  1. I can see in the CAD drawings that the chest plate is locked by sliding the neck base forward when transforming into battroid mode. It is also locked in gerwalk mode by the two pegs on the inner side of the wing gloves. Don´t worry about the hand plates. We have only seen pictures of the painted resin prototype and it still lacks some detail. Due to the fact that the hand plates are indeed correctly sculpted, even if Yamato releases the toy with all red hand plates it would be very easy to change it as I have done with Photoshop in a picture. See http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=32377&view=findpost&p=883402 and http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=32377&view=findpost&p=883385.

    SCOOP thread!

Wonder Festival 2011 (winter) News!!! Yamato will be presenting its VF-19FIRE in all its three forms (fighter, gerwalk and battroid) and a sound booster mock. Also an upgrade kit (?) for the 1/60 VF-1 unpainted kit. See Yamato’s site: http://www.yamato-toys.com/event/201102/index.html?infolnk=index
  3. Wonder Festival 2011 (winter) News!!! Yamato will be presenting its VF-19FIRE in all its three forms (fighter, gerwalk and battroid) and even a sound booster mock!!! Looking forward to the new images! From Yamato’s site at: http://www.yamato-toys.com/event/201102/index.html?infolnk=index
  4. The bold is just to highlight what I thought it was most important about that: the author (or the translator) and the source. Sorry, I hadn’t paid attention on that. Just edited.
  5. I agree with that. Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0, would it be possible to modify the poll letting the VFs P, S & F aside? That way we would just be able to vote for the variations that aren’t granted by Yamato yet.
  6. According to sketchley’s Dengenki Hobby 2011.03 Macross the Ride translation at http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/index.php?topic=2678.msg41329#msg41329, there is some interesting official information that we should consider.
  7. I’d like to have a V2 1/60 YF-19 first to update my now not very satisfactory V1 (for its importance in Macross universe); then the VF-19ACTIVE (for its beautiful design); then anything else.
  8. I need a VF-19FIRE for my Macross collection, any suggestion?
  9. I also like it a little bit more now; the extra detail makes a lot for it. But there are a few things I still don’t like about this valk–and I doubt I will ever do: the big wing engines –with their inward intakes- that rest so much lifting area; the highly loaded wings (small wing area); the bulkier proportions of the plane due to the extra packs; the colour scheme (looking at the 1/100 version) and the Fold Quartz bits on the chest plate. IMHO, the legs look like the VF-25 ones but built with the detail and proportions of the 1/72 VF-25 transforming model. Actually, I think the general proportions of this toy are more consistent with the 1/72 ones, which would be really good news to me; I have always wondered why Bandai just didn’t scale up the 1/72 designs for its DX 25 line…
  10. New pics from Tomopop. IMHO sometimes it does look good and sometimes it doesn't...
  11. An other photo from Yamato's site:
  12. Yack! Deculture!
  13. First pics of the Yamato Open Showroom! The blur area in the second photo is where the VF-19FIRE is going to be. Taking pictures is forbidden, so we count on the attendees to tell us everything you see there! http://www.yamato-toys.com/blog/

  15. Great job, Shinigami, I even started liking the VF-2SS!!!
  16. That's nice, thanks nightmareB4macross.
  17. Crazy decaling!!!
  18. While the more detailed design makes the plane look better I still don’t feel much love for the overall design than I did before. About the colours in the new render, I think they represent the ones of the actual plastic pieces. Some paint should be applied on some of them. I welcome the perceptible existence of certain amount of grey in the legs, but in general the colour scheme is still too pinkish to my taste. I can’t stand the fact that the mid wing engines take so much lifting area from the already tiny wings that the only possible way for this valk to fly in an atmosphere would be either at high speed or in gerwalk mode. The VF-27 has much more wing area and the option of folding the tips down for high speed flight. I guess the clear bits on the chest plate are a silly way to expose the Fold Quartz and show off the new technology. Don’t worry if you don’t like them, from what I can see in the front view of the bigger image Graham posted some days ago, it looks like they will be completely disintegrated by the guns in the leg nacelles.
  19. Great work Mechamaniac, it does look great by its VF-1 enemy! Are you going to paint it? I don’t know whether you own a Yamato Regult or not but I bet your soldier would also look great if displayed by one of those or getting out through the hatch.
  20. Great work, Kurt! May I ask what do you use for the lining?
  21. I believe the 1/60 VF-17 is what comes next after the VF-19s.
  22. Renato, you’re very lucky for being able to go there. Enjoy yourself, take as many pictures as you can if you’re allowed to, and share them and your impressions with us next Monday!!!
  23. Lucky Alex, Renato and Tochiro!
  24. Yeah, I know what you mean. It’s just that I had been dealing with my VF-0S these days and was kind of familiarized with it. Also as I’ve been customizing some of my valks lately I feel a little more confident to work on them.
