    Good news! Read the books, never seen the anime (yet), but I really like the plane designs. Picked up a Super Sylph on Mandarake a few weeks back, have to look around and see if I can find a Mave.

    My birthday was Saturday. Went to a dance exercise event. That's my favorite instructor stuffing cake in my face. If you'd asked my 10 years ago if I'd ever be doing any of that on my birthday, you'd get a resounding "No way!"

    Right here! Sorry, I wasn't ignoring this thread, I was off gallivanting around Kyoto, Nara, and Osaka with my parents last week. No PC access.

    Arms out. I don't even have the pieces to change it into any other mode now! And I'm fine with that. The super pack is too big in Battroid to fit in my display case, and I've got a 1/72 resin kit for Fighter mode.

    The Bandai kit is not good. First off, the arm armor is too big, and you can never get the arms set high enough to pose in fighter mode on the landing gear. to change between the 3 modes you have to change out a very floppy internal works. They used some type of plastic that's one step of rigidity above the polycap material. I only put it into Battroid for a few photos, then put it permanently into Gerwalk.

    My only complaint is that with all those dynamic poses, there should be a pilot sitting in there!

    Totally true. I saw a lot of broccoli in lunches when I worked at a kindergarten, and most of the kids said they didn't like to eat green peppers (I agree with that sentiment too!)

    Yes. Looks like Optimus Prime main body, General Lee and Airwolf for arms, a VF-1S head, He-Man sword, Back to the Future license plate, A-Team van and Ecto-1 Ghostbusters car for legs. Yes, I am officially old!!!

    Yeah, but I'm sure you're actually qualified to! I'm talking the 14 year olds who have seen 1 season of Naruto (or whatever is popular in America now), and are suddenly experts on everything Japan/Japanese, and how they're going to move right after high school, and buy a house in Tokyo, and study Japanese for 1 year, and be like totally fluent dude!　Oh, and their manga will be a best seller, as well!

    This question gets asked on Yahoo Answers about once a day, so I put together a "General Answer #1" about 6 years back. Everything should still be up-to-date. Sorry if it sounds a bit snippy in places, but it's mainly directed at the "I'm gonna live my anime dream!!1!" type of people.

    Depends. A lot of these Festival-only kits are of subject matter that no one else has produced as a plastic kit. Also, a while back, the only way to get a 1/72 scale nice quality VF-1 kit was to buy the Club M/Yellow Submarine garage kit. Same as the YF-19. YF-21, and the movie version SDF-1. Hasegawa has released plastic versions of all those kits now. If you want a fun challenge, go ahead and pick up one of the old resin kits. Thanks to Hasegawa, the prices on them have really nosedived from the original.
