Nice...I don't generally collect autographs but I do happen to have the world's largest shikishi with an original Tenjin illustration and autograph.... -
Bandai may go for the double-dip with this one! They'll include the "still wrong" chest-striped TV VF-1J "abomination" with the 100% TV GBP combo set with yellow-tipped missiles...which will also have similar low production numbers as they will be sticking into the combo set the other half of the VF-1J's they withheld from PO's today! It will go down as the holy grail of HMRs!

Actually I took the Doyusha's out of the vault to pose them with the Aviation Fighters 1/144 Admiral Kuznetsov lighted Diorama Deck I recently picked up.....I have about 4 other carrier deck/hangar displays for my 1/60 valks that I have posted before....I like the 1/144 stuff, but it does not compare to the 1/60 stuff....although if anyone has this deck and plans to dress it up with the Tomytec gimmix valks and accessories...it should make for a nice mini display....

It is a regular release...you should be able to find it at all the regular online retailers.....good luck!
-
The closest in scale would be the WHAM SDF-1 in 1/5000....it comes in "movie color" and "a blue chrome-like" paint scheme....you can still find it on auction sites like eBay and Yahoo japan Auctions....

Bandai should immediately stop allowing Tenjin to deface the covers of these otherwise 100% perfect toys! (quick! make some room behind that dumpster for me! )
-
Cool...looking forward to your finished work! BTW...it may have been planned for actual release by Bandai back in the day....sadly, it never happened...
-
Sure...next you'll be telling us these are "Super Real Models".... Wouldn't it be funny if Bandai just rolled with Tenjin's illustration? It's Tenjin's fault!!!
-
It would be an awesome gesture to the fans...heck, toss them in with the upcoming TV VF-1J and call it a day! If I recall correctly, a similar situation happened when Yamato released their Macross Chronicle exclusive 1/48 VF-1A Max TV type....they forgot to include the TV style clown hands.....to "correct" the omission, they included an extra set of TV clown hands with their Macross Chronicle exclusive 1/48 VF-1A Kakizaki TV type....of course, to get the correct hands you'd have to buy the Kakizaki...but still, they actually did something to correct the issue....
-
That's just it...it was a mistake....not even sure Bandai has ever owed up to it....I'm guessing Japanese fans aren't that critical so they probably won't....the fact that Bandai is releasing a VF-1A with both TV and DYRL parts means they are totally aware of the differences between both versions.....the same can now be said with their upcoming TV VF-1J..... So, the current HMR GBP is 100% a DYRL release that went into production with the wrong color missile tips.....we forgive you Bandai! Keep those HMR's coming!!!
-
LOL....if you're still convinced the recent HMR GBP was not a DYRL version release, then I guess the horse in that gif must be you.....go ahead and drink the water, Mr. Ed....it's safe!
