White was the white suggested by the instructions, Mr. Color 316, White FS17875, dulled down from gloss a little bit using Mr. Flat Base, Smooth. The black and green were the supplied decals. I just noticed a big mistake I made a few days ago, though. Was checking this kit in reference to the one I'm making now, and I now see that I put the left "foot" on upside down!!

Finished up the main painting. Now, the fun part; figuring out where and how to mask for the body lines. I think my figure modification came out pretty good. Shoulder pads are a little big for a the First pilot. but I'm sure the different paintjob will show the difference.

Can a VF-1J be a Strike Valkyrie, or is the strike pack reserved solely for the VF-1S?

Camouflage I did a VF-1 Battroid in this pattern. Macross the First VF-1 Building right now, but at the rate I'm going, you'll probably finish before me.

Actually, I was trying to focus on her! Then, I remembered that my wife was standing right next to me, so I couldn't be only taking pictures of the cute young ones. This was a good practice for me in playing with the exposure function of my new camera. Should have played with the shutter speed a bit, too. Well, practice and learn! By the way, that is me 4th one down, if no one figured it out yet.

Yosakoi Soran Festival was held here this weekend. First couple of shots are of my "team" (actually, the kindergarten I work for), the others are from various teams at last night's "Funky Susukino".

Understandable.

Yep, the recast is out I'm holding out for an original, though, since I'm confident Valkyrie will be finishing them up soon. ガンバレ!!!!!

Are you using just a piece of sandpaper for the initial sanding part (right when you remove it from the sprue)? I highly recommend going to the nail department at your local drug store, and check out the emery board/nail finishing sticks selection. (or raid your wife's supply ) Just take a look around, and find the grit that you think will work. Used that for as long as I remember, and never had a problem. Now, for sanding the panel lines after putty, then I do use sandpaper.

If I read the instructions correctly, you've got about 3-4 hours when the temperature is between 20-25 degrees. I let it sit overnight, and sanded it no problems. I also want to says "Thanks!" for doing the hard part, coming up with a great little figure in the first place to modify!

That's why I asked if someone who has Facebook would leave a comment, directing them here. I know at least one of the members speaks English. My main wonder is if they've got any Hokkaido members, and if they'd like a new one!

I make it a point to read "Martian Chronicles" every other year or so. Never get tired of it. Damn, this is some sad news. Well, Maybe Kinokuniya will get in a bigger shipment of his books then, like they did when Sir Clarke died.

I used the color recommended by the instructions, Mr. Color 317, Gray FS36231, then did a wash using Promodelers black. It looks a lot dirtier in the photos than in real life.

The first version I saw was the CotB dub, but uncut, with Japanese subtitles. My old anime club took a long time to forgive me for showing that.

Went to a Fighters' game again yesterday. Mascot races Fighters Girls Eichi Koyano bunting Victory fireworks, inside Sapporo Dome

I really gotta try that technique when I get around to building my Yellow Sub SDF-1.

A magnifying lamp (these are really a must have, even for general building), a size 20/0 paintbrush, steady hand, and a lot of patience. Oh, and a PE set from Jasmine Models. This is the first time I've used a PE set, and I've been really happy with it. I myself just need to pay closer attention to the instructions.

I think so. Ordering from him is no trouble, though. And I'm still working on my first bottle of black, that's gotten me through 10-11 kits so far.

Very good chance I'll be seeing these guys live next month, for the third time they put on a real fun show.
