  1. OK, if you've never done a resin kit before, you're going to have to do some changes. 1. Before building, wash every part well in warm, soapy water. Sometimes resin kits will still have the release agent stuck to the parts, and that'll wreak havoc on your build. 2. Regular old model glue isn't going to work. You're going to need some type of CA glue (super glue). Tamiya makes some good stuff, but honestly I've been using some stuff that I picked up at a ¥100 shop that's been working great (beware that your results may vary). 3. For painting, you will need to prime. Unprimed resin will not hold any type of paint. So, unless you've got a rattlecan of primer, I suggest looking into buying an airbrush. Those are just some very, bare-bones tips that I can give you now.
  2. I tweeted the results from a ClickHole "quiz", and one of the people who follows me thought it was real. I really worry about some peoples' satire detection. I posted that because, A. It's funny, and B. It really reminds me of true articles I keep seeing pop up about Ep 7. And just remember, we've still got over a year to go before release.
  3. Live version of Ghost in the Shell soundtrack.
  4. You can find one on a sitE 2046 clicks away from here, if you don't mind buying a recast.
  5. "Real" kits are a bit more of a challenge than building sci-fi. Biggest change I did was that the black walkway access markings on the top sides and wings should be grey, but the after-market decals for that part were total crap, and I wasn't motivated enough to mask and paint (over a year since I started it, I wanted to get done!) It was fun building a 1/32 scale kit, but I honestly like 1/72 the best.
  6. Finally finished it, by the way. Anyone who says they prefer dry-transfer to water-slide decals needs to have their head examined, IMHO.
  7. Right now, I'm going to assume that TV pilot also means TV cockpit. Should know for sure once Hasegawa releases actual photos.
  8. Finally finished!! A 1/32 scale F-4J Phantom II, from Tamiya. Everything is OOB, except for the decals. Wanted this to tie back to Macross a little bit! I actually started this last year, but had to box it up when it got too cold to paint with the window open, as it's too big for my painting booth.
  9. OK, just heard back form Kuroneko (damn, that was fast!). Paints are not allowed.
  10. Unfortunately, looks like Japan Post doesn't allow the shipping of any type of paint, even through surface mail, or else I'd pick up and send to you. I just wrote a shipping question to Kuroneko Yamato about shipping, see if they reply. Also, during my research, I came across this place in Australia that carries both Mr. Color and GaiNotes, and looks like they ship internationally.
  11. Sapporo bands in da house!! Maverick Phantom of Sorrow http://youtu.be/x6e_XeiqNaU Maverick Kain and Shinji from Phantom of Sorrow
  12. A-ha! I knew I had seen some pics of the 1-1 mockup from the Macross Museum!
  13. No, no pilot in the 1/48 weapon set.
  14. Bigger pic taken from Hasegawa's blog: EDIT: Oh oh oh! If I'm reading it right, the Gerwalk kit is coming with a TV pilot, and markings for Vermilion Squad! Also, thanks for the thread re-title!
  15. Probably September of 1994. Was in college at that time, and one of my friends, who was a Japanese exchange student, was even more excited than me at this being released.
  16. Here's a better shot of the 30th Anni Gerwalk, from the builder's Twitter page.
  17. Went to the Hokkaido Modeler's Exhibit today. Would have brought my camera if I had planned to go (last minute decision when already in town), but anyway, here's a couple of Yamato builds.
  18. Sorry for the phone pics. Would have brought my camera if I had know I was going. (last minute decision after we were already in town). Next year, I may actually participate. All you need to do is rent some table space.
  19. Technically, are these even playable in a Robotech Universe setting? You know, since the Strikes are Macross, not Roboblech. Yes, I'm admitting to total ignorance here.
  20. Gold plating, anyone? From the Dengeki Hobby Charahobby 2014 report.
  21. I know. I have an extra Minmay Guard Battroid I was gonna strip for parts, and a VF-1S I bought at Mandarake on the cheap. Thanks OK, though, since I'd rather have an official Gerwalk kit.
  22. According to this tweet: 1/48 VF-1 weapons set in November from Hasegawa. 1/72 VF-1 J/A Gerwalk in December.
  23. Scene in question is right here, near the end. No subtitles, but I go with Miria repeating a word that she doesn't know the meaning to.
  24. It's a bit of a pain, but it's even tougher on the 1/72 line.
