Nice buy, kyp! I say "good deal".

Maybe a zentraedi battleship? Didn't they hide out in the ocean for a bit? = saturation. Or you could count them saturating the earth from space to wipe clean the face of the planet. As for penetration... Whamo from the Macross, numerous times on numerous ships. Truth to be told, I wouldn't be excited about a giant space pickle. So, I hope this is just another missing shot in the dark.

Subs over dub for me. Raws work too. Dubs can completely change a character, depending on how the voice actor/actress portrays that character. Some good examples are Gendo Ikari's dub in Evangelion. That voice actor was fantastic for me (kind of sucked in the movie though, he didn't sound the same). The voice actors in Macross Plus were pretty good, although Myung's voice grated on my nerves a bit. But, Light Yagami's voice in the trailers for the dubbed version of Death Note... Too whiney, too angsty sounding. He doesn't sound at all composed, level headed, passionate, or even a slight tinge of crazy. The entire cast of the Rurouni Kenshin OVA was horrible. The RK TV series on the other hand was watcheable (although some characters weren't as cool, like Jine or Saito, can't beat their seiyuu). The dub of Saint Seiya was atrocious. I'm used to reading subs barely glancing at them while I keep my focus on the main part of the screen. If the anime is good I'll rewatch it anyway, and can watch it without reading the subs, remembering more or less what's being said in addition to understanding a bit of the Japanese. As long as I get my anime with the original sounds, whatever. I only check dubs nowadays out of curiosity's sake to see how the characters are portrayed.

I'd say that the Roy and Max action figures, by Imai, probably aren't worth that much except to collectors. I regretted buying the Max battroid, talk about crap articulation. Dunno for the 1/72 YF-19, but it won't be worth as much with missing parts.

I don't plan on getting the plain clothes saints. The really cool draw for me on the figures is that they come with the armor, and they're mostly metal and don't just clip on like the old chunky-monkey toys.

But, the VF-11 is a small valkyrie. If I remember correctly, the VF-1, VF-4, and VF-11 are all around the size of a F-16 Falcon, while the VF-0, YF-19, and YF-21/VF-22 are closer in size to the F-14 Tomcat. This is personal taste, but I'd prefer if they kept the valkyries in scale with each other from now on. I also like the fact that the earlier valkyries were smaller sized. The smaller size would also help reduce the cost, especially if they have enough repaints. There's the M+ scheme, VFX2 Ravens, plain white (like M7 without having to brand it as a M7 11C ), stealth, low vis, and why not apply Dobber's SV-51 paint scheme to the VF-11? I think it would also look pretty cool to have the smaller valks standing by the larger, "newer" ones (exception on the VF-0 that is canonically not new) in battroid. Or parked near them in fighter. The only concern I'd have with a 1/60 scale VF-11 is how they would do the shoulder transformation. While that fear stems from the VF-0, I have some faith they could pull off something akin to the YF-19 elbows that I was fearing would break in no time. I'll be more, or less, concerned on this issue after the SV-51 and YF-21 have been out for a while.

Speaking of CMs figures, I hope they continue to produce more Macross figures. I'd like a figure of Suzie Newtlet, Emilia Genius, and M7 Captain Max Genius.

There you go, thank you! Redesigned BP-8, how could I have forgotten that one! I personally prefer the swing bar to the detacheable legs that never seemed to want to stay locked in place in gerwalk or fighter.

Evangelion 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone
Sumdumgai replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Pen-pen will be the new dummy plug system. All the rage and raw power of an angry penguin. Watch as eva-01 waddles around, then hops towards an angel, before ramming it and pecking it with its head horn, as it flaps its arms uselessly. -
I was personally hoping that if Yamato does a VF-11B with gunpod only (no FP, no rocket boosters) it would be for around $75. 11b w/FP I was hoping to be closer to $90 than $100, but it's my wishful thinking. And they couldn't miss doing the protect armor for the VF-11. It's too awesome to pass up.

Evangelion 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone

I would be pleasantly surprised if Shinji dies in movie 2, and the series moves on without him. Fat chance of that happening though. I am very curious about the upcoming eva movies. -
According to Graham, the 1/48 line is dead, other than VF-1 repaints. So we probably won't see any 1/48 VF-11s.
-
Imagine the VF-1 at 1/60 scale with a compromise between the needle-nose 1/60 version 1 and the 1/48 nosecone, with all these improvements. -No removable nosecone. -No moveable flaps to break or have fall off. -Plastic lower legs (no longer bottom heavy). -Standard swingbar with the nose-hinge improvement of the 1/60 VF-0 (no more annoying pegs to fish out when you want it out of battroid). -Joint system from the 1/48 VF-1, so it's prettier than the old 1/60 version 1 and can do an A-stance in gerwalk, also has the moveable kneecap. -Designed to have the shoulders and arms sit higher up in fighter mode, like the lineart (like how they were able to do with the VF-0). -Integrated heatshield so no more fear of losing the canopy or heatshield. -Flip out hands, for a cleaner looking forearm. -Legs, arms, and backpack lock together, so now you can make it do barrel-rolls without the backpack flipping in fighter! -Updated gunpod with collapsible handle. -Improved landing gear. -Updated feet and ankles. -Lower price than the 1/48 VF-1 -Comes packed with Fast Packs or Strike Packs and missiles. I'd certainly buy a few. ... ... Once Yamato has done a fair share of non-VF-1s.
-
Yep, the VF-11 is just a tiny bit longer in fighter, and taller in battroid. The VF-11 should come packaged with fast packs straight from the beginning, like the SV-51. I could care less about the rockets and ghost X-9. Besides, I think the X-9 should get a separate release, so that you don't have to buy a valk to get it in case not everyone likes the VF-11 (inconceivable!). They could always do a second VF-11 pack that has fast packs and booster rockets. Relatively cheap VF-11 sounds great to me too Dante74. Affordable with fast packs sounds just as good.
-
Well, I'll look on the bright side of if they re-do the 1/60 VF-1 line. It'll be cheaper than the current releases. Much smaller, less materials, and probably much less time spent in doing it since it would be their third time on the VF-1 line (fourth if you count the VF-0 and them learning what they shouldn't do). addition: Don't forget a Low Vis v1, Macross73!

Next Myth Cloth Busts are Mu and Aioria. Not that Mu needs one yet. Also you can see the Marina Chrysaor is an upcoming Myth Cloth figure. Plus you see the Appendix Casual Cloth Seiya, with pandora's box (not sure if it's supposed to be metal or plastic, but I think it's supposed to be metal).

I prefer the Paris act one. I prefer blue, I like that depiction of Minmay better, and... Well, I lived in Paris for a few years, so I'm biased.
-
I've decided I'll skip the 25th Anniversary 19 and wait for a 19 Stealth or Low Vis, but will pick up the FP/FD bundle in the meantime.
-
I would rather have Good Smile Company, Megahouse, or Max Factory do Macross figures. I'm hoping high for the Yamato Minmay figure, but am prepared to be disappointed since the articulation doesn't sound good to me. But, I'll wait and see.
-
Awesome. Come on Yamato, Lucky Star has animated one, you can make one too!
-
I liked this movie. Lots of cheese. And The Bowler rocked.

Well, the reason I was asking about the shoulders being glued on the 0A Shin, is because I have a 0A CF with broken shoulders (chunks missing) and the two halves are glued together. That makes fixing them a little more difficult, because I'm either going to have to glue the bits back on and risk gluing the arm to the ball joint, or glue the shoulder parts together, then pop them back on and quite possibly re-breaking or re-aggravating the damaged areas. So I was just wondering if the workers at the factory stopped gluing the shoulders together on the 0A Shin, since if the shoulders do get damaged they'll be that much easier to repair if they're not glued.

I like the blue one, the red one with gold heat-shield, and I'd like the purple one if it was really-really dark-purple.
-
Well, there are the Max and Hikaru man-dolls in 1/6 scale. I like the look of a lot of Medicom's figures. In particular the MGS3 Snake figure (love the crocodile helmet). I just never bought any because I'm not willing to pay that kind of price for those kinds of figures. I'd rather get more valkyries.

RoboCop: 20th Anniversary Collector's Edition

That's some fun stuff.
