  1. I used to have that comic. I think on the cover it said something along the line of "The crossover you never wanted to happen!"
  2. Now I really feel like I'm getting somewhere! 3 more left to final assemble, then 6 launch bases to build and figure out how to display.
  3. Whole thing is bad, but this is my #1 WTF moment: "Harmony Gold's longtime goal is to release every Valkyrie resin model that every appeared on any and every Macross series."
  4. Now this is some painful reading...
  5. Nope, not Seventh Moon. It was made by Frameout Models, sculpted by ensing. They occasionally show up on Yahoo Auctions. That's where I grabbed mine.
  6. I don't know if this should go here, or in the LEGO thread The Music Truck and War Rig
  7. How serious are you? All I've done so far is clean it up and prime it. For the right price I'd let him go.
  8. I've got the original kit: You do have to use some parts from the Bandai POS VF-25, which I'm very willing to sacrifice to make this one (eventually). And you have to write to the maker to get the instructions. He did that to try and cut down on recasting. Who wants to buy a complex kit with no instructions?
  9. I managed to grab one off of Mandarare a few months back for only 25,000 yen. I think the 1/48 scale Hasegawa is going to drop the prices on those a bit.
  10. I use Mr's Softer and Setter, and I've never used any type of clear coating, either before or after. I generally use semi-gloss or flat paint for my paint jobs, too.
  11. Nothing trollish in your comments at all. I think you're just asking a question that most of us have already asked at one point in time. And I think the answer is just because it's Harmony Gold.
  12. If you do some digging around here, you'll find out that they can not use any design or character elements to the Macross portion of the series.
  13. A Japanese friend of mine had an uncut/unedited copy of the English dub with Japanese subtitles, and I showed it in the anime club I had started quite a few years back (The Otaku Society, St. Cloud State University in the early 90's). Had to issue an apology and promise to never show something that badly dubbed again!
  14. So, when is HG going to chime in and claim that their copyright now extends to Pluto and beyond?
  15. Progress is still progressing: Never thought that 6 1/144 scale kits could take a while to build. And I haven't done anything with the launch bases yet!
  16. I was following the Kevin meltdown (having someone in your PR department acting like way. Stay classy HG!), but I missed Maverick chiming in.
  17. Only for one day this time. Then off to Kyoto for a few days, then Osaka for a few more, then back to Sapporo. Jeeze, am I really Podcast material???
  18. The PR machine is starting to roll over here now. Saw the first TV spot this morning, and my wife's thoughts were "Who wants to watch an old-man robot movie?"
  19. I'm doing that when I take my parents down in the first week of August.
  20. I've been using it for 3~4 years I think. Only on my 3rd bottle. How you wipe it off is how weathered your model is. Wet cloth and hard wiping, only panel lines. Dry and soft wiping, very streaky and dirty.
  21. Water. It's a finely ground up clay powder with some inert ingredients to help keep it in a water solution. What's nice is that you can apply it over properly set decals, and get panel line detail over the decal.
  22. OR, you could try using this. Don't like the results, just wash it off, and since it's a water-based clay emulsion, it won't react with anything. Flory Promedellers wash I myself have been using it for several years, and I love it. Worked just fine on my Yellow Sub SDF-1.
  23. One nit-pick: In Mac II they didn't use the "standard" US Spacy kite. That's OK, though, since that's what I put on the kit that I built.
