  1. BTW...since you are new...you currently have an opportunity to get in on two separate Macross toy scales....the widely accepted standard of 1/60 (offered mostly by Arcadia (fka Yamato) and Bandai) and the often attempted 1/100 scale....currently being re-launched by Bandai's Hi-Metal R line (the name does not imply "high metal content"....but gives homage to the glory days of 80's Bandai Hi-Metal Macross toys)... Here is the link to the discussion on the 1/100 Hi Metal R line.....the pre-order for the first release is later tonight...the GBP-1J.... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=41926

Bandai owns the mold now...it would be interesting if the decided to sell a pre-built one.....it would be an instant buy for me
  5. Hello and Welcome to Macross World and to Macross collecting!!! There are several existing threads that will contain the info you seek.... For webshops used to purhcase Macross toys: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=41210 You can also search for Macross toys and collectibles on Yahoo Japan Auctions and Mandarake...for YJA you will need a proxy service like Buyee or Rinkya....there is a thread that compares the pros and cons of several proxies...just use the "search" tool to locate it.... Here are some ongoing threads were folks list items spotted on YJA and Mandarake.... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=41093 http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=41092 There are several good review sites for Macross toys, but I usually recommend this one: http://www.anymoon.com/blog/ Additionally, everything you want to know about the various mecha from Macross can be found here: http://www.macross2.net/m3/m3.html I'm not too much into podcasts, but go to the Macross World main page for links to one associated with this site....the main page is a good source for the latest Macross news in general, including new toy announcements... http://www.macrossworld.com/ However, the best place to get the latest news and discussions regarding released and upcoming Macross toys is the "Macross Toys" forums.... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showforum=4 Finally, it is a good idea to run a search first before posting a new topic.....or simply posting your "Macross Toy FAQ" in this thread: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=33093 Good Luck!.... ...and once again...Welcome to the World of Macross Collecting!

    Hi-Metal R

Yep...forgot about those.....I guess depending on what you want to classify as a "toy"...you can also add these little fellows...

heheh...I'll give them some credit on releasing the 1/100 Regult vinyls...but I guess now they are pointless too....poor Toynami yep....you get what you pay for I suppose... At 1/100...is this also possible???
  11. jvmacross

    Hi-Metal R

I had forgotten all about the 1/100 GBP Toynami announced a while back...he sculpted that one too, no? What a waste of talent. Idiots! This release pretty much makes the Toynami pointless...

Bandai is pretty clever....or pure evil genius... They know that scores of Macross collectors are neck deep in the entire SDF Macross TV line from Yamato....in 1/60...... It would be tough to drop that line and go to a V3 (or DX?...yet)..........so they go balls out with a pretty complete line in 1/100....much cheaper and much easier to rationalize the double dip..... I have to admit...without the inclusion of the Destroids and Zentran mechs...this would be much easier to pass..... Way to go Bandai! Now all we need is this....do it!!!!! Take our money!!!!!
  13. jvmacross

    Hi-Metal R

So unless Bandai is totally trolling us....they are hell-bent on bringing us a pretty decent 1/100 set of the most important SDFM mechas.... VF-1 Fab Five (VF-1S Roy, VF-1J Hikaru, MAx & Milia VF-1Js, and the VF-1A Standard Type) Potentially all of the Destroids - ALL OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Regult (and how easy would it be for them to sell websclusive weapons packs and a Scout Regult?) The Glaug!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bandai is making collecting Macross Toys fun again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't forget the blue Phalanx variant!

    Hi-Metal R

There hasn't been a Glaug toy since.....well....this... All we need now is the addition of the Tomahawk, Defender, and Phalanx....it's good to be a Macross Fan!

    Glaug!!!!

  24. Thank you for your responses! I am trying to find out if anyone during 1984-1987 could recall seeing a very unusual, probably "one of a kind" Takatoku Macross toy in one of the stores selling Japanese toys in Lima, Peru. This toy was not a toy that was released for sale to anyone, it would have been a store display or perhaps a promotional item. If you had seen this, you would know it was not a regular Takatoku toy that anyone could have bought. Because I have only been told about this alleged toy by one person, I do not want to say what it is, in hopes that someone else can identify the same toy to me...which would help make it more possible for it to be true. For now, it may just be a case of someone thinking they saw it, a cloudy childhood memory!
