Sorry to bring this back up from the dead, but WOOHOO!!!!!!!! The deputy shopper that I got the Q-rau through kept on trying to get us a refund and he got us the refund!!!! After my fiancee and I had given up, he's been trying for the past couple of months to get a refund and the post office eventually disregarded Chronopost and gave the refund! Heh, this is like icing on the cake! Since, I got a Q-rau finally on my birthday recently, and ... It was a whole Q-rau! Not broken, not in pieces, no qc issues! Flat-butt Miria and everything! Ahhhh... This has been a good day! My Macross The Tribute CD arrived today as well! Oh yeah, the deputy shop was Crescent Shop! After having done so much for me, Masamichi (the shop owner) deserves some advertising! If you need a good deputy shop go to this guy! http://www.crescent-shop.com/

My un-educated guess is the retooling cost. If it's gonna have the self-contained heatshield like the rest of the 1/48 line, the chestplate would probably have to be elongated to accomodate the longer heatshield. Resculpted wing-tips (VT-1 and VE-1) Resculpted backpack (VT-1 and VE-1) Resculpted fast-packs (VT-1 and VE-1) Newly sculpted sensor stuff and radar-dome for the VE-1. The VF-1D looks like it would be the easiest to retool since it has the least to resculpt.

You got that right! Although it's not hard to put Disney to shame... Nice review areaseven! I thought you summed up Azumanga Daioh pretty good! Maybe the summer heat's causing a number of our members to be a bit cranky? Here's links to two tests to see what character you are (no point in posting a seperate thread): http://www.quizilla.com/users/EvilNaokiIID...%20are%20you%3F http://www.geocities.com/padplace/quiz/azumangaquiz.html I got Osaka on both

How about "Inu"? It means "dog" in Japanese.

YUM. I dunno, there's something about her crotch that disturbs me... Like the bulge... A man and a woman?! What's that?! A man and a woman!

You have my condolences. Hang in there and be there for your daughter.

I was browsing today and saw that Yamato put some info up on the VF-0. http://www.yamato-toys.com/items/detail.php?gid=319 Any ideas why it says "VF-0D S"? edit: Try reading the page through an alta-vista translation! "1/100 deformation models VF-0D S " and "Deformation to 3 forms with the replacement which seriously considered action figure characteristic was actualized is the completely new series."

This link might explain a little bit to tell you what you have http://www.alohaanime.com/macrosslimitedcel.html I saw these going for about $450 (for the pair) at AX from this place. This will give you an idea of what they might be worth. Of course if you don't want them any more I'd happily take them off your hands! Seriously though, nice find when you were in Japan!

Do You Remember Love? The Song.......
Sumdumgai replied to fansubs2000's topic in Movies and TV Series
Two new versions I just found today on the Anime Toonz Vol.2 cd 5) Ai Oboeteimasuka Nigel Richards Remix (vocals by Maria Kawamura) 6) Ai Oboeteimasuka DJ Seol Remix (vocals by Maria Kawamura) Sooooo... Ai Oboeteimasuka sung by the seiyuu of Naga the Serpent... She sounds a bit whiny on the second remix. I honestly can't recommend getting the cd unless you NEED to have another remix of Ai Oboeteimasuka... That techno beat or whatever the hell its called (I just call it a funky-funky-beat) just ruins all the songs. It was a real waste of good talent, like with Inoue Kikuko in volume 1. -
Looks like a cross between a valkyrie and a hardsuit from BGC...

Which Street Fighter Character are you?
Sumdumgai replied to Gaijin's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Uh, but I'm a guy and I have a fiancée! Although the penguin suit isn't bad... I'd prefer to wear a Suppi-kun suit instead! Heh, I did spend most of all 4 days in the dealers room at AX. -
I too don't give a rat's hairy keister if there are removeable pieces. Just give me my anime line-art YF-19! In any scale! Careful what you wish for, or you might get a fugly YF-19 that operates just like the 1/100 VF-0 (or the bandai Macross 7 VF-19 "transforming" model)... I'll celebrate if the 19FP ever gets released and looks good. But I can really understand the design problems if they're trying for high quality like on the 1/48 VF-1.

Bandai Entertainment Cracks Down on DVD Piracy
Sumdumgai replied to treatment's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
are you kidding? Have you ever stopped by their booth at frank and sons? Nothing but bootlegs against the wall! They even have a TV showing those bootlegs to everybody. They've always sold bootlegs at AX, so it's no surprise to me that they got cracked down on. Geez, if you've ever stopped by the kawaii anime store across the street from Pasadena City College you'll find only bootleg cds... Hous of Anime sold me a set of gashapon that they had glued to together and was their promo piece... The thing is they didn't warn me when I ordered, so I was expecting some new gashapon still in bags, not some glued together crap... Just wondering since this has to do with bootlegs. What would you guys do if you went to the equivalent of a Suncoast, a Virgin Megastore, or Target, and you found bootleg anime cds and bootleg dvds for sale? Like made in Taiwan cds and Chinese dvds of movies. Bootlegs of cds that are produced by JVC, Bandai, and some other big companies. -
And here's just a pic for fun. UN Spacy pays respects to the downed pilot. The funny thing is that the pilot figure is like the only thing that was undamaged! edit: added a couple of unhappy smileys... edit2: My fiancée just finished calling them again. Basically they told us they don't care, it's none of their business, and that it's the fault of EMS and EMS should pay, because the package was sent from Japan... And of course, since it was sent by EMS and not by Chronopost (even though Chronopost handles EMS packages sent to France) they say that it doesn't concern them. Plus they were really nasty about it. That's French customer service for you... The whole company is full of it, I swear. When my fiancée tried calling the main office of Chronopost, they redirected her back to customer service, saying "we don't deal with complaints, customer service does." So it's all wonderful, we have to complain to customer service about customer service.... Basically we're probably not getting reimbursed. Unfortunately I don't have the time to go to one of those customer protection agencies, since I'm leaving to go on vacation and visit my family back in the US. Plus to get them to do anything you have to pay something like €40-50. *sigh* Well I'm hoping to go to the Macross panel at AX this year at the least. So this is probably the end of this thread, since Chronopost refuses to cooperate. I'll see what the sender can do there in Japan, but I doubt he can do much. At least he's been really cooperative and has been really helpful! My soon to be father-in-law guestimated the amount of weight it would have taken to crush the box and q-rau this badly. His estimation was 300-500 pounds minimum to do damage like that. So the lesson is: -Don't ever get stuff delivered to you from EMS Japan if you live in France, because Chronopost will shaft you if the package is damaged. -If you do do that, if the package has been damaged don't accept it. -French customer service sucks.
-
The damage was much worse than the other pics showed. Believe me, you couldn't use these parts to fix anything on another Q-rau.
-
Basically Chronopost is still giving me the shaft. They're based in France, they have nothing to do with UPS (I see the occasional UPS truck here). Since I think I'm screwed anyway, I took the Q-rau out of the packaging to asses how bad the damage was. This is gonna hurt to look at for you guys with Q-raus. I'm going to post the pics in a few hours, I still gotta get them out of my digital camera (plus I gotta go somewhere for a little bit). You don't want these pieces, everything is damaged. And, I mean everything... Gonna try to contact chronopost again, but I doubt anythng is going to happen...

"I'd buy that for a dollar!" Looks nice, but I only like it in gerwalk, but that's just me. I only liked the vb-6 in gerwalk anyway. Looks like it's the closest I'll get to owning a destroid monster by Yamato... But hey, this one is cool. Just missing his little pea-shooter thingy...

Congratulations Graham!

Shin: Mao, if I knew that was the last time I'd ever speak to Deadgar, I would have thought of something better to say... Flashback Shin: Hi Deadgar. Edgar: Hi Shin. *dies* OR Claudia is really Edgar after some major hormone therapy and sex changing. Roy gets all depressed when whats-her-face steps on a meaner land-mine. Edgar is depressed after Shin bites the dust. Roy and Edgar get together... Oh god, I can't belive I wrote this...

Myung sings Voices in a whisper while Isamu is hypnotised by Sharon. Somehow Isamu hears this whispering voice through the closed canopy, from really far away, over the sounds of his engines. It sounds pretty magical to me...
