  1. This B_A_T_ guy's pics are always great. Thanks for the link, charger69.
  2. You’re right, the legs do extend a little bit in fighter mode but that’s only a few millimetres. If they extended more than that they wouldn’t be able to bend at the knee at all when retracted for battroid mode, not to mention the gun pod storage gimmick wouldn’t have been possible either. As you say it’s all about compromising. The VF-17 is a flying tank and I actually don’t think the massive and menacing battroid mode is bad at all. You mean like this? It doesn't look bad at all IMO.
  3. I think to remember Mr. K mentioned this somewhere.
  4. Damn it. My forum rank doesn’t match my actual rank
  5. 25 May 2012: The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Blu-ray Box Complete Edition (Limited Edition) 45,000yen Source: http://blog.yahoo.co...es/611297/index
  6. The legs can’t be any shorter because they are nearly as long as the whole valk in fighter mode. The wings are exactly as long as in the line art. See the picture below: The VF-19 has spoiled us all, but I guess sometimes reality can’t beat anime magic
  7. I was thinking just the same. The Yamato’s 1/60 version is already small for its scale with its 45cm (around 18 inches)… I mean, I don’t know how tall it should be but it can’t fit an 1/60 pilot inside. Anyway, according to http://www.macross2.net ‘s technical data an 1/48 Regult should only be 31.5cm (12.5 inches) tall Sources: http://www.yamato-toys.com/items/detail.php?gid=1756 http://www.macross2.net/m3/sdfmacross/reguld.htm
  8. Really cool!
  9. That’s exactly what I was thinking about
  10. skull_leader001 asked for the Mighty Block #1, the ones you bought are the #2. One of their colour versions is still available at Yamato’s site: http://www.yamato-toys.com/items/detail.php?gid=1322 I haven't that one but I can offer you this one: Source: The really nice gamu-toys' review: http://gamu-toys.info/goukin/yamato/vf17sd/vf17sd01.html http://gamu-toys.info/goukin/yamato/vf17sd/vf17sd02.html
  11. Exactly. IMO Yamato will use the simpler version head because I guess it’s the one that makes part of the registered design –not to mention it’s the one that it’s been advertised by them.
  12. Thanks for the really great pictures, alchemo! This valk looks awesome! I'm afraid probably nowhere...
  13. Designing a GREAT Kai while defeating anime magic for the FIRST time = Art. Designing a GREAT VF-25 in your SECOND try = finally following the bloody CG models. I love them both, but IMO the Kai (or the VF-19S) is THE toy of the year, even if I liked the 25 more.
  14. Thanks for such a quick answer, cool8or! So in Mendoza it's "Blem brillo acrílico incoloro".
  15. As far as I’ve observed my toy has an absolutely perfect colour match under sun light, camera flashes and, to a lesser extent, incandescent lamps light. But the painted parts look a LOT lighter under compact fluorescent lamps light!
  16. Great job as usual, cool8or! Thanks for sharing! Do you mind if I ask you under which name you can find Future in Chile?
  17. Is it just me or the colour match isn’t that good for the painted parts when the Kai’s under certain kinds of artificial lighting?
  18. It's only now that I realize what your avatar is!!!
  19. What’s this VF-17 lacking in your opinion to get a higher score? The one I bought is still on its way to me so I haven’t had the opportunity to handle it yet…
  20. For comparison purposes, what's the score for the VF-19Kai?
  21. Thanks for the great reviews, Andrew.
  22. Yeah, I guess that works also for several Macross valks, most notably the latest designed like VF-0 and VF-25/27.
