The latest Japanese release of DYRL also "edits" some violent content...
-
Guess all evidence of grey goggles was removed from the box! Wonder if they'll pull similar nonsense if they reissue the max and milia -1J's... Well, at least Bandai seems to know what they're doing...

Tenjin did the box art? Didn't think it was when I saw it. The news keeps getting better on this line!

Although I really enjoyed this chapter of the Mad Max franchise....I left thinking it was just The Road Warrior: Special Edition....

Wow...... seriously? I've always hoped Bandai would re-issue the classic Hi-Metal 1/55....but I'll settle for these.... Genius move..... So what's left to do at this scale for a complete DYRL set?? VF-1S Max? Q-Raus....N-Ger?
-
Bandai continuing to impress....everything looks like an instabuy for me so far.... So does that tiny hatch on the Spartan look like it opens?
-
Must be that high licensing fee they are paying BigWest!!!!
-
Agreed. I may have grabbed all of them if they had sold the armors separately as well. At that price I might be tempted in the Roy at some later date.....like during a clearance...

Truly Super Dimensional!!! Looking forward to the completed works!

Beginning with yours... Destroids, Regults and Glaugs don't transform......so I think it's reasonable to expect Bandai to deliver at a price point below that of their VF Hi-Metal toys...even including a few cool "gimmicks"...I also don't think adding Destroid pilots will price out anyone....
-
Don't want to take credit for the OPs "dream".... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=41926&p=1199167 ...but I support "big dreamers"....nothing great would ever come from supporting the small thinkers, preservers of the status quo, or run-of-the mill naysayers......
-
Absolutely....but why shoot down a simple idea or desire to see something by using pure speculation and personal opinion.... We don't know what Bandai will or won't do with this line yet....all we know is this is the same company that released V1 Frontier valks....then gave us the renewal...I don't think we should underestimate what Bandai can do at any scale.....In the end it seems your concern is not whether Bandai can do it but rather if they should do it....thus increasing the price...doubling the price?...only Bandai would know......at any rate a valid concern....I personally would want the best toy with as many gimmicks they can successfully pull off while delivering a solid toy...if that includes a pilot....great....if not....It's still an insta-buy for me....
-
One MW member dared to voice his desire for a pilot and folks get all bent out of shape.......just another day on the interwebs!
-
not sure how much weight a small plastic or rubber figurine would add to a hollowed-out Regult "pod" cockpit...just add more "Hi-Metal" to the legs and/or feet....
-
But if the toy is designed properly and with the gimmick of including a pilot right from the start, it would work, no? Just because Yamato was not able to do it, does not mean it can't be done by someone else. Also, Yamato never tried to build a Regult Toy....they made a kit. More gimmicks = More epic........if done right..........the only downside to that would be price.

I'm ok with shorter Zentrans......It's all about framing the shot and perspective anyways
-
meh....Zentran come in all shapes, sizes and colors.....

1) Since you mentioned that you really like the Frontier valks....then my advice would be to stick with Frontier valks......most are readily available and at prices close to MSRP.....if you decide that you must have all the other valks.....then accept that the hobby will manage YOU! 2) The only way a sold out valk's current market price will come down is if a re-release is announced or if it wasn't that popular to begin with.....sadly, that no longer is happening with Arcadia valks as they are produced at much lower quantities than they were during the Yamato days..... 3) If you had $350.....I'd go for the VF-0D...I am pretty sure it will not get a second release any time soon and will probably be selling for $400-450 by next year (see YF-19)....any YF-29 is easy to find and the prices have seemed to stabilize recently.....However, if you want to focus on one line or show....get the YF-29...or save your cash for another year or so and get the latest valks from Macross Delta!!!
