  1. We already have a "DX" VF-1.....it's currently produced by Arcadia..... If you follow the history of Macross VF-1 toys....we are due for an all-new "DX" scaled VF-1.....we just do not know who will release it...so far the "evidence" indicates it may be Bandai.... The 1/35th VF-1 could be either a massive thank you to the fans for 35 years of supporting the franchise (or a middle finger depending on your point of view/finances)....or simply Bandai giving us a taste of what's to come in a "DX" scale.... Yamato used the knowledge gained in designing their 1/48 to release the 1/60.....Bandai could be doing the same with the 1/35 but instead will skip its release and go straight to the "DX" scale version...only time will tell...
  2. I'm thinking summer or late 2019 for the DYRL 1/35th Anniversary VF-1......which means no DX-scaled VF-1 until after 2019.....I'm guessing it will be a limited run, in terms of model types....VF-1J and VF-1S Roy or possibly the VF-1S Hikaru with SSP..... This means more HMR VF-1's to come so as not to cannibalize on other Bandai PT VF-1 scales... The HMR DYRL VF lineup will be close to completion by the time the SuperO is released (if you count the HM VF-1A's).....all they would need is a Max -1S (websclusive?).... The SDFM HMR lineup will need to catch up quickly...so Bandai has possibly until 2019/2020 to finish up.... Guessing we will see a VF-1D (VR?) and the rest of Vermillion Squadron...in-between the Tomahawk, Phalanx, Q-Rau, N-Ger and possibly a Scout Regult.....at this point I think we may not get the Alaska Base -1A, Cavaliers, or AngelBirds (hoping for websclusives)....instead they may finish off the HMR VF-1 lineup with the Macross Delta VF-1A Hayate and Mirage set.....
  3. Congrats! Where did you purchase from? I have one on PO with AmiAmi but they keep pushing back the release....I am tempted to cancel it if I can get it somewhere else...
  4. Will probably go with Amazon.jp.....shipping is fast and reasonable... https://www.amazon.co.jp/マクロス-ヴァリアブルファイター-デザイナーズノート-GA-Graphic/dp/4797393696
  5. Proxy service
  6. The release date appears to be sometime in December....between the 8th and 22nd.... http://www.shop.post.japanpost.jp/shop/g/gCS7970009011 I have some coming in so it should be a very Merry Macrossmas this year!
  7. If Bandai decides to expand the Macross segment of their HMR line into say a "VFs of Macross" line in the same scale (1/100-ish)...then they would, in theory, eventually get to the VF-31 and SV-262....but that may be some years from now.....several years.....it would make no sense for Bandai to cannibalize their Macross Delta DX line at this juncture with "HMR" type editions..... If you just want the Messer and Keith VFs from the Delta show, then find a good deal and just get the DX versions...... Welcome to MacrossWorld, you don't come here to get advice on saving money by being patient!!!

I wish it could.....actually....that would be a great custom accessory.....extra pilots and a canopy modified to allow headroom for the pilots......
  9. I think it would be a fair assumption.....much less and way better in terms of finish, accessories and gimmicks.... I hope this turns out to be Bandai's flagship collectible for their Macross 35th Anniversary lineup.....although I'd be happy if we get the 1/35th VF-1.....or why not both? And if they release a 1/3000-ish instead....it will definitely be cheaper

  17. Yes, I'm surprised. Settei by default are reproduced during the animation process and handed out to the actual animators working on the production. So technically, if you can grab a copy that was actually used during the production, it still qualifies as an authentic piece of Macross history in my opinion. I've seen sellers selling copies of the original production settei copies for a long time....most you can clearly tell are xeroxed. But, xeroxing production cels seems like a new thing and, like selling copies of settei copies, there is no effort involved in doing so. At least a really good fancel requires painting skills at minimum and you get something hand-made at the end. In the end, everyone is free to spend on what makes them happy I suppose. What Flashback settei do you have? Original one? Pic?

Development in progress!! Guess the final paint color has been a heated point of contention among the HMR staff for the last few years with the color blind members managing to hold firm on their shade of lavender-grey! Or perhaps the hold up is due to this destroid being able to actually walk on it's own and have sound and smoke effects when it shoots! It will then usher in the HMR 3.0 line with the re-release of all of them with new "super real type" gimmicks!
  19. There's a market for xerox color copies of cels? Think I would prefer a well-made fancel if the original was not available or attainable.

  21. Yes....in terms of KOs....the Takatoku Kanzen Henkei is arguably one of the most bootlegged toys ever made....indeed, unlicenced versions of practically all of the original schemes...and then some....were made....I myself have a VF-1A brownie KO that stood in for the original version for several years while I searched for it....an original Takatoku Kanzen Henkei VF-1A toy is one of the tougher ones to find these days....in fact, it was the last piece I found in my quest to complete my Takatoku Toys Macross collection.... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/42966-a-30-year-takatoku-macross-toy-quest…is-finally-over/
  22. boxed or just the game?
  23. Only the VF-1S, more or less, was released in a similar scheme as the original Takatoku Henkei.... There were no Max, Millia, Hikaru VF-1J's or the VF-1A brownie....at least not from the Convertors line you seem to be referring to.... Here are the VF's that were released from that line....incidentally they all use the VF-1S mold....
