Hikaru followed the 80's hero religion, with classic poofy hair, loser-ish attitude, and bungling his way to the top. And suffers from the "I get knocked down, but I get up again, you're never gonna keep me down..." syndrome. This religion later evolved into the 90's-00's hero religion of "I'm screwed up and have emotional problems, something/someone traumatised me when I was a kid, I'm cold or loser-ish (I am a weenie syndrome), and I go berserk when I get flashbacks of my trauma. Did I mention that I have crap for self-esteem?" (Parn, Shinji, Shin...)

Well, as for the theory about getting it from France, Glénat publishes M7 Trash. It wouldn't be in Tokyo Pop's interest to try to get the license through Glénat, since they would have to get Kadokawa Shoten's permission anyway. In any case, I've been told by my fiancée that they haven't tried getting the license from Glénat. Edit after asking confirmation from my fiancee : Kadokawa forbids sublicensing on the Macross 7 Trash contract anyway, so the sublicensing theory doesn't work.

Lift on the bootlegging/pirating ban
Sumdumgai replied to Duke Togo's topic in MW Site News & Member Feedback
Well, we'll just have to wait and see what Shawn says. It's probably best if we keep cool for now, think stuff over, and wait and see what happens. In other words: Sharpen those pitchforks, ready the torches, take a deep breath and wait to see if the witch is as heavy as a duck. Because, logically, if she's made of wood, then she'll weigh as much as a duck and float in water! Seriously though, before considering any kind of fan retaliation, let's see what happens (in reference to the YF-19 in the Robotech comics). -
as i siad. if it is not used in the actual comic it;s sjtu acameo. a tribute. hell darth maul showes up in hunterx hunter. the enterpise shuttle shwos up in dragon ball. their quiet normal and fair use. Technically a cameo is illegal period, but everybody tends to overlook it as it's a form of hommage. It's even more common and widely accepted in Japan, because of the way they see such things (doujinshi for an example). But if I'm not wrong, a cameo is pretty much "officially" illegal anywhere. Quote from my fiancee (who is the Director of Collection for the manga collection at Glénat): "For an example, in one of the covers of Dragon Ball, Akira Toriyama did an hommage to the brasilian pilot, Ayrton Senna, by drawing Songoku wearing his Formula one uniform, etc, in his racing car. But the sponsor of his racing team was Marlboro, and thus, you could see the brand name and logo on the car. In Japan, nobody complained, in other countries like Brasil, it was of course very well accepted as an hommage. But in France, Marlboro sued the publishing company, Glénat... After that, they had to remove all brand names etc from their mangas... ^^;; " On a side note I now own a French collection of Macross 7 Trash!

Who would you want to date on valentine's day ?
Sumdumgai replied to vanpang's topic in Movies and TV Series
Depends on what your idea of "date" is and what your tastes are. FOOD! You said the magic words man! You come out of the theater and look at everyone: "She's my daughter! I'm promiscuous!" But, I do see your points. Although the mall and the arcade... edit: ouch, I just noticed that Mao is more popular than Sara -
Who would you want to date on valentine's day ?
Sumdumgai replied to vanpang's topic in Movies and TV Series
Does it matter if it's just a date? Unless people automatically equate date with sex... In any case she's already butt-raped Shin, so I'd advise anyone who voted for her to wear iron-underwear or the ass equivalent of a cup. -
You have a most disturbing name Capt. Bukkake... Just wanted to comment on that right now. Can't help you on your question, so I shall let someone else answer.

Or everyone should drive pintos like my old Highschool PE coach. When some smart-ass said "what if I steal your car?" about something, he replied: "Go ahead. But, I drive a pinto and its got a full tank of gas, so you've been warned. " Didn't know the jetfires had blunted noses... Imagine the problems they'd have if cheap 1/60 valks could hit the market... Screw impaling the family dog on lawn darts, imagine the dog being impaled by a little kid throwing 1/60 valks off the roof (or just running around making stabbing motions). Kid: "Fast-food bad! Fast-food kills! Fast-food bad! Fast-food kills!"

Original non-FP here also. Already had a leg break off to my utter horror (luckily my fiancée managed to super-glue the leg back and it's functional again). My problem is with the shield in fighter mode. The damn thing doesn't want to stay in place and keeps popping off. VF-11 resculpt in 1/48 please! *wink-wink* *knudge-knudge* Ya know what I'm saying?

There's the Joon's TV series Hikaru VF-1J. I got mine from a store in LA back around '94-'96 from Banzai Comics and Animation (they no longer exist, they went bankrupt about a year ago). At the time I thought it was an official valkyrie, although I was suspicious since it was selling for $30. Anyway mine came in a box like the VF-1J Max and Miria like you've got in the pic, but mine's a Hikaru 1J, gray with a red stripe.

Which period do you want to live in the Macross
Sumdumgai replied to vanpang's topic in Movies and TV Series
I'd choose post-2012, before 2040. (Haven't played M3 yet though...) 1) We get a lot of valkyrie development such as the VF-4, the VF-14, the VF-3000, the VF-5000, and the VF-11. And who knows what other valkries might exist that we don't know about because we haven't seen them? 2) Can go off on whatever colony mission (Megaroad class or New Macross Class) with deep Space Exploration. 3) You'll get the benefits of living through the M+ and M7 timeline assuming you aren't CF. 4) Get to watch DYRL in the theaters. -
I'd buy that for a dollar.... BWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!

We'd need a large force of robots to build this... how about labors! And of course we'd need a genius programmer to create a new operating system to boost efficiency... Why don't we call this new system- HOS! edit: spelling

That sucks. You could always make an addition to the blacklist if worse comes to worse.

Guess you've never heard of a hug pillow...

I wasn't aware that anyone from Yamato posted here. shhhh! You'll give the boy a complex!

Warera Rori Konda Put those names together and you get a rather amusing quote, which should say bundles about why they always do shows with pubescent or pre-pubescent kids... And I don't mean "rolling computer"!

I remember seeing a site before where a guy had a transformers costume that he could transform with him in it, but I can't remember if it was one of these... If someone manages to make a valkyrie costume that is transformable with them in it (and not be injured, maimed, or killed during the process)...

Don't buy valks! They're made from people! Well... ground up otaku, so I don't know if you should count them as people....

The size of an artbook! (than thing by it says "this is animation-"something or another...

Okay, in this pic and the other pic shown earlier, we see a size difference and it's what I was expecting. What's the pissing and moaning about for the idea of a 1/48 VF-0? I'm sure there'll be people dismissing the idea of a 1/48 anyway because of their fanatacism... 1/48 Monster not a bad idea... j/k Although, if people will by it and Yamato wants to make it, why not? They're supposedly doing that 1/60. Why do a redesign of the VF-1? SK's already done the VF-0 and the VF-EX valks (SW-XA1 and SW-XA2). Maybe he'd put swing bars on a redesign! Then the chunky-monkeys would be more perfect-transformation than the 1/48 VF-1.
