  1. Personally, I use Tamiya Extra-thin as my main glue, and Mr Cement as a secondary glue. I've used Ambroid Pro-weld in the past and liked it, but it's neigh impossible to find that in Japan.
  2. Saw my favorite band in Osaka on May 18th. Just used my Fuji point and shoot, but got some nice pics. posing with the guitar players Ruki And Ayano (who is making the perfect fan-meeting face)
  3. Yep. I saw on-line a tutorial on how to give it a nose-lift a long while back, but I didn't feel like getting that involved in this build.
  4. So, I'm getting ready to build my launch arm, and headed off to the Google for inspiration. Stumbled across this old thread while doing so, and now I've got a question: Where the hell is everyone's builds posted at? I'm seeing people saying put me down for 1 or even 2 of the launch arms, so a ton of them must have been built up already, right??? I've got wm cheng's how to guide downloaded. so I'll probably be referring to those quite often. So, where is everyone else's?
  5. Did all recessed verniers. Replaced the original "fists-of-ham" with 80's Power Hands (small). Replaced the original mini-pilot with a Studio Starforge one. Oh, and I added some Wave (or was it Kotobukiya?) burner nozzles to the backpack. I also did some minor scratch-building (backpack intake, main intake covers, various small bits to hide the inner wing exposed areas). As this was an old kit, this was a pretty good testbed for doing all those things. If I screwed up, at least I wasn't trashing one of my Hasegawa's! And, now I'm confident enough to do some of the sames mods on the next Hasegawa I build.
  6. Newest build completed! A 1/72 scale VF-1A Valkyrie, in Gerwalk configuration. This is an old Imai kit, so I did a few modifications, alterations, and additions. As always, you can see more here.
  7. For Hasegawa decals, hot water is needed. Not warm, HOT. I actually use an electric hot water pot to get the correct temp. Leave the decal in for only 10-15 seconds, and you're good to go.
  8. Nope, as Antibiotictab mentioned, he's in the Philippines on business. I chat with him a bit on Twitter.
  9. Actually, you'll probably be OK with the black one, as there's no real consensus on what color the CF has for the leg markings. My Google image searching showed up about 1/3 with white, 1/3 with black, and 1/3 with none. I myself am going with the black on my build.
  10. Ah, blank. That makes it a little easier then. However, it looks naked without it... eh, I'll just look at the 2 different decals, and see which one looks better.
  11. Now following!
  12. VF-1A cannon fodder UN SPACY leg markings- black or white? Did a Google image search, came back with both. Anyone know what's "official"? Or just go with what I prefer? (building a kit now). Also, anyone ever noticed how many Macross image results lead back here to the MW forums?
  13. Yep. Town I grew up in had only 2 movie theaters. And this is the old time definition of movie theater, meaning only the one screen (no multiplex). And, of course the smaller theater was the one that had it booked. Geeze, and I was only 7 or 8 at the time. How can I remember this???
  14. I think the last time I did that was for the original run of Star Wars:A New Hope. If I remember correctly, it took us 3 nights before we actually got into the theater.
  15. Tamiya masking tape. Buy it. Use it. Love it. Couldn't have done the uber-masking on my VF-1J Kai without it. (shameless bump/plug).
  16. Naw, the -21 is a snap to build. 2 pieces of advice, though- don't bother with the canopy decal, unless you can exactly match the decal to your paint job, and VERY CAREFULLY measure out where to cut for the wingtip lights. As in hold up the clear bits to the wing and cut that way. DO NOT follow the lines already there!!
  17. Looks like you can get a Frame Out Models 1/72 scale Cosmo Falcon through Dengeki Hobby.
  18. Really don't have a system. Just put them in the way I thought looked nice. Well, the only one I'm not happy about is the Bandai VF-25. That's why it's on the bottom corner. Biggest challenge coming up is where to put my launch arm set-up. Eh, worry about that once I actually get it built. Gonna start on that after my VF-1 CF Gerwalk.
  19. I try to do by series/groups. I've got a Zentradi/Meltrandi shelf, a VF-1 only, Battroid/Destroid, a Plus/7, and a miscellaneous (old Bandai and Imai kits, plus a VF-2SS).
  20. Exactly. I was talking about cleaning up the vinyl parts. Never have a problem with the plastic bits. I've got 2 Kaiyodo vinyl Patlabor kits in my pending stack. Better replace the big knife before I start on those.
