  1. I'm not a big fan of loseable parts. The less that needs to come off the valkyrie that can be lost, the better.
  2. Waiting for VF-4, with reservations on look and how bad the parts-formers transformation it will have. At least someone is doing the VF-4. *hint-hint Yamato*
  3. Good points wolfx! Ranka has parallels to Minmay, but what's great is that she's a different character going along a different path. She's not a carbon copy. Some people hated Minmay (and still do). Ranka has had some palm-to-forhead moments, and some moments that have annoyed me. But she doesn't seem like a hateable character, much less a war criminal. Young, naive, innocent, maybe even a bit dumb sometimes (when don't we do stupid things when we're young?). Her heart is in the right place. It's a matter of seeing what her actions and reasons will be. For her? For others? Or a bit of both? Okay, crap wait. RichterX's argument wins. With a face like that, Ranka's a war criminal!
  4. Hmmm, I wonder if it's just going to be those four in the HGIF figure collection, or if they haven't finished sculpting the other figures. 4 seems too few for a trading figure set. I would hope for Klan Klan, Michel, and Ozma to get figure treatment.
  5. I have that Linna figure you posted a link to David Hingtgen, and it's no where near worth the suggested retail price. It should have been priced around $20-range. It's still a really nice looking figure, just flimsy feeling though.
  6. Ranka is a girl that's still growing up. What I would find interesting is if she develops a split personality when she gets her memories back. Maybe she wasn't always the nice innocent girl we know as Ranka Lee. She's an interesting enough character. I want to see what happens to her, and what good/bad decisions she makes.
  7. Love the Myth Cloth collection in particular. Nice collection period!
  8. As usual no screencaps from me, but I noticed back in episode 5, when Ranka is throwing stuff at Ozma. For one frame, when the wok hits Ozma in the face, there is a white and purple mecha toy that's behind the wok, which looks a bit like a VF-25 in battroid mode. Maybe it's a toy of the VF-25, YF-24, some slightly older model we haven't seen, or maybe just a random mecha toy?
  9. Looking at the M7 VF-22 sketch, so that's where Kawamori got the idea from to put fast packs on the wings.
  10. If bandai stays true to form from the past two decades of making valkyries, then the intake covers will be fixed (see 1/55 VF-1 and 1/65 VF-19 and VF-17). It sure does look like it's part of the thigh.
  11. The huge space between the shield and the left arm is really bad looking, and has been that way for quite a while on the different prototype pics we've seen. I really hope that there is a way to get that shield closer to the arm, because if there isn't, it's another thing that marks the VF-25 down.
  12. Might want to wait and see what Bandai is cooking up for the 1/100 scale valkyrie toys, as the VF-1 was listed.
  13. Those are wicked awesome customs! I absolutely love the VF-11B Stealth! The low vis YF-19 and the VF-22 are cool.
  14. The YF-19 and YF-21 as 1/60 scale toys are thin in all modes and look fairly good. The 1/60 VF-25 fighter mode looks decent, not incredibly chunky, though the legs are a bit big and look like they hang a bit low. The battroid mode still looks chunky, which is not a good look for something that's supposed to look anorexic. If the reason it looks chunky is for keeping with the appearance of the chogokin line, to look chunky, then it's probably going to stay looking chunky unless there's enough complaints and they actually listen and do something about it. Doubtful though. It's looking more and more that Bandai just isn't making the kind of Macross toys that I would put money down for. Chunky perfect-transformation toys, possibly partsformer valkyries, crappy looking gashapon... The trading figures have my interest though. That bandai has the Frontier license locked down sucks. I'd love to see a Yamato 1/60 VF-25, because they've proven they can make good looking valkyries. Bandai's efforts in the 1/60 scale is less than impressive, and it seems purposefully so.
  15. Well there's three things that can be made from the SDF-1 Macross mold: SDF-1 Macross TV series version SDF-1 Macross DYRL version SDF-4 Global of the 117th Research Fleet
  16. I own a number of Saint Cloth Myth figures. They're awesome figures. Bandai can produce some really awesome stuff. They also produce some not so awesome stuff. Regardless of how the Macross 7 toys came out as chunky pieces of crap 10 years ago, the VF-25 is still looking inappropriately chunky. They are not making it to their bar of standards that they've established with the awesome things they can do. And that is without taking into consideration the standards that Yamato has set with valkyrie toys. With the number of scenes taking place in atmosphere and with the number of magazine articles showing of the VF-25, I wouldn't say that the thinness we expect is due to the blackness of space making the VF-25 look thin. Especially when you consider that in most space scenes they're using Super Packs, which beef them up. The VF-25 should be anorexic looking in battroid. Bandai = not doing it right.
  17. Awwwww... Well hopefully they'll unveil something about the VF-11 at Chara Hobby before the end...
  18. Still looking chunky. This valkyrie should look anorexic in battroid mode, not like a chunker. They've improved on it a bit, but it's still looking massive and chunky.
  19. Subs. Most dubs sound horrible, regardless of whether or not you've heard the original voices. There's also the thing when the music is changed. Although the only series I liked the new music with was Orguss 02. The rest, bleaugh. The Vision of Escaflowne shown on Fox is a particularly good example of bad dubbing and music butchery. I must have the ability to take off the subtitles though. I hate DVDs that have hard subtitles that are permanently there. *cough-cough Macross Plus Movie Edition cough-cough*
  20. Chief Bowman is saying in a nutshell "this is me in a nutshell and I love the VF-171". I doubt that those ex-gears are any more armored than what Alto, Michel, and Lucca were using. It's just that those soldiers are wearing uniforms/jumpsuits as opposed to school clothes.
  21. That's the Alpha-Omega scaled Klan Klan figure. I meant, "where's Klan Klan as part of the HGIF Macross Frontier character figures?". I certainly hope these figures are of equal (hopefully better) quality to the Evangelion Portrait figures.
  22. Hmmm, not as good as I was expecting... I'll have to see more pictures.
  23. When Lucca's acting all serious by the mini DE, he looks a lot like Hikaru Ichijo.
  24. The farthest I'm willing to go with part-swapping is removeable legs, like the old 1/60 VF-1 V1. If these 1/100 valkyries are like the prototype Yamato 1/100 VF-0, then I'll pass.
  25. Since this doesn't really fit into the other Macross Frontier toy threads now that they've been split into 1/60 and 1/100 scale toy threads. I found this picture of Bandai HGIF Macross Frontier Trading figures. Woo, Sheryl! But where's Klan Klan?!
