  1. the pilot figures are looking good....so far my favorite pilot figurine is the one that came with the first 1/48 VF-1A low-viz...followed by the original Macross Zero pilot figures....
  2. Clearly you must be seeing things......
  3. Perhaps several were bought out of pure speculation. Since VF-4G type returns did not materialize quickly like they did for the Lighting....people have started to unload them....
  4. My first exposure to the DYRL film was via the 2 volume film comics and the This is Animation #11 DYRL book....I remember liking the designs, etc....but still preferring the "look" of the TV show......still do to this day....I think I watched the movie in '85 or '86 at an anime club near Chicago.....Greater Chicago Megazone Anime Club I think it was called....the late 80's was a fun time......and I've been hooked on Macross since!..... In honor of the 30th Anniversary of the Summer of Macross.....here are some original DYRL movie theatre memorabilia from the original 1984 release: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=40307 http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=37110
  5. I think it is probably unfair to judge Arcadia on the YF-19.....sure, it was more or less talked up as the rebirth of the Perfect Transformation Macross valk.....but many felt it just missed greatness.....the fact is the YF-19 was Arcadia's quasi first attempt at bringing a new PT onto the market...... I'm pretty sure Arcadia sold out of all of their YF-19's due to it being the first "new" release...but it clearly did not correlate to 100% customer satisfaction.... They need to hit it out of the park with the VF-0D.....I wonder how many of those willingly returning/trading their used YF-19's will jump in so eagerly into a VF-0D? That is what is worrisome.....
  6. When compared to what the same item can fetch via auction, everything sold to Mandarake is at a loss to the owner.....thus why Mandarake's prices are able to beat auction (market) prices most of the time....bad for the original owner....good for you and me.....Mandarake could not remain in business if they paid real market prices for their stock.....their business model resembles that of a pawn shop....nothing wrong with that.....it is what it is and serves a purpose...quick cash for your beloved collectibles and other stuff.... As for the YF-19, I guess most casual collectors were less than impressed with it.....which does not bode well for Arcadia....
  7. The size reminds me of a modern version of the old Takatoku Henkei SDF-1......looks very toy-like unpainted...still want one.....
  8. With a new Macross series just around the corner....a Macross Chronicle v3.0 is sure to follow! They'll "fix" your -17S on the final issue of a 100 issue run!
  9. Just keep an eye out...more will show up eventually....
  10. Yamato 1/60 V2 VF-1D first release, no option parts - used - 17,500 JPY (before proxy fees and shipping) http://page4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d156445151
  11. Looks like this movie is finally doing away with what many fans always complain about...the "origin" story....at least for Batman....which is good and I hope the film makers are rewarded for this.... I haven't re-watched MOS since my first viewing on bluray...but I think the movie was pretty much a reboot/origin story for Superman....in the movie he "comes out to the world" with unfortunate consequences....assuming that Batman is already a known "super" hero in this new film "universe".....Superman would have already known about Batman via the media, etc? If so, he's probably going to Gotham to "introduce" himself (thus the pic which seemingly portrays Gotham).....but being fresh off from the destruction of Metropolis...I'm going to guess Bats/Gotham isn't rolling out the red carpet for the MOS...... I think the way they portray Batman's take on Superman will make or break this movie (at the end of MOS, the US government isn't too happy with Superman...I'm guessing Batman is needing to figure out his own opinion of him)..... just like the marvel movies, the DC movies should essentially be about the population of Earth coming to grips with the existence of forces that have the potential to destroy our planet (need for a SHIELD-like organization)....... If I were Lex...that's the angle I'd take and perhaps want to form a SHIELD-like organization in conjunction with world governments (he'll probably be the head of some ultra high tech/weapons company...perhaps he'll propose some joint-venture with Wayne enterprises.....which should provide some good scenes with Lex and Bruce)....and perhaps he may even have Batman/Gotham/Metropolis/World governments as allies at first, until Batman via "Bruce Wayne" uncovers his true motives....thus forcing Batman to ultimately side with Superman or at least considering him the lesser of two "evils"...perhaps at the end (due to incarceration/escape?) Lex's proposed Earth protection organization (like SHIELD) is dumped by world leaders in favor of the Justice League....consisting totally of Super Heroes.....like the Avengers.... Stepping off the speculation soapbox now.....
  12. If you no longer need it after your review...I'd be interested in buying it...
  13. great deal if you can get it....unfortunately....not the going market price.... Yamato 1/60 VF-1A Angel Birds without clear fan racer kit, NON-Macross Chronicle edition - 24,000 JPY (before proxy fees and shipping) http://page13.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r116153874
  14. Yamato 1/60 VF-19 Kai and Sound Booster - used - 21,000 JPY (before proxy fees and shipping) http://page7.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g134729204
  15. As long as it is fully painted, I'll buy it. Although it's still kind of a silly release....hoping it's just a filler while they put together the announcement for the 1/3000 TV SDF-1 for 2016.......but if I continue to support Arcadia, it must be a "completely new" offering and this qualifies in my book....not gold accented valks nobody needs...
  16. Nice work. I imagine it belonging to an ace pilot before being reassigned to a Glaug. But I'm wondering, would a Regult ever get to be that worn out? Unless the pilot is an ace...I'm guessing the Regult would be floating scrap metal in space sooner rather than later...not one in service for hundreds of years...enough to become a rust bucket. And if the pilot was that good...he/she would probably get a better mech. Wonder what the average service life is for a Regult in the Macross universe?
  17. Wow....arguably the undisputed champ among all other past Yamato/Arcadia shelf-warmers... I don't recall a Kakizaki ever getting that low of a discount....
