Everything is more or less very easy to get these days....this one to me does not feel as special as the original 1/55 VT-1...actually nothing since the Yamato VF-1 V1 actually feels like anything special for me....it's probably a combination of nostalgia and the difficulty in acquiring the original 1/55 outside of Japan during the mid 80's....back then there was no internet or instant payments via Paypal....we had mail order catalogs and paid via checks and money orders and somehow it worked! That's how it was and we liked it....we loved it!

House of the Dragon.....GoT Prequel series
jvmacross replied to jvmacross's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
understood, but the end results cannot be different....for example...if a specific character dies....how can he/she be both dead and alive....I guess what I am trying to say is that in the end, based on what has been written, their clearly is a side that 'wins'...regardless of what happens before 'they' get to sit on the Iron Throne- 178 replies

House of the Dragon.....GoT Prequel series

Isn't the entire story and how it all plays out already determined? It's not like GoT where the ending was not really following a book...or am I missing something?- 178 replies

The Acolyte - Disney Plus Star Wars Series

And just to make sure no one forgets...everything....unlimately leads to the sequel trilogy.... Even the post-Skywalker Saga by default will just technically be a new 'Skywalker' Saga thanks to one Rey Skywalker.... Star Wars needs to time skip a thousand or more generations back or forward.... -
It's probably the "English" label....guessing other non-Japanese markets may have similar stickers in different languages....the other stickers are the same across both Japanese and international releases...unless Bandai takes it to another level and produces different colored "Macross" license stickers to denote which market the item is designated to be sold in... Still...it is just the box....there is nothing to stop someone from buying an international version and swapping into it their damaged Japanese purchased version....then claiming the international item arrived damaged....so far there is no evidence that there are differences between the actual toys....at least not that I am aware of...

Is Red Hulk bigger/stronger than the Hulk we have seen in the MCU so far? I have no background knowledge of any of these characters...so just hoping for a fun spectacle....- 61 replies

What about the "bluefin" sticker mentioned in a previous post as being a requirement for processing a claim via Bandai support...does your packaging have such a sticker applied to it?
-
I'd prefer if they just move on to something new, never done by anyone else...if M7 licenses are more affordable for them maybe a VA-3...or complete the Fire Bomber trio....
-
I guess it depends if the non-Japanese production allotment is actually being manufactured separately from the Japanese run...I kind of doubt it though...but who knows... Actually...we have already had a few WWM releases....has anyone done any comparisons to the Japanese and "international" toys? In particular the color used in the plastics? Bottomline....if Bandai is saying "screw you" to anyone seeking help that bought their products and is not from Japan....then you are free to "screw them"...lol
-
Bandai seems to be going out of their way to make sure they do not support overseas customers...can't say I blame them if the goal is to make non-Japanese consumers buy directly from their own markets.... With that said, I feel your item would definitely have been replaced had you been a Japanese consumer... The HG-BW deal just legitimized Bandai's stance on never needing to provide support to their "overseas" customers...but it still doesn't make it right for the Japanese shops where we buy these items from to not support us...Bandai doesn't know who their items are being sold to once the Japanese stores take delivery of the items....so these shops not providing support is lame as it always has been....but we have all somehow collectively accepted this for decades... Funny....now that there is a legit way of buying Macross in the US....how would Bandai know if you bought a perfect one via a US retailer and a bad one from a Japanese store and did a switcheroo? I'm thinking that link you were provided with may come in handy for some....

Bandai seems to include "battle damage" gimmicks in some Macross releases?

The "fists" can be folded into the arms to maintain as much "perfect transformation" as possible...have not tried with the other hands but they just seem too big to fit inside the arms....can check later... IMO...the lack of clicking during transformation makes it more enjoyable and stress free....It is my favorite to transform of all the recent modern DX Macross VF-1's...once placed into each mode it is very solid....I don't have a scale but it seems as heavy as a 1/55 to me...good amount of metal but guessing it must be mostly internal...
-
I still have yet to open any of my VF-1D's....in fact, the only DX's I have opened were the recent 'Mechanic' VF-1S and only to take out the SSP, a previous VF-1S Hikaru that I bought used to keep my others sealed, a GBP armor set, and one of my original Hikaru VF-1Js.....the DX's do nothing for me, it's probably because they are 1/48, which was cool back when Yamato first released their 1/48 VF-1, but then that scale became obsolete when 1/60 became the 'standard' VF scale....I'll probably end up keeping my VT-1's sealed for now... ....unless another Bandai'd situation comes to light!
-
Me too....but more importantly I want to see how Bandai will handle damage claims outside of Japan....hopefully they don't throw retailers under the bus and make them eat the losses...
-
Too soon to tell....the items that are part of the WWM release outside of Japan have yet to arrive....if those arrive damaged and the purchasers have no way to replace parts or exchange entire units....then yes, they would be SOL.... Right now you have a situation that has existed since collectors have been buying Macross merch straight from Japan....you buy at your own risk or at most, buy with the hope that the Japanese retailer you purchased from is willing to be your middleman in working directly with the manufacturer to get your item repaired or replaced.....nothing new here....all WWM does is make it so you can buy Macross directly from your home country....with the assumption being that you should be able to now have some level of consumer protection that was not available before...in theory.... We will find out soon enough...

The Acolyte - Disney Plus Star Wars Series
jvmacross replied to jvmacross's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah...I think I read somewhere that the producer's intent was to make it a stand-alone....too bad it chose to stand in quicksand! Guess I'm a glutton for punishment...but if they end on a high note...like everyone that has direct knowledge of what happened on Witch Mountain and of the not-Sithlord...all die at the hands of either of the Sithlords supposedly active during this time....maybe I would want a second season....but it would have to make a time skip to when he recruits a young Palpatine....but then again...what am I thinking...they'd frakk that up too.... -

I was thinking about how these witches, or at least the horned witch, seem to "vanish" and then apparently can "possess" their target.....what exactly is going on there? Do they literally become one with the Force...errr...Thread...and their physical body gets suspended until needed again? If so....wouldn't that be exactly the kind of "Unnatural" ability Darth Sidious has been shopping for ever since he supposedly (since now nothing can be just taken at face value or logically assumed) killed his own Master? The ability to just assume control of another's body would solve all of his "immortality" problems....surely there would be any number of "volunteers" ready and willing to give up their bodies for the Emperor....no need to bother with cloning either...and apparently even the "M" count is preserved or can be easily manipulated.... It just muddles up everything that has come afterwards...in terms of the in-universe chain of events.... Maybe the story should have been the Sith trying to gain the knowledge that only these witches had and their attempts at trying to flee from him (them?) and keeping their "secrets" from the Sith.....in the end perhaps one succumbs and joins the Sith but only manages to share the ability for artificially creating a "Vergence" before getting killed....and not sharing the secret for transference into another's body.....thus the Sith not having the total package needed for immortality... When the show was first announced I thought....finally...a show just about the Sith....no Jedi....but nope -

...none of that matters anymore or ever did...not when there is a Not-Sith running around that took out several Jedi without breaking a sweat...Ki Adi Mundi said there hasn't been Sith sightings for a Millenium.....nothing about Space Witches....this show is pointless unless they resolve how the existence of "Sith" was "correctly" surmised at the time of the Prequels Era....and I put the word correctly in quotes because the Jedi were oblivious to the Sith's survival until this sh!show was released...this is the Disney Way...to explain stuff that know one was asking to be explained....then making things worse... Oh well...It all comes down to the final episode.... -
So far AmiAmi = Perfect, "bent antenna free" DX YF-21's...

Panel lining looks the same...the "weathering" actually just looks like a diecast toy that has been handled for several years...looks like it just has paint rubbed off especially by the bottom of the legs...poorly executed....but it's just a prototype so hopefully they can make it look decent upon final version....

With one episode to go....I don't see how this mess can be redeemed.... For me...I don't feel floating hippie Jedi had a good enough reason to kill himself...leave the order, probably...but to off himself? I understand why Kelnacca self exiled himself...but I think leaving the order would have been a reasonable way of dealing with the "guilt" too... And Indara...well, she did what she had to to protect her team...still....it was a lame reason for all of them to have perished at the same time.... I guess reaveling the "truth" from a certain point of view to the council was barely an inconvenience.....just need to find out how Sol gets killed....guessing at the hands of off-brand Nebula...that way she is the only one left with full knowledge of the Dark Side user.....or she herself will also need to be killed... Hopefully, she runs into the show's real Sith Master in pursuit of Darth Manny and Darth Plagueis does them both in...leaving Osha as the last person with knowledge of the Sith....then she can either end up as the next Sith apprentice or simply dead.... Wait...I forgot...Mae is still tied up by the creepy Sol...she is also a witness...so she has to get killed too....no way both Sister can survive this crap.....right? It'll all be over soon....
