Galmet is coming to town on November 3rd, playing at a place called "Sapporo Pigsty". God, I'm excited for this show!! I've shared a couple of e-mails with the lead singer. She seems to speak English pretty well (believe it or not, she's actually singing in English) They're playing with a Sapporo band called Maverick

I'll just put this here....

Just wanted to say, that because of this thread, I grabbed all 4 of these when I saw them at Mandarake the other day. Thanks for the inspiration!

I was watching DYRL again last night, and during the opening battle scene, Misa mentions Skull, Angel, and Apollo Squadrons. Obviously, we know what Skull Squadrons markings look like. Was there ever any official indication of what Apollo and Angel marking looked like?

Someone is auctioning off a painted version now.

Just saw it today for the first time. Really liked it. Had a 5-6 minute preview of Total Recall in front of it, looks like they covered all the plot points, so no need to see that one now.

Why? Just because they do nothing but recasts, and rip on how bad the original kits are while they're doing said recast? Because they steal MWer's photos to advertise their recasts? Why would you think they have no integrity? (I fully, 100% agree with you, in case people can't tell)
-
Found part of an answer. It's a recast of some festival-only kit.

For those who are interested, the colors I used were: Mr Color 311 Grey FS36622 for the base color Mr Color 108 Character Red for the red Mr Color Flat Black for the black
-
Looking good! I didn't bother to change the head on my kit, either. Heck, can't even see it anyways! Mine was the first heavy masking I'd ever done. I'm surprised myself at how well it turned out. I honestly don't see any bad lines on yours.

Kits Power..... OK, who is he recasting now? Or did they finally come up with something original?

I COMMAND THEE TO RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE!!!!! I'm just wondering exactly how many of these kits did Yellow Sub make? My very first resin kit was the VF-4 (which I gave to a friend before I moved to Japan), and I just picked up the VF-1X a few days ago. Since this was my first foray into resin, I'd like to try and get the whole set this time.

VF-1J kai repaint for 1/60 VF-1J Hikaru Ver 2.0
Jefuemon replied to eyesonme78's topic in The Workshop!
Glad I could be an inspiration! The head is a little different on the Kai. The visor piece on the top is not straight across, it's bent a little to make it look like it's scowling. Also, the chin piece is a little more pointed. I didn't bother with either of those mods, though, since you can't see the face on the kit. On this page, you can find a pic of what I'm talking about. -
Nope, no tweeking was done on the legs. Guess it seemed to turn out fine on its own! I'm glad everyone seems to like the paint job. I was looking on the net for other builds like this for tips/inspiration, and I found nothing. Thought for sure there would be a few more people willing to challenge this build.

Photo Etched parts. Here's their website. The set I used was 272003. Didn't use all the parts, but what I did makes it look a lot nicer. My favorite bits were #1-5. Those go on the exposed part behind the wing, and on the wing part to hard the visible inner parts. If they made of sheet of just 3-4 sets of that, I'd buy again in a hurry.
-
Thanks. This was a very intensive masking job. And I myself was shocked and amazed to find that the lines from the body to the wing matched up perfectly!

The 1/72. PetarB isn't doing figures in 1/48 yet. Maybe if a few more people yell in his direction...
-
Finally finished! What I was looking to do was this: Did I succeed? Couple of firsts for me on this kit. All of the red and black were painted, not decals. Never done that much of an extensive masking/painting before. Used the Jasmine Models PE set for the first time. And, used Wave sculpting putty to modify a Studio Starforge pilot figure to get a the First figure.

Earlier version (but basically done by the same guys) I'm also very glad that the "reality" boom has not crossed over here. (knock on vast quantities of wood)

If you can read hiragana OK, then no problem with the kanji. They're all marked with furigana. I think Kodansha does that with all their manga, since my Macross Plus TacName has it too.

Saw Kishidan last night (for the third time!) Always a good show. They also always use this song as their stage intro. http://youtu.be/65Z3oOUacPc
