yes....with all the final "tweaks" last made under the Yamato brand....

Some Macross DX VF-1 collectors have stuggled with this very line of thinking for at least 3-4 times since the original 1/55 back in 1983.....most have just come to their senses and realized that something better will always come at some point in the future...... We are a little past due for a DX VF-1 update.......use your "quiet time" to decide to either get out of the Macross collecting game or start saving money for what is surely to come.....

Most impressive! Not a big fan of the Thunder Hammer, but will encourage greater things via a purchase or two (is the the plan to make this available for purchase?)....it should fit the original Hi-Metal VF-1J too right?

Sometimes taking risks pays off....hopefully the cel is not stuck or it will not damage the sketch if removed....the seller brought down the price too so that's a good thing.....good luck

https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/j476283208 It is a beautiful illustration....the only other "officially" published example of it comes from the Macross Gold Book.... As you can see, it is drastically different...even though the main focal point, the Super O, is essentially the same. Several theories were bounced around...perhaps the Gold Book one is the "rough" sketch and the one sold via YJA is the final drawing....but why use the rough one on the Gold Book? And why has this pic not appeared anywhere else?....I do not collect the doujins of the SDFM/DYRL era, so I am wondering if the "cleaner" illustration may have appeared in one of them....any doujin collectors out there that can check their books? The other thing about the illustration is the lack of any signature...usually Kawamori signs his work, like his lineart. Or perhaps this one is actually drawn by Miyatake? The illustration is very similar to his Destroid and Mecha illustrations....very "clean" and "mechanically-realistic" in execution...also there are some examples of VF-1's drawn by Miyatake to add to the posssibilty of this being a Miyatake illustration.....however, I believe he too signs his work. The seller does not give any indication of knowing anything about the VT-1 illustration, where he got it from or who the illustrator is. There was no way to be certain as to the legitamacy of the illustration....even so, it is awesome nonetheless! Any of the other Macross cel and original art collectors here have any further insights into this illustration? And no, I did not win it, I would have liked to but not at the final price with too much uncertainty....this one got to stay in Japan I believe.....

Can't wait to get my Macross Fever Hikaru! I think it will come with the "Helmet Head" and a Helmet to hold...or the hair will be removable like Minmay's....this pic was from a few posts ago... Can't have a pilot suit Hikaru without his helmet!

I hope they don't move onto non-Macross Saga characters too soon.....the line would die....want this line to survive long enough to get Lisa, Max, Millia, Roy, Claudia, Gloval and Ben.....then if it survives those waves....Breetai, Zentran Soldier, Exedore, Bridge bunnies.... Heck....I'd take a Yotchan before they start thinking about Southern Cross or Mospeada...

If Bandai keeps dragging their feet....we may end up with a KC Breetai....which may not be a bad thing!

LOL....where's the second gun? *edit* I think I see it now....weird angle......also like the minmay doll accessory.......KC's stock is rising! All they need to do now is fix all of the issues with their 1/2000 TV SDF-1....do that and all will be forgiven!

@saffabrat..... Nice stuff...thanks for sharing and welcome to MW! As for where else to buy....there are a few, the biggest (most expensive) one online being Anime Link....but you may as well buy whatever you like off of YJA when you see it before they do and jack up the price!

Macross Δ Delta- Passionate Walkure Movie Program..... Macross Δ Delta- Passionate Walkure Clear File.....

Funny...because I was thinking more or less the same thing when I saw that KC SDFM Hikaru......been a long time coming....like I mentioned in another post.....the good thing about the KC offerings is that they are restricted (perhaps initially?) to the original SDFM characters and mechs.....imagine when they get to the DYRL stuff at that 1/12 or 1/6 scale.....tears of joy will flow... BTW....curiosity got the best of me...and the price didn't help.....so I ordered one of the SD VF-1's...went with the VF-1A Soldier Type with the FP......I have to say they look alot better in person and the quality is not bad.....if the 1/72 VF-1's they are releasing are just as good..or better....I will definitely be supporting KC's Macross efforts.....well, except those 1/6 scale bluetooth speakers.....I'll just have to wait for the 1/12 versions! Oh and I ordered the pull-back mini Minmays....so guess you can call me a KC supporter already!
