  1. All I remember from the original show was the opening theme song....wasn't the original series in competition with the new Twilight Zone at the time?

  3. Close to 8 inches including the big guns
  4. Maybe....But here's the back of the wallet for now...
  5. My wallet won't burn, it's protected by a super dimensional barrier system...but it seems to uncontrollably space fold cash straight into Bandai's and Arcadia's bank accounts....
  6. Wait...this is Megahouse....what are the chances for another nod to the original Takatoku-style vintage packaging? Just like they did for the Orgroid.... Looking forward to displaying this next to the original 1/6300 Takatoku!....
  7. Well, apparently they also have the license for the DYRL "cactus" command ship......and we were all on pins and needles waiting for that one right? Right?!?! Maybe that is a sign of the limits of Arcadia's DYRL license......
  8. A sneak-peek of my first and only "fire" sale......
  9. No, just speculation...edited my post to be more of a "what if" condition....basically, if Arcadia lost rights to make 1/60-ish PT SDFM/DYRL toys, it would most likely be because Bandai would have paid BW more than what Arcadia could afford to retain them.....and Spanner76 would be forced to replace his entire collection with Bandai DX VF-1's!!!
  10. LOL.....I'd be happy to lose that bet considering what the implication would be of Arcadia no longer owning the rights to producing 1/60-ish DYRL/SDFM VF-1 PT toys.... However, the ongoing HMR line kind of cools the idea of the prophesized DX VF-1....at least for now..... I mean Macross seems hot right now and about to get hotter...but could Bandai really keep a DX "legacy" 1/60 line, a HMR 1/100 line, and the new MD DX lines selling well all at the same time without canibalizing sales from each other? The only way that may succeed would be the complete takeover of the Macross PT toy market....in other words, no "Yamatos" around to completely flood the market and have stock selling at cut-rate prices.....so....Maybe? That would surely go against the whole new Macross marketing ploy of "Fight Together".......maybe that's just for the kits though.... When it comes to the toys.....Bandai may want it all...
  11. Pretty sure the VF-1D will get a re-release....and when that happens they may do a web-only release of the Virgin Road....maybe But with the VF-4G now coming out......you can likely expect a VT-1 Super Ostrich and Max and Milia Super VF-1J's.....then maybe a 1/3000 SDF-1 TV or Battle 7...

You know what would be really cool for Bandai to do....to offer free yellow tipped missile inserts..... Then.....we shall have peace.... Until then.....Bandai did not screw up anything on the HMR GBP-1J release except the missile tips... Also for the record....the GBP is 100% DYRL based on the pilot alone....why? Take a look at the position of the hands.....on the first HM VF-1J Bandai specifically molded the TV Hikaru pilot holding the flight stick between his legs....on the HMR the pilot has both hands to his side.....Arcadia and Yamato do the same thing with their pilots do differentiate between TV and movie versions.... Plus....these are nowhere to be found in the HMR... So basically, the Bandai HMR GBP-1J is the first ever DYRL version released as a set....a shame Bandai missed the yellow missile tips....

Ok....thanks for bolding them.... So Bandai screwed up the HMR GBP-1J release according to you for the following reasons.... Maybe coz Bandai or their distributors still have lots of unsold inventory of the older 1J variant. I haven't seen any at online retail shops for years....plus if Bandai has plenty of unsold stock....why release one in grey? Or maybe they want to somehow placate the early HM adopters. How so? This is an all new DYRL version....it is an all new offerring and adding the armor so early adopters don't feel totally taken...again, this is a DYRL VF-1J not a TV version flown by Hikaru... The only way to get a proper Hikaru pilot is to get the older HM variant. Exactly....why do you continue to say that Bandai screwed up when the current release is NOT INTENDED TO BE HIKARU....thus, you need to get the previous HM VF-1J if you are hell-bent on a true Hikaru VF-1J.... Again, the only thing Bandai screwed up on is not painting the missile tips yellow on what is clearly a DYRL version of a GBP armored VF-1J......

So the fact the box has a DYRL logo on it means nothing to you? Fair enough I guess.... And Bandai already released a TV version of the VF-1J in their HM line....it was bright white and had the SDFM logo on the box.....plus TV style "clown" hands and a TV style helmet wearing 100% Hikaru included....

Is the Bandai HMR GBP-1J a DYRL or SDFM version?

Good point....several things are different in DYRL vs SDFM.....maybe 310 gets the 1....320 gets the 2....330 gets the 3.....who knows.....anyone know the answer to how the numbers get assigned to GBP's in DYRL?

You are stuck on the idea that only Hikaru can commandeer a GBP armored VF-1J....clearly the film demonstrated that this is not the case....in the DYRL continuity....at least during the time in which the viewer is introduced to Hikaru...Hikaru pilots a VF-1A.....so obviously someone else is piloting the GBP seen in DYRL.... The HMR is marketed as DYRL version....the logo is right on the box.....additionally it is a BigWest licensed/endorsed product....Bandai knew it was not Hikaru piloting the GBP....so they probably just took the liberty with the pilot scheme.....as no one knows exactly what that pilot looks like or who he/she is....you can't say it is wrong or right....in other words...saying they screwed up the pilot is incorrect....what we do know is that the missile tips should have been yellow....that they did screw up....unless there are red tipped missiles seen in DYRL..... Oh and regarding the gunpod....it's right on the box....so if it's good enough for Big West....it's good enough for you....

But if they never showed the pilot in the DYRL GBP sequence....then how do you know they screwed it up? Next thing you'll be telling me is the pilot of the VF-4G is you, when I know it's really me!!!

I sent a message to NY whether order placed during the early window would be guaranteed the stand....they said yes... I don't trust them enough not to screw that up, so will probably use a proxy.... yup...

In DYRL, the VF-1J you refer to is piloted by someone else, not Hikaru....so Bandai did not screw up the pilot.....the GBP-1J is a DYRL type....what Bandai screwed up was the missile tips....

I have not checked....but is the pilot on the new HMR VF-1J removable this time around? Guessing it still isn't, but it does look much better.
