A can't avoid the feeling of déjà vu... Maybe it’s due to the fact this issue’s been extensively debated in another Yamato VF-19 thread…

I hope so, but according to the line art they shouldn't. Source: http://www.macross2.net/m3/macross7/vf-17s-nightmare.htm -
These pictures are smaller than the ones Valhary posted before. See here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=35341&view=findpost&p=931794

I think I'll wait for the armoured version, but I don't know if that's a safe bet...
-
Certainly not me. I like the toy’s overall representation better than the line art so I don’t care too much about that.

Not that it’s of any importance but looking at the pictures it looks like the die-cast back piece is slightly different as to not to be able to hold the Kai’s sound booster.

Combining shipping is a way to save YOU money, they only save some time and handling.

I wonder if any of you guys have done panel lining and or weathering on the Yamato VF-19Kai... -
The designer of this v.2 is the same who designed de 1/72 model kit, Mr. T. Maeda. Source: http://www.blog.amiami.com/amiblo/2011/07/post-562.html http://www.toyark.com/news/macross-toy-news-51/t-maeda-of-tamashii-talks-dx-vf25-renewal-version-4564/ I’d say Bandai does listen the consumer’s complaints. They made small changes with every new run of their v.1, although not very important ones due to the molds are something too expensive to replace. But looking at all the v.2 improvements –see the 2nd link above- it seems to me that they’ve addressed all the issues claimed by the consumers BUT those related to the plastics and paint applications. I wonder if it’s due to a Mr. Kawamori request of using a gloss surface as he did with the Yamato VF-19 + not using better quality paints to keep the costs down or just an impossibility of having better results due to the nature of the plastics.

Yeah, but that’s very unrealistic and transformable toys are all about proportions. If you were able to transform that battroid into a fighter it’d look really bad. I prefer Yamato’s proportions a thousand times.

Bloody hell! This is certainly the best thread around! Thank you all, guys! -
Oh, I see, I just mentioned VF-1 and VF-0 while in battroid mode with their load of missiles still on and the wings unfolded. I like that image too. I guess the wings can also guide the free fall if properly angled… Regarding the wings as a shield, I know they are probably not perfect for that but considering they are already there why not to use them as an extra cover just as the arm shield, which isn’t exactly enormous either.

You mean your v.1, I suppose
-
Well, you probably did notice I didn’t mention the VF-11, VF-5000 and VF-17. And the YF-21/VF-22’s wings may tuck inside but the leg covers hung from the hips in the same fashion the VF-19’s wings do. I like the VF-19’s hip wings because I like the idea of having these extra pair of shields for the legs while in battroid mode.
