  1. Well as for the VF-27 being faster, there's the whole theory going on that Brera can withstand more Gs than normal pilots due to cybernetic implants. So it may not be that the VF-27 is overall faster than the VF-25, as much as the VF-25 might have a stricter limiter system in place so that the pilots won't get injuries if the VF-25 were to operate at full potential. Ozma was pulling off VF-27 like maneuvering in episode 7, he was all over the place!
  2. It would be interesting if Isamu and the Sharon Apple Incident was mentioned, so we could find out what happened to him afterwards. If he was severely disciplined, regarded as a Hero after a coverup, or what. The M7 references have been good so far. They haven't been too invasive, and I find that a good thing.
  3. I like both. The OVA has the Isamu in the VF-11 kicking ass, but the movie has the extended stuff like the YF-21/X-9 battle, and Sharon Apple seducing Isamu. Then there's the extra stuff that develops the characters a bit more like Lucy and Millard, and kind of gives us a hint at what Isamu's fate might have been after everything was done and over with. I also like the extended YF-19 sky drawing scene, goes to show how reckless yet skilled Isamu is. The way they worked tension into the end of each episode was nice in the OVA. I found the whole battroid brawl amusing but kind of ridiculous. I do admit to being annoyed with the dubbed OVA episode 4, that the dogfight music was replaced with the music used when we first saw the YF-21 dodging missles and taking down drones.
  4. Maybe they cloned Roy from blood samples they still had, so it was Roy's clone in the movie. I like how they cged in the VF-0 over the VF-25, unlike in the M7 DYRL remake...
  5. I'll be one of the one's to hope that the VF-11 stays in scale without cheating the size. Awesome comparison pics of the YF-21 to the old 1/60 VF-1. I just hope that Yamato has learned a valuable lesson from the VF-0 and makes sure to get the balance of ABS and PVC right so there's no repeat on the rest of their releases. So far all the reviews and everything is looking good to me on the YF-21.
  6. What you're suggesting is kind of like those 15th anniversary Arii figures that were battroid and gerwalk figures (albeit with HORRIBLE articulation). It's an interesting idea. I don't know how well the gerwalks would sell. I don't really like gerwalk mode except on the VF-4 and VF-11. I figure that fighter and battroid would be the most popular. If the 1/200 collection figures come out with the VF-4, VF-11, VF-14, or VF-5000 I'm going to get interested in picking up some of the line.
  7. Just keep checking in the Anime or Science Fiction section of Macross World. Robotech isn't the most popular subject for everyone here.
  8. I recommend waiting to see how the new 1/60 scale VF-1 Valkyrie series from Yamato turns out. From all that we know and have seen, it's looking to arguably be the best transformable rendition of the VF-1 yet in terms of a balance between looks, poseability, details, and transformation process. And it's smaller without being tiny. Otherwise up to this point, the 1/48 VF-1 is a fantastic purchase although may be bigger than what you'd be interested in. Some people love the Toynami 1/100 VF-1s. I don't like them so I don't own any.
  9. If there were an option to pick two, it would be Sheryl followed by Klan Klan.
  10. If Ranka starts freaking out crying and starts calling out "ni-ni", I'm going to have a fit. And not a happy fit either. With the appearance of the VF-0A and VF-0D, not to mention a VF-1 guess that means that Bandai could make these as 1/60 scale toys if they wanted to then couldn't they...
  11. I'm still betting that we're going to find out that Sheryl and Ranka are distantly related somehow. Or that Ranka is actually a Nome, and Sheryl isn't really and just was going around with that name. And Grace is The Boss (as in MGS3). Seriously it's the same seiyuu.
  12. What wolfx said. If you want some details... The VF-4 first appeared as the VFX-4 model that Hikaru was messing around with in one episode of SDF Macross. It also appeared in the design you're probably more familiar with in the OVA Macross Flashback 2012. In that we only ever saw it in fighter mode (maybe gerwalk, I can't remember). It wasn't until Macross Digital Mission VFX for Playstation that Kawamori designed the official battroid mode for it. So up until the late 90s, it's not like there could have been a transformable toy or model made. The VF-3000 and VF-9 were eventually integrated into the Macross Universe and were new designs loosely based in the Macross Universe. Check out the "unreleased" section on the main Macross World page, then go to "advanced valkyrie". Those two designs were brought into the Macross Universe in the game Macross M3 for sega dreamcast (I think?). The VF-14 was also adapted into this game after making a cameo appearance in one of the Macross 7 Plus segments. The VA-3 Invader and VF-5000 appeared in the Macross Dynamite 7 OVAs. As it was already, Bandai didn't even get around to releasing the VF-17 Miria scheme valkyrie, much less release the VF-11C, any of the other Fire Bomber valkyries, the Fz-109 Elgarsoln, or a VF-22 (holy crap it would have looked ass-tasticly chunky). The Pheyos valkyrie made its first appearance in Macross Digital Mission VFX, and it was an annoying B**CH of a boss. Again, it was a new design, didn't appear in any anime, and I frankly think it's fu*k ugly. Hell at the time that this game came out there still weren't even any Macross Plus toys. Other than Yamato doing the Macross VFX2 1/72 VF-19A Excalibur (a repaint with fixes after the 1/72 YF-19), and making the 1/100 Macross VFX2 VB-6 Koenig Monster (which a lot of people hate the way it turned out), no major companies have even bothered touching the other non-anime valkyries AFAIK.
  13. Those little trading figure sets of valkyries look meh. And damn, if the missiles launching from the protect armor VF-0 don't look like tentacles. Interesting that there's a fast packed VF-1 as well.
  14. I feel that the VF-11 has a better looking gerwalk than the 19 or 21. When I do eventually get this baby, it's going to be either in fighter or battroid.
  15. It looks kind of out of proportion, some parts seem chunky, other parts not. I dunno. Especially battroid mode, it really makes me think of my Bandai Fire Valkyrie, and that isn't a good feeling. Just it conjures up that image to me, though it's no where near as bad. Just something makes me think of this VF-25 in that manner...
  16. The newest actor playing Kyle Reese is also playing Pavel Chekov in the new Star Trek. I can't really see him playing Kyle Reese. He looks to much like a kid, and not a tough one at that. But I'll wait to see how this/these movie/movies turn/s out.
  17. Maybe Bandai can take a crack at doing the VB-6 Koenig Monster... I know I'd buy a Q-rea, especially if it were 1/60 scale. It doesn't need buttloads of metal either.
  18. I'm wondering what companies are around making the Variable Fighters and mecha in this time period. Is the VF-25 made by Shinsei Industries? A newcomer? Is the VF-171 still a General Galaxies product? And hot damn, was it my imagination or did the Macross Quarter have something more than a PPB system? It's interesting to see the destroids make a come back in combat form, as opposed to fire fighting or "Labor/Patlabor" usage.
  19. Right, since the spoiler notice is over. This episode was AH-MAZE-ING (sic). All it lacked was the VF-171 in action, and getting to see Sheryl's goods uncovered. I wonder how much trouble Alto is going to be in for losing his VF-25... So much for Lucca's pet ghosts.
  20. If that model kit is anything like the M7 1/144 model kits: SKIP. It looks nice there, but it's nice and made up already.
  21. Wait and see how durable the new 1/60 VF-1 is. On the 1/48, you need to be careful not to stress or break the backpack hinge (the infamous BP8 piece). I figure that the new 1/60 backpack hinge would have been beefed up a bit, but I don't know. Hence the wait and see. Besides, the 1/60 VF-1 standing next to the other 1/60 scale valkyries would be correctly sized. The VF-1 is a smaller fighter than the YF/VF-19, YF-21/VF-22, VF-0, and SV-51. The other valkyries are similar sized to the VF-1 I believe (in particular the VF-4 and VF-11).
  22. I'm preparing to laugh my ass off at Piccollo when those pictures come out.
  23. Easier to get into than Macross 7 by far, and won't cause you to cringe as your friends look at you incredulously after a few episodes. I'm digging this series.
  24. Someone had posted some magazine scans somewhere that showed Lucca's RVF-25, and what looked like a VF-25 in Lucca's scheme (it didn't have the radar dish or other Elint gear). I'm guessing that it was that that we saw in the episode to the right of the Q-raus.
  25. I'm betting Alto will eventually die. It would be a very big twist and be very different from the past series. He'll die and we'll all be saying "okay so when is he going to show back up like Gamlin?... Anytime now... Maybe in the last episode... Holy crap they really killed him!"
