I need to see this movie and crap my pants from being freaked out. I really don't see it as becoming a pg-13 move. If it did, it would be a warning in advance: this movie is gonna suck. Thankfully it looks nice and freaky and violent.

Before I got on the internet the only way I could find out anything about the original Macross story to even get a basic idea was to read those Jack Mckinney robotech books, since it was damned hard to find robotech to rent (and I wasn' going to dish out for 2 episodes a tape for buying). This was after I had watched Macross Plus, and wanted to find out about the rest of the Macross series. I wanted a VF-1 valkyrie soooooo bad. But the old takatoku and bandai valkyries cost an arm and a leg, and then some. But I managed to pick up a Joons for about $30 and I was happy. I prefered the looks of the 1A even back then, but I hate the look of the chunky-monkey A heads. Tried having the gunpod store under the valkyrie in fighter mode but it always looked wrong and kept falling. It did bother me though that it was so.... chunky and that the legs only went forwards or backwards. Fast forward to yamato and the M+ valks and I was sooooooooooooooooooo excited. Especially at the news they would come out in the US. Then Harmony Gold happened and I really started to hate their guts. Then there came the 1/60 VF-1 and I was sooooo excited! I got a max right away. Then OMG 1/48, perfect transformation! OMGWTFHAX! And it was awesome Long live yamato! Bring us more! We need more!

Your statement lacks something... context. True, the VF-2SS is the first valkyrie to ever be shown getting stuck in mid-transformation. But you left out WHY it got stuck halfway between fighter and battroid mode. The Valkyrie II in question was hit through the upper left side of the torso, a few feet in from the shoulder joint, right where the fighter mode fuselage folds in half to form the front and back of the battroid. Obviously it damaged or froze some of the mechanical components in the transformation process, and thus locked the Valkyrie in a very undignified and vulnerable position. 384744[/snapback] I saw the Macross II movie version, I dont recall seeing damage on the valkyrie when it got jammed. But then again I haven't watched Macross II since the mid 90s. Damn I feel old now! And LowViz, the "how embarassing" was about the VF-2 getting jammed while transforming. Jamming guns and running out of ammo isn't embarassing (unless you're Revolver Ocelot in MGS3), having your valkyrie jam mid transformation is. Having energy weaponry is the way to go on limbs and other parts. That way you don't have explosive munitions to blow apart your plane if you're hit.

I was hoping to see the VF-1 valks coming in at the end of the show and seeing Roy getting transfered to the Macross and seeing cameo appearances of the original series characters (Misa, Claudia, the bridge bunnies).

I'm guessing that maybe it would be too damned expensive to use those materials, or maybe they were too heavy, or maybe they weren't fit for use on aircraft, or maybe maybe maybe... I am guessing they used similar material for the shields of the later valkyries like the VF-11 and the 19 series. I would like to see a comparison of the 1/60 VF-0 pilot with a 1/48 VF-1 low vis pilot.

Mao buttraped Shin with her stealth attack. It looked so painful. You could see her fingers pushed cloth in, because it took effort for her to pull out and you could see his cheeks vibrate. OUCH! Now that I think about it. Macross II valkyries are the only valkyries I've seen get jammed during transformatoin. Another strike against them, since I don't ever recall seeing a valkyrie getting jammed mid transformation in SDF:Macross, DYRL, Macross Plus, or even Macross Zero with their test platform valks (I've only seen a few episodes of M7). Yeah in M+ the gunpod jams on a VF-11, but the valkyrie itself didn't get stuck while transforming! How embarassing!

I like the VF-1, VF-4, VF-11, and the YF-19 in gerwalk. The VF-2 valkyries can crash and burn, burn, burn.

Watsuki created that succesful series Rurouni Kenshin. But his editor and assistants kept him grounded and kept him from doing crazy bat-poopie insane stuff. After Watsuki gave the boot to some assistants, you got the jinchuu arc (not so good). Shin and Mao should have wound up together, Sara should have been incinerated in a nuclear explosion, and Roy should have died and been brought back to life through cloning. You see, whenever there is danger to the world, Roy will be brought back to life. He gets his memories through his DNA like Ripley in Alien 4. God my brain hurts from coming up with this retarded stuff.
