Just curious as to where that info is from redwolf. Because the best place for Macross series information is the Macross Compendium, as it's recognized by Big West.

That little green monster with tentacles that's supposed to be Ranka's pet sure has an interest in Nanase in that avatar of yours. I think she's right to be afraid of it. A girl being close to a monster with tentacles can never end well... -

Well "weakest weapon system" was meant with the meaning of "most difficult to use", since in order to aim it the pilot would have to move the valkyrie around to line up the target, as opposed to the VF-11 and YF/VF-19 which could swivel the barrel about to aim without having to move the valkyrie. I certainly didn't mean that it didn't have punch. Although to be honest I think all the head lasers look fragile. Hell the YF-19 had its head laser broken off during the battle with Guld. I also finally put my finger on what was nagging in my mind about the Ex-Gear rifle that's included in the VF-25. Its shape reminds me of the HK G11 experimental rifle that used caseless ammunition. It has that box-like look to it, except that the Ex-Gear rifle is longer. -

I just realized something else after going back and watching through previous episodes. The gunpod isn't always mounted in the same place. In episode 4 and 7 the gunpod is mounted in the traditional area for valkyries (under the arms), with the gunpod butt resting just under the end of the shield. In episode 12 the gunpods are mounted more forward on the VF-25 and can still be stowed under the body in gerwalk (not possible on the VF-1, VF-11, and 19-series) at some points. When Temjin is chasing after Alto in the Q-rea, the gunpod is mounted under the arms again. Then in episode 13 the gunpod is stored forward of the arms again, during the dogfight with Brera at the end of the episode. Looks like there's two areas the gunpod can be mounted in fighter mode. The hands stay out in fighter mode like on the VF-0, you can see the fingers on the underside of the VF-25 in episode 12 just after Alto flies away from Temjin who began shooting his rifle at him. -

Not only busting through a building but having little visible damage from doing so (can't remember if the fixed head laser was busted or not). I'm glad that the VF-25 didn't carry over the fixed head laser from the YF-21/VF-22, that has to be the weakest weapon system on the 21/22. -

Nanase will eat pineapple salad. Brings a whole new meaning to "someone's going to eat it", huh. Sheryl and Ranka are too obvious. Either that or they find the Galaxy Fleet and Sheryl is supposed to return. -
Wash off the water proof soap, and splash Alto after midnight. He becomes a she. Heh, when watching episode 13, when Brera came in guns blazing to protect Ranka I immediately said "get away from her, you B**CH!", and half expected the Vajra Queen to hiss at him.

Make sure that the Miria figure is properly placed in as far as she will go into the Q-rau, and as far back as possible. Her forearms should be resting on the plastic interior of the cockpit right by her folding screen. Don't forget that the shoulder hatches on the Q-rau can pull out a bit when opening, so they need to be pushed back in when closing.

Quite a satisfying feeling when you hit someone out of a super.

So Ranka is preggers with a vajra queen belly burster? She's part human, part zentraedi, part fast pack, and part vajra, and a partial clone of the original Ranka. The vajra queen we saw was taken out of a previous clone that was a failure.

Maybe Sheryl will get the VF-25 we thought was a placeholder in early animation. Blue and white, like Alto/Gilliam's scheme but with blue instead of red. -
Look on the bright side, Macross isn't live action (yet...), so there's no costumes or props to hunt after like with Star Trek, Star Wars, and Battlestar Galactica.

I thought he was pulling a cobra maneuver like Shin in Macross Zero, except he went into gerwalk right way instead of using it to slow down the VF-25 so he could transform unlike Shin's VF-0 which had more limitations. -

Maybe Ozma will kill Brera and find out afterwards that he killed Ranka's brother. Lots of drama to be had on that route too. I just hope Ozma survives. I like him, he hits and kicks people. -

My 1/48 VF-1J Miria doesn't have the gap in the exhaust on the left side. Neither does my Low Vis v1. I'm not going to check my VF-1A Max, since I'd have to move some stuff to get at it... So I can't check for the leg stripe either. Picture 4 is a QC issue. The plugs on my three 1/48s are fine on both sides. -

I just noticed that the gunpod is stored way forward of where the arms are in fighter mode on the VF-25. At 18:25 of episode 13, when Alto transforms from gerwalk to fighter and tries to evade Brera's VF-27, we see the underside. It looks like it's stored where the head on the VF-1 would be. Considering how long the nose section of the VF-25 is, it doesn't seem to be a problem of being too far forward. I don't see why it wouldn't be feasible to use Ex-Gears as powered armor for miclone infantry. Something that protects the user more and has better weaponry, like a miclone sized Q-rau/Q-rea, Nj-Ger, or even regults would be better for mechanized infantry. In one of the other threads someone brought up the point of the VF-25 being an optional 2-seater that doesn't have an Ex-Gear for a co-pilot. When Mihail brought Ranka, it's not like we know her to have any experience in using an Ex-Gear so he might not have brought one for her to use. Same for Alto and his VF-25. It looks like he was able to set up a co-pilot seat, but didn't have any spare Ex-Gears stored with it. While Sheryl has used an ex-gear and may have had training since that episode, it's not like one seemed to be available for her to use while going with Mihail. Maybe the co-pilot can be equipped with an Ex-Gear if one is available. -

Grace is going to come back as "The Boss/The Joy", and fly around in a white VF-27 with a snake symbol on it. It was nice to see the rear facing anti-aircraft lasers being used again, even if Alto didn't hit Brera. Nice to know those things aren't just decorative. -

Oh, I don't know. The YF-21/VF-22 is pretty damned thin and it has room for micro-missiles, not to mention that the VF-22 can carry two reaction missiles. I definitely agree that it doesn't look like the VF-25 stores any missiles in the legs after seeing those designs! I guess that with how modular the weapons systems add-ons are for the VF-25 that it could have been designed without internal weapons storage bays. Thanks for posting those pics grss1982. I guess we'll have to wait and see if it ever fires off missiles again without fast-packs or under-wing missiles. edit: azrael beat me to the punch about the fast/armored packs. And, zinjo makes a really good point about the VF-25's adaptability as a multi-role fighter.
