Oh baby, and a 1/60 VF-4...

Were they ghost fighters? I rewatched episode 1 around the 18 minute mark and the only thing that stood out for me were the blue/black ghost fighters launching.

This dobber-scheme-ish VF-0 would make an awesome repaint, especially if Yamato does the Dobber Scheme SV-51. Non-VF-0 repaints, I think that this grey VF-19A would rock. Even better if the nose sensors were red instead of green. Pics are from the VF-1 Riders site.

Evangelion 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone

Sounds like it's Pirates 2 for the Eva series. All set-up for the next movie. -
the one in the lower right of that pic looks like a VF-1/0 wanna-be ghost. When it grows up it'll be a VF-1.

The purple valk between the camo 0D and the Miriya-scheme 0D looks like a VF-19F, minus the ankle cuffs. Has the 19F/S wings and no canards. Change it to a light grey/dark gray mix color scheme and that 19F doesn't look half bad. Now I have to go look at episode 1.

I hope a decent company wins, and not ADV or manga. -
I haven't voted, since I don't have the 0A Shin. CF here.

Oh hell, screw it. I don't care if Yamato releases anymore color schemes for the VF-0. I'm out for that series of valkyrie. My 0A CF had both shoulders snap, and I figure it won't be long before the biceps develop into major cracks from the small cracks and stress-marks they already have. With a 25% rate of breakages in the supposedly fixed 0A Shin, screw this design. I'm with Mr. March. Hello, YF-19!

Macross Frontier is the new Macross TV series that's coming out.

If Yamato can pull off the SV-51, they can definitely do a VF-4. It's alright that you don't like the VF-4 Ryoma. It's not like we're going to gang up on you and stab you with sporks or anything. I don't like the VA-3, VF-9, the varuta variable fighters, and the Pheyos variable fighter. The "25th anniversary" being tampoed all over it is really making me think. Do I want it because I'm settling for second best while wanting a stealth? Thankfully I have some time to consider before preorders start up. I'm seriously considering picking up the current set of 19 with fp and foldildo... (and possibly skipping the 25th and waiting for a stealth, low vis, or sv-51dobber-scheme on a 19).
-
How about all three? Wait, let me add the VF-17 and I'll use the toes on both feet as well.
-
WOO! Crossing fingers for a VF-11B and a VF-4!
-
and there were people complaining that a 1/48 YF-19 would be too big! Imagine the size of a VF-1.

I haven't been to a Japanese bookstore for a couple of weeks. Next time I'm at one I'll check the hobby mags and report back.

An observation about the YF-21(22)
Sumdumgai replied to Chindenathus's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Woah, I didn't know that planes could pull stuff like the mongoose! Awesome stuff, thanks for posting the links to those vids David Hingtgen! -
There you go! Yeah, 25th anniversary black and gold. I would have said "skull scheme", but that would suck as a limited edition.
-
VF-4 wouldn't have been good for the 25th anniversary since they're limited editions like the Low Vis v1. Besides, it's not iconic enough, as much as I love that design. The VF-4 should get a proper, non-limited release. When bandai puts the time, money, and care into a line, they can produce awesome stuff (Saint Cloth Myth figures for example). I'm just afraid that if Bandai decided to do some more Macross stuff, it would be half-assed. I'm afraid it would be more of the 1/65 scaled M7 type chunky-monkey toys. If Bandai did put out something high quality to give Yamato a run for their money, count me in (as long as it's a valkyrie I like). In any case, BRING ON THE VF-11B!

Yamato Executive to the Yamato ninjas about the head QC guy in China: "Our QC standards have failed to be upheld time and time again. Take him to Detroit." (thumbs up if you can name the movie the second sentence came from.) I've been blown away by the pics of everyone's SV-51. It's been pretty hard not to give in to the urge to get one. Really hard. additon: Thumbs up to IAD!

I only noticed now, but in one pic of the 19, I see an all black pilot figure. Is the production version going to come with an all black pilot figure? Or will he have some painted details? Like maybe the yellow/black shoulder pads. I still insist that if you've going to have a black valkyrie, the visor/eyepiece should be red transparent plastic. Graham, do you have any details about the Minmay figure that you can release to use when/if Yamato gives you the okay? I don't mean "Graham give us the details now, Mr. Sith Lord Sir", I mean do you know and are not able to tell us at the moment what you know. Info like who the sculptor is, what clothes, features, estimated msrp, planned variants. All that good stuff. Since I collect gal figures, I'm really interested in the details on Minmay. If it does well, and it's done well, maybe they could consider a non-limited Miria... edit for clarification on questioning Graham
