The Acolyte - Disney Plus Star Wars Series
jvmacross replied to jvmacross's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Probably was based on the expectations of what had come before, but that was before Diseny purchased Star Wars...and several blunders after that....so yeah....the expectations should not have been that high...lol -
Yeah...read about this...glad it's coming back....IMO....not being able to pick 3 rides as you could before the whole Covid mess started was worse than park reservations....especially coming from out of state.... Now we'll be able plan much better....still....nothing beats the old days when you could just show up and more or less get to enjoy everything you wanted out of the park with hardly any advanced planning....those days are never coming back....

Just caught up with the latest episode...wow Great season so far.....every show I normally watch has been really good, with the exception of The Acolyte...which is trying hard to end strong in the final episodes, but it may be another example of too little, too late...

The Acolyte - Disney Plus Star Wars Series

Not even that...for me, if it is animated or a 'live-action' movie or show...it's canon....so I feel I have watched almost all the Clone Wars and everything else that meets that criteria with the exception of the Resistance animated show and the latest toddler Jedi show that is on D+....and yet, it was still not enough...the show had me wondering what the heck I was watching on several occasions.... I found it funny though, how an episode later they 'schooled' the non-fanatics about 'Cortosis'....Darth Manny sort of explains 'Cortosis'....it's like the concept is brought up as a wink-wink, nod-nod to allow the mega fans to bask in their Star Wars 'street cred' while the rest of us have to wait for the explanation.... -
Are there any examples of non-Japanese markets receiving bad customer service from Bandai?...and I'm referring to legit legally sold Bandai items from either Bandai directly on non-Japan Bandai sites or their authorized resellers.... BTW....I don't consider having to send in the entire toy for a complete replacement "bad customer service"....more like inefficient internal processes, which I would not consider my problem unless it impeded me from getting my item made whole again...

I have one already en route from AmiAmi....but I have a couple more waiting to be shipped...wonder if these shops would be able to open and confirm the condition of the antenna....then again they can always lie then blame the shipping company....quite the catch22 cluster frakk indeed....think I'll just tempt fate this time....it's only first world problems...
-
Bandai is probably handling the antenna debacle on a case-by-case basis....for now...instead of just admiting they Bandai'd things up...

Exactly....the point is that Star Wars is way too entrenched in pop culture that it is highly unlikely to have a show where you will be able to appease most viewers especially when trying to come up with something new...."they ruined my Star Wars head canon!!!" -

Nah...you are by no means a filthy casual fan as you claim....you still have way too much knowledge of the various Star Wars lore out there....whether by accident or actively seeking it out....whether canon or not...regardless of source medium.... I'm thinking these shows only fit 2 demographics....hard core fans that simultaneously would never find any fault with anything "Star Wars" related....or people who have zero knowledge of anything Star Wars and are simultaneously easily entertained by white noise.... Occasionally they do come up with something more or less enjoyable by most....like Andor...and IMO it is because it respects what has come before it and does not try to recon or reinvent anything while also providing a generally good story... -
It's a WWM release....there is no shortage of squeaky wheels in the USA! I really want to see how this is handled here by Bandai USA...may finally be a good reason to pay more when buying local...lol

I was thinking about that new "supe" from The Boys that needs to get repeatedly lobotomized in order to enjoy her life.... From a certain point of view....you almost have to have any previous knowledge of any and all Star Wars lore...canon or legends...forcibly removed from your memory in order to be able to enjoy most of these new Disney shows "as is" with no backstory baggage from previous movies or books, etc.... Or would it just be easier to just go for the lobotomy? -
I am not seeing the adherence to the lineart.... ....or to the drawn anime cels used in the actual anime... Maybe someone can create a "parts-former piece" that can be swapped in for battroid mode...assuming the current back piece would be easy to remove... ....or simply wait for the renewal or HMR version...

From which retailer did you purchase yours from? Wonder if there is any pattern based on shop origin?

What retailer did you purchase yours from? Or was it from multiple shops?

It is revealed that the Witches all died playing some Squid Games style tournament sponsored by the Hutts and televised throughout the galaxy via underground gambling venues on Boonta Eve...all made possible and in conjunction with the help of a rogue contingent of the Jedi led by off-brand Nebula and her dirty Jedi crew... -

At this point I fully expect Sol to get decapitated by Darth Manny in the last episode as he is about to reveal all the shameful things he and his deviant crew did on Witch Mountain.....then the screen goes black -

Although I would like to have their Glaug and Destroids....I feel weary about giving them anything via a Kickstarter....I already stopped POrdering anything from them requiring a deposit since the Regults....so this move with the Kickstarter just seems like I was not the only one who stopped either.... Also....apparently they already have the majority of the R&D work done for these toys....so it's just a matter of taking PO deposits like they always have and just produce in the quantities needed to justify their expenses to develop it so far....they claim to have their own manufacturing facilities so it just makes no sense to need a Kickstarter to be able to release these.....it all just seems shady to me....- 2198 replies
