Sounds like an interesting project, however, something cannot become very popular if it is not readily available or widely known by the consuming public. You definitely will not get to the bottom of your questions without learning more about the history of Robotech/Harmony Gold as well. Good Luck!

Well...alternate as in like the story told by different folks.... Actually...I can see how Max would "appear" much older to the "kids" from Thunderdome.....thus how he is projected onscreen to the viewer....makes perfect sense if each film is the story of Max (post-apocalyptic messiah) as told by one of his "disciples".... Mastermind indeed....

That it's an alternate universe take on the ongoing story? Yeah...that's what I had already thought/posted before you posted it...but I was wondering if within the existing 3 movies if this was a direct sequel (within the film's timeline or not)....if Miller says it is...then who are we to argue with that.... Actually, it sort of reminds me of what they did with Evil Dead (the original) and Evil Dead 2......heck...I guess you can add the Evil Dead remake too (although I have yet to see it, but I think it is more of a reboot from what I've read)..... It even reminds me of Kawamori's current explanations of the Macross series...that each one is a sequel, but not necessarily following the timeline originally created with SDFM... Guess sometimes it's just better to just sit back and enjoy the show....

Best trailer I've seen in a while. So much going on. It looks like at least three different factions in that chase scene. The dude with the mechanical looking skull jaw looks creepy as hell.....perhaps the best Mad Max villain ever? Based on the pics and trailer...it almost looks like maybe that white haired chick is related to that creepy skull face guy....and that pale faced kid seen in previous pics a possible escapee from that "cult" of other pale faced dudes...lots of "win" so far... Hope this is good..... And it sure looks like an alternative universe reboot to me.....even has the old Interceptor from the Road Warrior....nothing says a continuation from Mad Max 4...and definitely not a prequel!

I wish for Arcadia to try out a different way of selling/selecting what to produce.... I think they should adopt a model like that of a subscription service/build to order. On their site they would present 2-3 different VFs or other mecha from the show....along with a price tier showing what the price would be based on the number of orders received. The "down payment" would be non-refundable. Only the models with the highest votes/advance payments would get green-lighted. Those that do not, would be bumped and included on future "online voting" offerings...to give them another chance to see production. In this manner, they would minimize the risk of losing their money with buyers that flake out when it comes time to pay for "pre-orders". Maybe they could sweeten the deal by adding special options or accessories to their toys for those that fully commit to full payment in advance. Who knows...all I know is whatever system they are currently using that says re-releasing a VF-19 Kai with gold accents is a good idea....needs to be scrapped!

Just remembered.....there is probably also a difference in the cockpit canopies between TV and DYRL...but that also goes for all VF-1 types....

just the hands....it is animated both with and without the grey visor on the TV show...but just with grey visor on film version....unless the grey visor is part of the GBP setup???
