  1. And stupid weather. Just had the Golden Week holiday, plenty of build time. Yay!!! Rained every freaking day..... hasn't done that since the Meiji era. (rainy weather=no painting)
  2. Soon as I get everything masked off, and painted. Hopefully by the end of the month (lately, I've been limited to building only on the weekends).
  3. Oh, and before anyone gets their knickers in a twist, this is a joke I made with Checkmate earlier about how this is something that will NOT be said around here for someone's building effort.
  4. Don't you know that brown is 10% lighter than what's shown in the line art? What the hell are you thinking about!!!! Seriously, looking nice. One problem point I can see, though. You might want to wait on the vernier painting until after the base coat is down. It'll be easier to mask off the outside of the circle, instead of trying to mask the inside part. I like the metallic engine/legs bits. That looks nice.
  5. First thing I thought of was, "Let's go eat at Harryhausen's in his honor".
  6. Yes, you should get on with that kit. Only snapped my box-cutter knife blade once while removing all the parts. I still had fun with it, though. You doing the S or the D?
  7. Nothing yet. I'm following Hasegawa's Twitter feed, so I'm sure if there's any news, they'd say something there. That's how I found the VE-11 Thunderseeker info.
  8. Coming next month, to a workbench near me! Take one of these add 2 of these and half of one of these yeah, I know it's a bit early to be crowing about this, but I've been waiting to do this build for a couple of years now.
  9. Really bummed by this. I think I started listening to Slayer back in 1986 or so. Unfortunately, never had a chance to see them live.
  10. New pictures from Hasegawa.
  11. Over-budget, and massive reshoots (including an ending that makes sense). Anyone still interested? I've read the book twice, and I'm satisfied enough.
  12. Damn, they still haven't shown up yet? Come on customs!
  13. He looks so much better than the original one. I think that one was actually closer to a 1/90 scale than 1/72. Really had to shave his butt to get him to fit, though.
  14. 1/100 scale VF-1D. 1/100 scale Zentradi figure. they're also doing a 1/100 scale VF-4, Hikaru's Skull Squadron version, but no pictures yet. Oh, and here's the N-Jer (DYRL version) they did a while back. Someone was asking about buying one.
  15. Thanks. This is a pretty good kit to use as a test-bed for new techniques. Wasn't too terrible expensive, and if I screwed up on something, well, at least I wasn't trashing a Hasegawa. I think it's going to turn out pretty nice, though, for an classic Imai Gerwalk kit.
  16. Got the pilot finished up last night. Almost ready for allover prime and paint.
  17. Still not feeling it. I'll be sticking with Hasegawa, thank you.
  18. No, they're talking about the parts at the top of the legs, hidden in the intake parts. And yes, the Super/Strike bits are much better than the regular Battroid. I do remember the change when I was building the two of them.
  19. Must be a resin kit, since I saw a reacast on a sitE 2046 pages away from me.
  20. Pretty good poseability for a model kit. Honestly can't remember any problems I had with the build. Parts break down really nice for ease of puttying/sanding/painting. The only modification I made was drilling out the Strike Cannon barrels. Looks a lot nicer with them open, instead of capped closed. I accidentally discovered that with my Strike fighter, when I stupidly threw the caps away trying to clean up my build area mid-assembly.
  21. Work is proceeding. Easy kit to build. Challenging if you want to build it nice.
  22. Someone was complaining about the testosterone heavy selections going on, hope this helps http://youtu.be/plED7f7sEts Destrose is in town tonight, but unfortunately I couldn't make it.
  23. Discovered some good South American metal recently. Ancesttral, from Brazil Nuclear, from Chile
  24. I think that's what Jasmine intended them to be used as. Problem is, they never included directions on how to actually use them that way. Just a picture of a completed set, with part numbers on them. No mention of using a plastic tube or anything. Though, I guess to more experienced builders, it may have been self evident- but I had no clue until I got the book!
  25. Nice work, but, the comments......
