  1. Finally, after owning the game since it came out, I re-installed my system (long story...) and fixed the pixilated depth of field effect (Not a hard fix but required some mucking around with the shader files). Wow. Such a pretty game. I think I'm gonna like this...
  2. I remember a few years back that the NRC was experimenting with integrating the pilot's eye perscription into the helmet visor. I've always thought it was a neat idea.
  3. I've never had any problems playing Mkv files. They just work for me. And they never stutter, or skip at all. It's real pretty. Now, if they were released on Divx formatted AVIs, then I could pop them on a DVD and watch them on my TV (Divx compatible DVD players are great), but it's not a big deal for me. Overall, on this ep, I liked it, and of course, they have to have the cliffhanger at the end... Gotta keep us hooked...
  4. I saw it a few days back. Long story short: It's not bad, but definatley could use some more revision. That, and I was really bugged by the whole look of the film. I can't quite put my finger on it, but something's off about the art. The droid army soldiers were pretty funny though.
  5. It's most definatley a fake, but click the link: clicky! Would be pretty neat if it's true.
  6. Here's the cockpit of my Jedi Starfighter. I still have a few touchups left to do on it. Like I said, extreme artistic liscence, but I was trying to go with a plausible colour pallete, but I wanted some colour in the cockpit, rather than just the standard grey and black, hence the green (O2 bottles), yellow, gold, red... PS: I managed to get my rocket out of the tree. Duct tape, a ladder, and some poles worked wonders. No damage to the rocket!
  7. They're not on my workbench anymore, but rather they've lept off the launch pad. I launced two model rockets today. The classic Alpha (took about an hour to build), and the Menance (a cruise missle lookalike). The Alpha I didn't photograph, because I wanted to watch it. It went pretty high... I couldn't even see it when it hit it's maximum height. I used a C6 motor on it, and I managed to get it back ok... after much hunting through the brush of course. The Menance, I phtographed. It's now in a tree. Great launch, but silly tree got in the way of a touch down. I'm gonna have to wait for the wind to blow a bit to knock it out of the pine tree. Blast off! Main chute deployed OK!
  8. My dad made me a rack. Just used a jar I had lying around. It held about 2 dozen jars pretty nicely. I've since expanded it out using a small bookshelf that sits below my workbench so I can just look down and see the paints. But I should organize my paints. I think I have close to 100 jars by now...
  9. I'm actually finding that the kit is quite fun. I'm not even making the cockpit movie accurate, just using a basic light grey for the metal, blacks, red-brown (for what I think are leather pads), some red, yellow, and metallic colours. Surprisingly, it looks pretty good.
  10. Right now, I'm working on two kits at once. The Jedi Starfighter (from Star Wars Epsiode 3), and Trumpeter's new 1:32 Bearcat. Even though the Bearcat is in 1:32, it's not a very big plane to start out with... But damn it's a beautiful kit!
  11. 1:60 6 1:48 2 Other scale 3 Other series 1 (escaflowne) Slowly growing year after year...
  12. Saw The Dark Knight again last night. Only this time in IMAX. Wow, just wow. I'm liking the movie the second time around even more. Plus they amped up the bass during the whole SWAT chase. You couldn't just feel it in your gut, you felt it in your BONES!!!
  13. Does anybody feel that the new MG RX-78 Gundam is a model of contradictions? I mean we get modern styling on the legs and arms, but retro on the feet and backpack. I mean, the Zaku update was just so darn neat, and this feels like a bit of a letdown in comparison... I'm glad I have my Version Ka models (Gundam and Wing Gundam)...
  14. The other quick way is to see if it will fit. If it doesn't fit, it's the wrong one! Oh and bad RAM is even more tricky than dead RAM. Bad RAM can cause all sort of problems that would never make you suspect the RAM was bad...
  15. If one of the RAM sticks was dead, the computer wouldn't boot at all, or at least give you an error message on boot. In the old days it would beep out a POST error. My dad knew each one of those cryptic beeps. I only knew the two short a-ok beeps.
  16. Technically, that's incorrect. There still is convergence, but just without multiple guns. So basically, we're talking more than 200 meters... So more like 500 meters to an extreme kilometer gunnery range?
  17. This raises a guns question to me: How close do modern day fighters get before firing their guns? I play a ton of IL-2, and I usually have mine set for 200 meters, but I have no clue as to how close an F-16 would get to a MiG-29 before giving it a lead shower...
  18. True, they don't often engage in dogfights anymore, but you'd want the manouverability if you have some young hotshot on your six and he's revving up his vulcan. That, and it may come at an advantage in BVR engagements; perhaps to fool the missile into missing. Besides, it just looks cool to see planes move in ways they shouldn't!
  19. You know, I think somebody would notice that the SDF-1 was missing on Earth... I mean, it's only about 800 meters tall... And it's in a center of a city. Perhaps Isamu took it out for a joyride?
  20. Was it ever said how long it was since humanity left Earth? Nukes, depending on the makeup, and the amount... used... Can have a long half life. I'm probably way off, but the plutonium used as the core of a conventional nuke (implosion type) has a fairly lengthy half life, and remember, there's still quite a bit of radiation left after that initial half life...
  21. Actually, that wouldn't be a bad series finale. Just end it right there. But, they won't. Oh no, they'd better not.
  22. Just finished watching the episode... Wow. Just wow.
  23. Also, not mentioned, the YF-19 can pop open it's leg ports by hinging the fast packs so the missles can clear. I think there's a brief shot of this in either episode 3 or 4. It's been a while since I watched Macross Plus...
  24. When I first transformed the YF-21 into battroid mode, I found that it didn't want to stand up very well. Then I made sure I locked up the rotating hips, and now it can stand up prettty well. It can even do some pretty nifty poses with a bit of work.

    Macross Revoltech

Got my Regult recently, and I think mine's slightly defective. The joints in the leg are pretty loose, which is rather unusual (in my experience) for revoltechs. It is a pretty cool figure though.
