You don't think that article would be interesting to read....especially by some of the newer board members that may not be familiar with the history behind Takatoku's eventual demise?

Macross Frontier Movies BD Boxset WITH ENGLISH SUBS!
jvmacross replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
Does the "free shipping" offer come with tracking or any kind of insurance? To those that have had a chance to really go over the books.... I just briefly had a chance to thumb through the two books (who knows when I will be able to actually view the films)....but it seems most of the illustrations and production genga can be found in the various previously published Macross F books. Besides the cover art for the BD boxes....is there any other new art in these books?- 286 replies

Yeah.....not even Experten has attempted that beast! Would the AZ-130A be tougher to engineer as anything remotely resembling a line-art accurate PT valk than even the VF-11MAXL?

YOU can't infer what my answer would be based on my post?.....sorry I can't possibly make it any simpler for you..... But anyway, how much more expensive is a Macross PT valk compared to a Macross CD? Wow....so if the number of individual units of expensive Valks sold does not exceed that of individual CD sales......we should infer that VF and Mecha "pillar" should be eliminated from Macross? Really?

Several of this seller's Macross cel listings have been repeatedly relisted...and always at the same prices......he has much patience and it appears it will be rewarded soon enough! Iconic cels are priceless anyway.....

Of the three pillars...the loss of any VF mecha on a heavily sponsored animated production would surely enrage the majority of long-time fans.....he can "experiment" all he wants with musicals that barely anyone outside (or inside?) of Japan are able to enjoy..... It's funny that he would "complain" about it.....I guess in a way he painted himself into his own "creative" corner, in terms of the animated shows........but if anyone can change "the pillars of Macross" it would be him and he would need to sell "the change" to his sponsors....namely Bandai....and how hard would it be to abandon a 30-year formula of success?

You need to sign up with a proxy service that will allow you to place bids and then receive the items for you in Japan...pack it up....and then ship it to your country.... All you need is time and money!....but mostly money....

Yes...of course. The parallel world explanation is merely a device to shrug off inconsistencies between the shows. It's Macross's Grand Unified Theory! However, the three main concepts of Macross will never change and can be expected to be played out in each animated series, including the next one. Thanks for posting the vid.

Been looking for a complete set of these Bandai E-Graphics cards/postcards......never expected to find an new, old-stock box full of them! Funny thing is cards is one genre of Macross collecting that I have never been into...but I do collect Macross postcards.....so an exception had to be made!....

Assuming no spawn have left the gate.....and you are in no rush to see a subtitled SDFM......perhaps it may be worthwhile waiting.....who knows what good things may come as a result of the latest Macross F English-subtitled movie release..... In either case....an Animego boxset can be found on ebay for relatively cheap.....like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Animego-Macross-Robotech-Series-DVDs-/231169192471?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35d2c1f217

Thanks for that info! So alternate-universe-ish? Still better than Macross II! Anyways.....makes sense...way too many things different in Macross the First to simply be a "re-telling"...both in terms of technology and events......
-
Seems Macross the First is an alternate universe story already.......
