1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?
Sumdumgai replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
As long as these come out, the YF-21 comes out, an eventual VF-11B comes out, and a Dobber scheme SV-51 comes out. I'll be happy. Of course I'd like some time between the releases to be able to afford them... -

1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?

Definitely will pick up the DYRL VF-1A Max when it comes out. Most likely will pick up a TV series VF-1J Miria. If they release a VF-1A Low Visibility v1 or something similar, I will pick it up, as well as a Stealth. I may just bite if they do a Minmay Guard, depending on the scheme. This is awesome news! Wow, I didn't remember it was me that guessed this for "saturation penetration", but I'll take Dobber's word on it (damnit, they need to get around to making your Dobber scheme SV-51!). Hot damn, these are going to look great next to my YF-19, Q-rau, and Battle-damaged VF-0A (still needs fixing). Still dling Macross Frontier episode 1. I'm crawling up the walls with everything that's happened today! -

That green Q-rau is a re-issue bandai 1/144 scale model kit. -
I dunno. For me the Yamato female figures have been hit or miss. Some are fantastic, some are really meh for me. And their female figures cost a pretty penny. I keep bringing up megahouse, but so far their figures have been top notch, and more affordable than the Yamato ones, with better quality to them (in my opinion). I'm anxious to find out if this Minmay figure is still in the works, or if it went the way of the 1/60 Destroid Monster.

WOOHOO! Awesome news! And pics to boot! Thanks Graham for the scans, shaggydog for discovering this, and everybody else that pointed out everything they noticed on it! Keep the plastic mixture good! No disintegrating shoulders, elbows, or knees please! So, it has: -better arm integration in fighter (no hanging shoulders) -double-jointed elbows (awesome) -engineered to allow for two-seaters (groovy) -VF-0 nose type transformation (cool) -non-splitting foot thrusters (niiice) -proportionally larger hands (yay!) -no moving wing flaps -no removeable nosecone (WOO!) -slimmer landing gear doors -the familiar leg holes for fast packs -the familiar pegs to lock the legs and arms together -backpack hinge looks slightly different (I hope it's stronger) -underbelly perfect transformation hatch, still with round pegs (I hope it's got a system like the VF-0, I hated having to fish for those pegs inside the guts of the 1/48 VF-1) -canopy more like the 1/48 as opposed to the slim original 1/60 Color schemes we can look forward to (definite or possibility): DYRL 1A Hikaru DYRL 1A Max DYRL 1A Kakizaki DYRL 1S Focker DYRL VT-1 DYRL VE-1 DYRL 1S Max DYRL 1S Hikaru TV series 1D TV series 1J Hikaru TV series CF TV series 1A Max TV series 1J Max TV series 1A Kakizaki TV series 1S Focker TV series 1J Miria TV series 1D Virgin Road TV series Angel Birds PS2 Game 1A Apollo squad (purple) Low Visibility version 1 Low Visibility (high visibility) Jungle Camouflage Stealth Minmay Guard version 1 (Moon Act?) Minmay Guard version 2 (Paris Act?) 25th Anniversary scheme (with or without the "25th anniversary" printing) Bring on the VF-4 and VF-11 in 1/60. We know now that when the VF-11 is made it will be 1/60. HOT DAMN! This is awesome! I'm hoping as well that these will be closer to the prices of the old 1/60s. -
Looks awesome. But, for me, no. Thanks for the pics izzyfcuk! I keep misreading the last part of your name, by the way.

At least with the YF-19 w/FD, the boxes are not sealed in plastic. I got to choose mine out of the boxes that Tam, at Twin Moons, had still fresh in their shipping boxes from wherever he got them. Now that was an awesome sight. A buttload of YF-19s in one place. That brought a biiiig smile to my face, which was made bigger because I was bringing one back home with me.

I'm going to laugh if Nimoy gets put in the movie somewhere, or they use that song at the end of the movie.

Aliens Vs. Predator 2 Script and Movie Review
Sumdumgai replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
AvP the arcade game was awesome. Of course if they did a movie with a hot chick slicing aliens with a sword... No. -
Ooooh, love that trailer. Love this version of the Joker so far.

Interesting. I haven't seen the third movie yet. This seems much more interesting.

Sealed. And Do Not Disturb's thread was the cement over the nailed shut coffin for me. Alarm bells rang for me when I originally found out how Toy Wave ships without boxes unless you ask and pay for it. Then I read about some members paying for quick shipping only to receive it over a month later. Now this recent fiasco. Glad, I went with Tam at Twin Moons. DnD's thread did really bring home for me the need for the valks to have a seal of some sort on the box. It already bothered me in the past anyway. But even more so now, with crap like this happening.

I bet they attach to the underside by magnets. Magnets! They're the future I tell ya!

Heh squeezable gummy Guld. Squeeze him and his eyes pop out, stop squeezing and they suck back in.

About Millia 639 (Miria) in Macross 7
Sumdumgai replied to Isamu test pilot's topic in Movies and TV Series
None of you have obviously lived in Paris then. Can't speak English there, can't speak French there (if you're foreign and have a distinct accent). Almost everyone gets pissed at you... Actually almost everyone is pissed period. Not all, but a lot of Parisiens are really anal about people "butchering" their language, particularly if it's with an American-English accent. The ability to hear and pronounce words in other languages is formed as a small child. I forgot what age you have until. In the early years, the more languages you're constantly exposed to the more languages you'll be able to hear and possibly pronounce later. The best example is the eskimo "e" in particular words. Adults who haven't heard the eskimo language spoken as an infant couldn't discern that particular sound. When they tested with infants that were exposed to the language, versus those that weren't, the ones who were exposed to the language could hear it. They found this out by exposing some toy when the "e" was going to be pronounced. The ones that could hear it, would look to where the toy would be exposed, expectantly. The infants who weren't exposed to the eskimo language before did show that expectation. -

I laugh both ways. -
That YF-21 will look nice standing next to my Q-rau. Hopefully this post gets us away from Zardoz?
-
Mmmmmmmmmmm, Chun-li. I hope she's still looking good.

I forgot what the 1J battroid heads looked like on these. The headlasers are just like the way my cat puts his ears back when I mess with him and press them flat back!

I forgot to save the pic, but there's a pic of the prototype figure for Thanatos out now. Also I read a rumor that Athena will be the special figure in 2008, but can't confirm that it's true.

Well using the Saint Cloth Myth toys as an example is less applicable here in terms of Bandai going "meh" at Macross, as opposed to actual capability of producing quality toys. Saint Seiya was a no brainer for them, considering its popularity the world over, and how big it was in Japan. Considering it influenced an entire generation which can be seen and felt to this day, and that they've continued animating the series... It's a cash cow that begs to be milked. Especially toy-wise now with that generation that grew up with it being adult collectors now. Gundam is another big cash cow, that touches many generations. Compared to Saint Seiya or Gundam, Macross falls a bit far behind in terms of fame, influence, and momentum. True Bandai could make some money off of Macross Frontier from die-hard fans. But it's not as sure of a series to make money as Gundam or Saint Seiya. When Bandai puts effort into it, they can make good stuff. I won't argue that. It's actually putting the effort in that I doubt them for.

You summed it up perfectly eugimon.
