  1. I admit it, I'm silly. And, I was hungry and wanted a burger. Back onto technology, I wonder if the Q-rea has any kind of SWAG system or some kind of energy reinforcement system, since Kuran had taken some direct hits from Brera's gun in episode 9 and didn't seem to take any damage until he hit her Q-rea some more.
  2. Huh, I didn't realise the VF-1D didn't have that giant screw thing on the backpack hinge area. There's no detail on what were the "hip-locks" on the old 1/60s.
  3. Maybe the Galaxy Fleet has a Macross Half. Or a Macross Quarter with yellow colors, since the Galaxy Fleet seems to like bright colors. Then we could call it a Macross Quarter with Cheese. Seriously though, I do wonder what the Galaxy Fleet has. If they have a New Macross Class battle section, or something substituting for it.
  4. Alto was coming in with a sparkly aura surrounding the VF-25 around 12:52. Alto is a tori no hito like Shin! So when Ranka goes disappearing into another part of the Galaxy with a new Vajra ship at the end of the series(her little green friend grows into a ship, like Ryo-oki from Tenchi Muyo), Alto can follow her in his wrecked VF-25, because you know he's going to wreck it again.
  5. No problem, VF-25 Messiah. I should have realized it was a general statement! Doh!
  6. I am quite aware of the distinct sound that Japanese Rs make. I've had many debates with native-English speakers as to why they shouldn't take the shortcut of pronouncing the Japanese R as the English "L": Ramen = Lamen, Ranma = Lanma, Kawamori = Kawamoli. While it can sound like an "L" depending on the speaker, it often to me sounds more like first part of a rolling R from other languages. When I originally listened to it it did sound like "ritoru quiin" to me. Upon listening to it over and over, I developed some doubt. The "to wa" threw me off on the second part. I agree that the second word is "quiin/queen".
  7. Sounds like"Bitoru", but not "victor/bikuta". Second word doesn't sound like "queen/kuiin", sounds more like "kuido" or "kuinto".
  8. My bet is on Battle 25 being closer to Battle 13 than Battle 7 (though we never saw the rebuilt Battle 7 completed). I'm also willing to bet it's larger than the Battle 7. I hope we'll see Battle 25 in action sometime in the series. With President Glass onboard the Battle 25 in previous battles, I could understand why NUNS might be hesitant to take that ship into battle.
  9. alcoholic beverages = being able to fight while you're drunk
  10. The way they explain why the heroes get to pilot the VF-25 works for me in Macross Frontier. Private Military company doing evaluations of a new variable fighter to get combat data. In macross 7 Physica was killed when his VF-17 was destroyed. Gamlin was downed in his VF-17. The VF-19F pilots were blown away during Operation Stargazer, and Docker was downed in his VF-19S though he survived. Mylene had her VF-11kai MAXL get messed up, and the VF-19kai was completely destroyed. So it's not like the hero mecha are spared. I HATED the way the VF-11s were cannon fodders in M7 too. In Macross Frontier, Alto's already lost one VF-25, and Mihail's VF-25 just got destroyed as well. Lucca's RVF-25 just got damaged. And Ozma was injured pretty badly when his VF-25S took a hit. Now that we've seen the VF-171 do a PPB punch (or repulse field punch), it makes me wonder if the VF-25 has this technology.
  11. That's how they should have handled him in Episode III.
  12. Thanks for getting the screenshot xeros! I still want an Appale Genki VF-0 toy (without crumbly shoulders or elbows)...
  13. I dunno about no casualties. Island 1 took a hit which damaged the downtown area and caused an unkown amount of deaths and injuries (we see people getting blown out the hole into space). The vajra gunships were firing at things which were exploding, when Sheryl woke up and made up her mind to attempt to fly herself and injured Mihail away from the gunship.
  14. Ranka shall not succeed as she cannot make cookies taste good even. Poor Ranka, practice makes perfect.
  15. Armored Gerwalk. We haven't seen that since the sketches of the VF-1 Armored Gerwalk. And the VF-25 is transformable with Armor Packs! WOOT!
  16. Sheryl gets one more point for going to school to learn to fly. One more thing to appeal to Alto.
  17. Bandai does exclusive mail-order stuff, like really important characters from Saint Seiya as Saint Cloth Myth toys (Pope Shion, Pandora, Hades, Poseidon, Athena). I wouldn't be surprised if Bandai released a mail-order only like Lucca's RVF-25.
  18. I dunno. Macross Frontier has a lot more options than Macross Plus. Macross Plus has as possibilities for female figures: Myung Sharon Apple: normal form Sharon Apple: short hair Sharon Apple: mermaid Sharon Apple: Wanna Be an Angel concert form Lucy Myung's friend (forgot her name) Macross Frontier has the possibilities for female figures: Sheryl (multiple outfits possible, for multiple figures) Ranka (multiple outfits possible, for multiple figures) Nanase Kuran Kuran macronized Kuran Kuran micronized Grace Cathy Canaria Raramia Nene Monica Mena Lam Ranshe Mae Miss Macross (forgot her name) Alto-hime -especially if he's in sakura-hime azuma bunsho get-up. It doesn't surprise me that Megahouse is working on this Kuran Kuran figure with Alter, since Megahouse belongs to bandai...
  19. Thanks xeros, but I still couldn't get it to work. Argh!
  20. Cute figure, can't wait to see the finalized version in color. Hopefully this will lead to other Macross Frontier characters.
  21. I couldn't get a screenshot of it, but around 18:51 in episode 14, on the second missile volley that Alto fires, in the upper left corner of the screen one of the missiles is an Appale Genki can from Macross Zero. It's there for an instant. I used Windows Media Player classic to go frame by frame, but I forgot how to take screenshots (I'm using the CCC supplied WMPC, which I believe has screenshots disabled).
  22. I'm guessing V-virus (vajra virus), or some virus that has to do with the formation of purple crystals. Either that or midichlorians.
  23. All pilots who are downed in the line of duty should have a bowl of pineapple salad placed upon their graves, or dumped with them in the Frontier's soylent green vat.
  24. Wolfx is correct that the VF-17 is capable of going into a standard gerwalk mode where the hands are useable, seen in Macross Digital Mission VFX and Macross VFX2. To be honest I've always hated the M7 VF-17 gerwalk with the arms swept back and the elbow lasers pointing forwards. Hobbes, I'd guess that the VF-171 gunpod is an upgrade as it looks very similar, but doesn't appear to have the forward grip on the left side of the frame. ChronoReverse, you are correct that the 17s go into gerwalk mode in the OP of M7.
  25. Sheryl has the best chance at winning Alto. The reason being that they are both similar. They are stubborn, both used to fame, and they write their own destiny. They have more in common than Alto and Ranka. It's more like Alto is the older brother that is concerned with Ranka's future in relation to her dreams, while Ozma is the older brother concerned with her future in regards to her safety. Alto's relationship is changing from the older brother role a bit, as he's starting to get feelings for her. Alto and Sheryl treat each other more like equals. Alto treats Ranka more like a kid. Does Ranka have a chance at winning Alto? Damn straight, otherwise there wouldn't be a love triangle. At this point in time, I feel Sheryl still overall has the upper hand. Ranka is making a lot of progress though by going for her dreams and becoming an idol, and Alto sees that. One of the most telltale things though was that Alto chose to go with Sheryl to Gallia IV and left Mihail to give Ranka the bad news. Et bienvenue à macrossworld Rubi. C'est pas facile de communiquer dans un autre langue.
