I can’t find anything about such sliding movement in the transformation details so I’d say there’s a certain amount of anime magic involved once again. You say the shoulders SHOULD move forward, I say they COULD, but, looking at all the available CAD drawings and pics, it looks like they simply WON’T.

Yep, and this is what you said: "Fin/wing angles still all wrong from head-on. Tell 'em Graham! (canards and wings should be parallel, ventral fins and tailfins should be aligned with each other)"

Not to mention that the toy's design has been approved by SK and this is probably more important than the very scarce line art. I prefer the parallel tails and fins design though.

I'd say it's too late for that, but they don't look that bad IMO.
