  1. I have to agree with you but I bought it anyways when it first came out .....stuff like that is probably why Yamato ended up where it did....just got too cocky, made too much, too fast....it was a great ride while it lasted.....
  2. I agree....one-offs can't be holy grails as there is no chance you will ever find one..... With that said....do we all agree on how a holy grail should be defined...in the context of the typical yamato macross collector looking to complete a collection in the future? I do not think a typical collector will desire the HDP kit as much as the actual fully built toys..... HDP kits are more for the higher-end collector...dare I say "elite"? I personally would not say that someone's collection is not "complete" if they did not own all or any of the HDP kits..... But what about the Zentradi "dress-up" clothes for the VF-1A dolly...errr....I mean Valk!!!.....Would that need to be a part of a complete 1/60 Yamato collection? Those are dang hard to find these days...the last one went for 25000 JPY on Yahoo Japan: http://page10.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m110567911 Grail status?
  3. Plus I think it was the only way to get the "clown hands" for the Max TV 1/48 VF-1A...also an exclusive from Macross Chronicle....and arguably a holy grail itself..... Interesting....for perspective, do you know what a typical run was for a regular issue valk...like say a VF-1J Hikaru or VF-1S Roy? Either in 1/48 or 1/60 scale?
  4. How about the Macross Chronicle 1/48 Hikaru weathering edition with the fast packs....how many of those actually get made?....actually it's the fast packs that set it apart.... And with that said....I had hoped for more exclusives from the re-launched Macross Chronicle....hmmmmmm? Perhaps their is still hope....a fool's hope
  5. Whatchoo talkin' bout Willis!?!?
  6. ...and if Arcadia decides to abandon the perfect variable line..... What will go down as the "HOLY GRAIL" of the Yamato Macross complete toy line (1/100, 1/72, 1/60, and 1/48) for those who may one day decide they must "have them all"?
  7. When I hear "game over" it will always mean this scene to me.....until I die....at which point it will actually be "game over"....at least around these parts!
  8. Saving the pic....some of my stuff may be in those pics! Remember getting stuff from Twin Moons Anime too......still have shipping boxes with his logo!
  9. Agreed...I think I'll only grab the new cover issues.....kinda thankful it's only 30 new covers....DeAgostini could have easily "swindled and pimped" us into getting them all!!!
  10. VF-22 Gamlin gone??? The perennial shelf warmer!!! I do believe that is one of the signs of the (Macross) apocalypse....
  11. Yep...Issues 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9...all new Tenjin art.....issue 1 is a reuse of the original issue 1 valk art...only the character art on the cover changed (I guess you can argue that the small YF-29 pic on the cover, plus spread inside, is also new for that issue)....Issue 6 was a recycled image, as will be issue 10 (VF-4).... So probably not many all new cover art coming our way.... ...plus we'll probably have to wait a while to actually see it all.....I'm hoping for some Varuta valk art and more from Macross II.....we'll see what Tenjin comes up with I guess
  12. Think that is a poster from issue 50...but it reminds me of the 3D poster sold at the Tokyo Anime Center last September:
  13. The multi valk pic looks like the image used for the 3D poster....
  14. What was the tune the Governor kept whistling....to me it sounded like what is heard from :01-:06 from the Macross Plus dog fight track....probably just have Macross on the mind..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgDgpty2cfg&feature=youtu.be
  15. yeah..thought the same thing...but it's simple...he probably had the keys....
  16. So either clearing up old stock to make room for the eventual Arcadia "stickered" re-releases......or... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4WJlLNIsyY&feature=youtu.be&t=1m14s
  17. New Book?..."Macross Do You Remember Quotations" http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%83%9E%E3%82%AF%E3%83%AD%E3%82%B9%E5%90%8D%E8%A8%80%E9%9B%86-%E3%81%8A%E3%81%BC%E3%81%88%E3%81%A6%E3%81%84%E3%81%BE%E3%81%99%E3%81%8B-%E6%A0%AA%E5%BC%8F%E4%BC%9A%E7%A4%BE%E3%83%AC%E3%83%83%E3%82%AB%E7%A4%BE/dp/4569810810/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1363344551&sr=8-1
  18. I would like one of those new 3D posters...if anyone can help...PM me....thanks!
  19. Otacute has cancelled pre-orders on me in the past due to insufficient stock...just sayin'....they do, however, get very snippy if you cancel on them.......
  20. yes...but the colors will not match between say TV vs. Movie.....and obvious valks like the low-viz VF-1S and the cavaliers VF-1A will have hands too dark to match other valks...but they will fit
  21. No...keep it at 1/60...how many more VF's are needed to complete the 1/60 VF line? Beyond the VF's that Bandai has locked up.....Arcadia can finish up the 1/60 line with the VF-9, VF-14, VF-3000, VF-5000, VB-3, and the Varuta valks....what else am I missing?....variable Glaug?.....if you don't need every single variation of each model (ex. VF-1A, VF-1D, VF-1J, VF-1S...the custom gurus would likely create the different heads/part variations and sell them on shapeways)....that's not too many left......bottom line...Arcadia should stick with the 1/60 scale...
  22. Not the most exciting episode...plus couldn't hear the dialogue towards the end with the annoying music track playing.....
