  4. Thanks for starting this buildup thread. When you have a chance can you also list the supplies you will be using...especially the type of glue. Looking forward to your progress.
  5. indeed it is...thanks! (and since they already went with issue "81"...hopefully they will start at 82 when this magazine inevitably returns...wishful thinking...I know )
  6. Like it or not...it's still Macross! Check out this site for more info on the mecha designs seen on Macross II: http://macross2.net/m3/macross2/macross2-index.html In short, Macross II is an alternate universe story based on events after Macross: DYRL...which also leads to the other storyline that happens to include Macross Plus, Macross 7, Macross Frontier.... Actually, as of this minute, I believe it's been said that every Macross series is an alternate universe in itself......confused? Don't be....just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!
  7. Thanks! BTW....is there any info that states whether the Protoculture created humans in the image of the Zentradi and Meltrandi (not the Protoculture themselves)...if so, why do the Zolans "look" different? Are they not also results of Protoculture manipulation? I am wondering if they "planted the seed" sort of how it was insinuated in the film "Prometheus"....and the resulting life form develops based on the planet's environment....I'm only guessing (unless it has been specifically pointed out in Macross Chronicle or somewhere else) that the Protoculture were human-like, but not exactly the same.....
  8. good point...and moved onto expensive transformable TOYS!!!
  9. Maybe Arcadia should consider the Metal Siren!!! Perhaps it would have some Gundam customer spillover effect for added sales!
  10. Are they insinuating that the Protoculture can return physically? Hmmmm....fodder for new TV series plot speculation? BTW, is all the stuff written in Macross Chronicle canon (at least until noted otherwise)? When info was not known before, who is approving what is being written? Kawamori? BW? Someone else? 80.....81 if you are a completist or breaking apart your magazines.....but then again.....who knows....there may be 82+!!!
  11. Would you settle on an itty-bitty one for now? I hope not. The worrisome thing about releasing one new mold a year is what happens if the release is less than successful? better make sure your re-releases are what your customers want I guess....
  12. Smart kid
  13. Maybe....a shrinking niche within a niche in Macross collecting....maybe a devoted poster showcase section can be setup on MW at some future time to archive as many as we have collectively.... Also....posters are tough to display...unless you have enough space or have the time to change up your display....
  14. http://anime-busience.jp/ Looks like some trade publication....nice cover though! But looks like not much else in terms of Macross inside.....can anyone confirm? Illustration by Atsushi Takeuchi
  15. As in other aspects of Macross, two realities can happily coexist.....well, except Macross II..... As for the whole gap issue...I think I'll go with team T-Rex/Tenjin.....instead of what is depicted on film.....which under most circumstances I would accept as canon.....I'll go with the notion that extra armor plates were added to Isamu's -25 boosters to cover the gap!
  16. Actually, I believe close313 has it right....there is supposed to be a gap as shown in the screen capture. These boosters are not designed for the YF-19 (possible in-universe explanation for the gap shown)....there would be no reason for it to have been "drawn"/depicted with the gap in the film.....doesn't anime magic usually take care of these inconsistencies on screen?)..... I do not think the T-Rex parts address this "gap"....the T-rex parts were designed to look more like the recent Tenjin illustration of the YF-19 EF /A "Isamu Special".....which begs the question...which is canon? Gap or no Gap?
  17. Yamato 1/48 VF-1A Low Viz grey version - new - 25,500 (before fees and shipping) http://page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n133024665
  18. Thanks for asking that....and it sure beats a response like "no plans whatsoever"...
  19. In response to the topic's question....nope However, what I would want is for this to finally wash up to shore.... I'm thinking no one will ever see Robotech Academy either...
  20. Pre-history? VF-1 concept drawing......53,000 JPY (before shipping) http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/auction/item/itemInfoEn.html?index=279060
  21. One of a kind, scarcity, personal meaning to the buyer......it is basically the same reasons why some folks pay so much for art....(or HTF Macross toys!)......but there is a lot of variation in the prices...I guess the more iconic the scene or the more popular a character or mecha is....the more you can expect a cel to sell for.....Hikaru, Misa and Minmay cels generally sell for more than supporting character cels.....but when considering a Fokker or Millia cel...the price is still somewhat always high......
