If you like the 1/48s get the ones you want now while you can, because other than reissues and alternate color schemes, the 1/48 line is dead. Yamato is unifying the transformable toy line in 1/60 scale. So there will be the new 1/60 VF-1s (including two seaters), the 1/60 YF-19 and YF-21, the VF-0s and SV-51s, and the Q-raus. M7 valks are only available in 1/65 scale from Bandai. They are chunky-munkys and look like crap compared to the Yamato valks. There is no VF-17 from Yamato unfortunately, which many lament (none more so than Graham). Yamato will most likely make the Max and Miria 1J Supers in the new 1/60 line. They did so for the old line, and they did so in 1/48 scale. That couple is popular.

1) Psychological Horror/mystery/suspense/thriller with some light comedy tossed in here and there to lighten the mood a little bit before diving back into the intense stuff. Not for the squeemish, along the lines of Higurashi season 1, although a bit more violent. Along the lines of Silent Hill, Angel Heart, The Machinist, Higurashi no naku koroni, and others. 2) Zombie apocalypse series about a group of college students (with other older and younger characters mixed in) trying to survive a zombie apocalypse. Unlike in other zombie movies, the group of friends have already had lots of those discussions of what to do during a zombie apocalypse, and now it's time for them to try out those things. Horror, violence, zombies, stupid people (have to have those in a zombie story). Taking place in the US. Shuffler zombies, runner zombies, but none of those super mutated monsters from Resident Evil/Bio Hazard. 3) A fantasy series, in the vein of Final Fantasy IV. Oh yeah.

1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?

I prefer the DYRL color schemes, but hey that's just me. -
I hope the gunpods integrate on the belly of the YF-21 well... In Eugimon's Omega Pants.

Very nice review, Atomski! Awesome use of pictures, you really showed of Beta Hagen really well. In future reviews when/if you review the older figures in the Saint Cloth Myth line, you can point out the evolution of the figures and the armors. Since, the early figures had slightly less poseable bodies, the face sculpts were kind of meh, and there were a lot more QC problems. When the face sculpts started improving a lot (towards Gold Saint Scorpio Milo), the QC was already getting to be pretty good, and the way the armor was integrated on the figures was getting a lot nicer with less skin showing between the armguards and the armor just fitting nicer. Gemini Saga is one of the nicest (if not THE nicest) figure of the twelve Gold Saints (thirteen if you put the Aries Cloth on Surplice Aries Shion or Pope Shion). And Taurus Aldebaran is interesting because he is the brute squad. A really massive figure.

I think I'm going to have nightmares tonight, of Ryu and Ken's faces.

A very interesting theory twoducks, and makes sense to me. If Bandai does make Macross Frontier toys, and they turn out to be chunky-monkies... Oh man, I think I'll blow chunks.

That's the thing. Yamato wouldn't have to redesign from scratch. As you pointed out it would probably be the same as the YF-21 design with alternate canopy, face, and belly panels. Those are the only structural differences I've noticed. The differences aren't as severe as with the different models of the 19 (now that subject is a headache ). Eugimon's Omega pants.

Oh wow, I didn't remember that piece between the cockpit and the headlaser on the D-stance! Yeah, I agree that the Yamato pretty much blows the D-stance out of the water. Thanks for putting up the comparison pics vic mancini!

1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?

Well for the two-seater arrangement. It's possible they're doing something like I suggested in one of the other threads a while back, using inspiration of the 19 style cockpit arrangement. Front seat, and equipment thingy behind for one-seater. For two seater, move the pilot's console forward a bit, move up the pilot's seat, take out equipment thingy, put in second seat, use two-seater variant canopy. I'm curious to know if the heatshield is the same as with the 1/48 or redesigned. I have to say, I've had some moments of irritation with getting the heatshield to come out, only to have the whole damned thing pop out. Then the nerve wracking time spent attempting to get it back in place without damaging the pegs or the internal rails. -

Seeing these comparison pics, the new 1/60 is niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. -
All Macross lead males make sumdumgai want to kick the crap out of them at one point or another if not through the entire series. Hikaru all the way through. Isamu a lot of the time. Basara great deal of the time. Shin some of the team. Alto, I'll give you something to whine about!

Quick somebody get a tranquilizer and put Dante74 under for a bit! We'll wake him back up when the YF-21 comes out!

What order of Valkyries do we want to be released in
Sumdumgai replied to ruskiiVFaussie's topic in Toys
I don't really care as long as the fixes are all done by the time they release the DYRL Max VF-1A, the TV series Miria VF-1J, and the cool non-canon color schemes. -
Good luck on the customization job if you go for it Maximiria, and make sure to show us the pics!

Kind of mouth-y shaped. Similar head shape. -
The pic you posted maximiria is resized and altered. The legs are not normally that thick in the lineart, and that VF-22 is missing details on the lower legs. I find nothing wrong with this new version of the YF-21. It has a sleek awesome fighter mode, a great gerwalk for the YF-21, and the battroid is very much like a Q-rau. Woo it comes with gunpods! One of the issues that made me not get the old 1/72 version, besides the ginormous belly that made the YF-21 look like it was ready to give birth to a litter of joke-machines.

I like the 1/48 VF-1 line, and I love what I'm seeing of the 1/60 VF-1 rebuild. As long as the quality is good and they're sturdy, I might like them better than the 1/48. Especially the size saving me some space to display more and keep them in scale with the Q-rau, YF-19, and VF-0.

1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?

The wings on the VE/VT have detail differences like the wing tips, the backpacks and vertical stabilizers, etc. -
Unless I missed something, it's just an assumption on our part about the Yamato VF-11B. It is only logical.

As for how skinny the legs look in battroid, there's a fair bit of anime magic going on. Compare YF-19 fighter to battroid. In fighter they're thin, in battroid it's inflated to have some big calves. Like the recent 1/60 19, the 21 is going to have thick legs and a nice slim belly. You may not like it maxmiria, but I'm ecstatic at the sleek fighter mode. Very line-art accurate. And I love the battroid mode with the thin legs. Very Q-rau-ish.

I am pessimistic due to Bandai's history of releasing Macross toys. Jack since the original series and DYRL. And the chunky-munky M7 toys suck. If they put in the effort and money, Bandai will be able to put out quality MF toys. Until it's announced and we see some good stuff, I continue to remain pessimistic due to history.

Interesting... I can't wait for Hades in his Kamui.

Huh, and here I thought that Alto and company were going to an Academy. It's a high school. Weird.
