  1. I can’t see any reason for such a step backwards in anime accuracy. Yamato’s always designed their VFs with removable intake covers so it’s technically speaking not a challenge for them. Here you are a few sample snapshots of the VF-19Kai with open intakes:
  2. Or maybe because of this?
  3. Yeah, it does, like the black samples we saw at WWF, I wonder why...
  4. Some new official information at http://www.yamato-toys.com/blog/index.php?infolnk=index It looks like the Kai has gone for factory sample revision. Look also http://www.yamato-toys.com/items/detail.php?gid=1841 for the new pictures. Although for some reason the colour quality of the new pics is really bad (compare them with the old ones) the toy itself looks just perfect IMO.
  5. Well, I haven’t had any of those problems so far, but don’t call me lucky for I don’t really like the toy anyway. I hope it gets a little better after my modifications. And I’d prefer to have my Bandais in a mate finish to match my Yamatos. I don’t know actually, the VF-27 does look better but it’s hard to say.
  6. Do you mean the glossy finish of the plastic? Because I’ve spent a few days modifying my DX 25 in order to make it look a little bit more anime accurate and dude, the toy is made in a very hard kind of plastic!
  7. Oh well, I officially like this bird… I mean, look at this!
  8. Oh yeah!!!
  9. When I read somewhere that there’d probably be a V.2 DX VF-25 release some when in the future I looked at mine and thought WTH, I’ll modify it to make it look better. Seriously, I was kind of tired of all its anime inaccuracies and bulky look, even in fighter mode which is supposedly the better looking one. If that works I’ll end up having a nicer toy, if it doesn’t I’ll be buying the new one anyway! Do you think guys it’d be worth to start a new thread in the Building/Customizing Macross Models & Toys section? Some of you may have done it as well and we could share some experiences and ideas; or perhaps my try could encourage others to do the same…
  10. I think it’s a good idea and nicely done. Are there any other alternatives to reach the same outcome? Could any other techniques have been applied to customise the toy? Very likely, as always, for this is something that depends on every person’s preferences and skills, but the current effect must be amazing once its owner turns off the room’s lights.
  11. As UN Spacy mentions in post #54, the minus 2% makes part of a disaster relief program HLJ has started with the help of Red Cross and I don't think it's meant to irritate you. http://hlj.us1.list-...d1&e=8077d816df
  12. I'd get one.
  13. Anyone interested in Bandai to release Super Parts for THE VF-27? From http://hk.myblog.yahoo.com/iam-cybergundam
  14. No, this pic was meant to show us how intricate and cool the toy’s body transformation is and the hard time they’re getting at designing the instruction manual. I’m currently editing some photos to show the locking mechanisms in both Battroid and Gerwalk modes. They’re pretty nice IMHO.
  15. A new nice picture from Yamato's blog: The link: http://www.yamato-toys.com/blog/
  16. Apparently some people do. Look at this video by Yamato Toys:
  17. I really don´t know, AlphaOne, I’ve never bought anything from Ishop2go. Maybe someone else has some experience with them and can tell us. I have always bought my Macross stuff from HLJ and AmiAmi –just depending of their respective prices- with great result, also from a HK e-bay seller who sometimes has very competitive prices.
  18. IMHO, while it may be the case for some people, colours may be very important to others: remember how many times we’ve read in this very forum about people that aren’t very fond of the VF-19FIRE due to its colours –no matter how good the design of the new toys is- and will be waiting for other schemes. But as you say, the actual release will speak by itself.
  19. It looks like we can know now how much poorer we’re going to be in a couple of months: Ishop2go has the Yamato 1/60 VF-19FIRE for pre-order with a selling price of $US 225.64 (6% off) + $US25.59/$US32.87 for shipping to the States. 20. Ha ha ha! Yes, I think it was exactly that, a euphemism. And I think Twoducks’ English is quite good if it’s true he’s not a native English speaker.
  21. Yes, it will. I'll look for a picture for you later. In fact this toy will come with lots of locking mechanisms for all its three modes.
  22. You –and we all- know what he meant; I think the idea was pretty clear.
  23. As far as I can see, it looks like the cockpit is better covered than ever before...
  24. The picture originally comes from Yamato’s blog, where they say the figure is in an early stage and even though they’re not supposed to show any images of it yet they let us see this one just to know the project is still on. Here’s the link: http://www.yamato-toys.com/blog/ As derex3592 said the picture may be lame but at least we have good news…
  25. That’s because this is the original resin prototype that has been painted for this last exhibition. It’s quite normal than a resin prototype is floppy, also consider that it’s been around for over a year now… The black plastic version looks much better.
