I have not seen MOS yet....at this point I probably will wait for BD......but I have a question about it.....in the movie does Clark Kent become "Superman" as a result of General Zod's arrival to Earth or was he already "out of the closet" doing things in the world and known as "Superman" to the world? If he was "outed" due to the arrival of Zod.....why couldn't all "current" DC "universes" as envisoned in each of the separate DC character movies...just be "forced" to "fit in" to the "universe" that has resulted from "MOS"? Surely, every city in the world...including Gotham.....would have to adjust to the revelation of the existence of "Hostile Alien Lifeforms" that has now become a real threat to the planet.....so basically the entire DK Trilogy could have happened before the battle between Superman and Zod...... I do not remember if the events in Green Lantern were local or if they were "world-wide"....but if they were just concentrated in one city.....the events could be "blocked" from the world....like the ASS-1 crashing on South Ataria.... If that were so, then I would place the events in GL as occurring just before the events in MOS.......with the Earth via some DC version of "SHIELD" in contact with Green Lantern (he is military already?) just as Zod arrives and Superman is revealed to the world......In this scenario, Batman is known to the world, but most "officials" consider him a vigilante/threat outside of Gotham City.....only his "self-less" act at the end of DKR has "elevated" his status to being a "good guy" or "SUPER HERO"...... As I have said before, my knowledge of DC comic lore is limited (is there even a DC version of SHIELD?), but from the Miller series....Batman does not like Superman all that much......and that is what makes any movie involving both Superman and Batman interesting.....however, that animosity needs to be explained not just jumped into.....unless the film is an adaptation of the Miller graphic novel set in the future....I can only hope for the best.... In short, a VS. type movie will probably not work.....a movie involving both Superman and Batman basically should be about the "origin" of the DC version of SHIELD and be driven by the intergalactic threats revealed through the events of MOS.........I mean how the heck can you ignore that???.............In this scenario....I would have preferred GL as the driving force behind wanting to put together a "team"....with Superman being the second to join...and Batman only joining after some "ALIEN" threat nearly decimates Gotham.......the end of the movie would showcase other "super heroes" coming out of the woodwork (pick your favorites)....plus other "villians" and new planetary threats (again pick your favorites)..... OK...end of rant!

The Banpresto 1/144 line of transforming VF-1 valks did that with their VF's....each one in the line contained a -1J, 1A, and -1S head....kinda cool as no other company has ever provided that with their toys....

So what are you willing to pay for Arcadia YF-19?
jvmacross replied to 1/1 LowViz Lurker's topic in Toys
Guess it all depends on how many flavors it will be offered in....Yamato always seemed to offer a plain vanilla and one with sprinkles! Perhaps Arcadia will only sell it as a gut-buster version!!! -
I'm afraid that at the new MSRP that Arcadia seems to be suggesting for their PT valks.....even the "everyman's" VF-1 has now become a "super-duper" collectible..... What will be the cost of the fully loaded YF-19 with armor, booster and ghost???
-
At those prices I can't rationalize adding more cels to my collection....I have never seen prices for cels as the ones that just sold going that high...it could have been just a bidding war among a couple of big spenders....I would have guessed about 400-500 usd for the Hikaru....wonder how much Mandarake paid for them or if they were consigned?....I know they pay about 50% of market value for toys people bring into their shops....
-
Really curious on what the packaging will look like for this.....as well as for the 30th VF-1J........wonder if they finally have decided on paying Tenjin/Hasegawa the rights to use his art on their boxes??? If so, may explain the higher prices..... If Arcadia decides to re-release their entire line with tenjin boxart........ugh.......

So how many Yamatos, Bandais, Takatokus, and/or Arcadias can you get with this kind of money...... https://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/auc_e/itemInfo.do?itemId=03012711330100006 https://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/auc_e/itemInfo.do?itemId=03003816020100001 ........

Wait....it's not like a Yamato V2 30th VF-1S DYRL Focker.......because it has a stand and it will say Arcadia on the box? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVqVdQYC44Y
-
150-200 usd for a complete copy....book with cover and obi, poster and film strip with slip sleeve and tassle....depending on image on film strip you may decide to pay more as the seller may be inclined to ask for more....
-
So Arcadia will now post new release info on non-Arcadia sites?....heck non-Japanese sites?!.... Looks like someone took a DYRL Focker V2 and adapted a YF-21 stand to hold it...

As a non-hard core follower of DC and comics characters or comics storylines in general ....my only benchmark for a Superman/Batman story is the Frank Miller story from the 80's..... I'll remain hopeful until the reviews are in....

Bandai 1/72 fully transform able VF-1 plastic kit for Macross 30th Ann
jvmacross replied to Vi-RS's topic in Model kits
this pic is the best effort I have seen at "making" the battroid legs and waist look "normal".....but the head still looks huge!!! I get the feeling that Bandai will pull a "Frontier DX Renewal" move all over again....it will probably "redo" this kit in a 1/48 scale and perhaps release it as a fully-built "HCM" 21st century update or simply release it as a DX toy... -

Well...they do make creepy angelphilia dolls..... So maybe a Sheryl "wedding dress" edition?
-
Good idea....however, it will not let me delete the votes..... So either a MOD needs to go in and delete all existing votes...or everyone can go back in and delete your current vote and recast it.... So we know the 30th VF-1 is first, the YF-19 2.0 is next....what do you want to be third??? Have fun with it.....

Know the original Jetfire toy from the 80's?....That was based off of the original Macross perfect transformation toy from the early 80's sold by Takatoku Toys.... This site is probably the best for showcasing the original Takatoku Macross line from the early 80's (BTW, Takatoku went out of business by 1984): http://www.toyboxdx.com/datafiles/data/takatoku2/macross1.php Flash forward 3 decades and you find Yamato...the company that resurrected the Macross perfect transformation valkyrie and arguably mastered their design and production (Incidentally, Yamato also went out of business....see a pattern?...actually, they have risen once again from the ashes as Arcadia....it is widely anticipated that they will continue the line where Yamato left off)....this is the best site to find out everything you would want to know about Yamato Macross toys... http://anymoon.com/blog/ Also...Bandai has always been there producing Macross toys here and there...but only until recently, have they paid more attention to their Macross licenses....you can also find out info about Bandai Macross toys on the Anymoon website...... Welcome to Macross collecting.......it's gonna be a wild ride!
