Well, I can see both interpretations are of a VF-17 but no, in terms of proportions I don’t think they’re that close. Actually, I see more differences than similarities, one of the bigger ones being the rendition of the wings in batroid mode.
For all of you who wanted new pics here you are a small collection, though we’ve already seen some of them.
No need to explain again they all are of the still-not-very-stable painted prototype and hence the need of using some supports.

Yeah, don’t worry about the tight hip joints; they’ll become floppy soon enough as usual. Other than that, it’s true this is what the toy in the first place, I really like it.
Some missiles instead of the multiple hand sets and the ex gear figure would’ve been preferable to me as well…
Yamato’s announced we’re welcome to visit their offices this coming weekend to see and test their samples before release. Many of us won’t be able to do so but I guess some good pics and videos may follow.
