  1. Nice...thanks for confirming...I bought the book with my Amazon rewards and got it for free....it's a nice book, I really liked the Megaroad illustrations... I'll post some pics up later
  2. Will probably look pretty good MISB...
  3. jvmacross

    Hi-Metal R

DYRL 40th just around the corner....don't stop believing!
  4. jvmacross

    Hi-Metal R

The only thing that is certain is that it will get released before a Tomahawk or Phalanx...
  5. This is a Kitz Concept toy thread....there is a thread to discuss and reminisce about Southern Cross model kits and other vintage SC here... https://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/28681-no-love-for-southern-cross/page/39/#comment-1679920
  6. Yes, we only got Minmay.... Bandai tried it with the HCMs but it still wasn't enough...nor were they particularly useful for 1/72 dioramas let alone 1/55...
  7. If the VF-1EX is in the book, it seems unlikely anything would differ between the general release and the SDCC release...perhaps the holdup was due to receiving more POs than anticipated? Still waiting for actual confirmation from someone with both versions....
  8. But that would defeat the whole point of Takatoku trying to make their customers think of these toys as "super real diecast/plastic scale model & high technolgy" to be customized per your own specifications...
  9. I think I could live with the modex goof ups...the incorrect paint bothers me more so... Not sure if it is the lighting in your pic, but the blue on Max seems darker than the initial release... I do like the compact packaging and am glad they still come configured in Battroid mode...
  10. Was off for the remainder of the year so figured I'd go see this... Not particularly a Godzilla fan, but this movie definitely stood on it's own without needing any knowledge of the "lore"...really enjoyed the spectacle and the story... Felt bad for the main character during most of the film, it just seemed like he was faced with one tragedy after another, but glad it all worked out in the end..... And him living with his "pretend" wife for all those years, in what seemed like a platonic relationship, reminded me of that scene in DYRL where Focker and the rest of Skull Squadron find out he didn't do "anything" with Minmay during the time he was trapped with her within the bowels of the SDF-1....it was probably the most unbelievable part of the entire film and that includes Godzilla itself! LOL
  11. Who knows...with Bandai's renewed interest in SD via the Tiny Sessions line...maybe they will branch onto other show mechs... Looking at the pic of that SD Orguss again....looks more like it was to be part of the "Paro" line than the "Hi-Compact Line"
  12. I'm in it for the book...looking forward to it... other than the RPG books...I think it will only be the 3rd dedicated M2 book ever published...so it's been a while
  13. So now that we have been playing guitar hero and Rock band games....I will now introduce the other "music" game we played at the Dave and Buster's arcade...DDR! So I dusted off the old PS2 and bought some games....and I am wondering...is there an adapter that will allow the PS2 dance mats to work on the PS3? Most of the webs seems to say there is no such adapter available? Anyone get this specific configuration to work?
  14. That's a good idea...
  15. Well, looks like we are back to the toy looking worse than the boxart....40+ years of toy design advances down the tubes! Way to go KC!
  16. Would the current SDFM licenses tied up with HG for non-Japanese markets keep such an endeavor from happening? The original "character" design are from 1982 and have been revised several times...I wonder if HG would have no legal grounds to stand on if the animation actually changed from what they currently say their license covers? Although, other than MtF paint scheme changes....I would prefer all mecha to remain mostly the same...so even with that in place, I would imagine HG would want their cut...
  17. I have say I do not watch too much, if any anime...I do make it a point to go through at least one viewing of the new Macross shows as they are released....the old stuff can't compete for the most part with the more recent valk fighter combat scenes....so they have that going for them...I would really like to see some VF-1 action updated to the newer non-cel dependent scequences....the closest would be the Macross Fever sequences...
  18. Just merely following the original frame by frame, would be enough to make it better than any other Macross series that has come after it....adding Mikimoto as character designer woud also be a win
  19. Here is sales data for the last six months for Yamato 1/48 items.... https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/closedsearch/closedsearch?p=やまと+マクロス+1%2F48&va=やまと+マクロス+1%2F48&b=1&n=60 You will see the low-average-high prices at the top of the page.... In general...the closer to MIB, the higher the value... The weathered VF-1S Focker is the one fetching the highest prices currently... As far as LOOSE values...in general...you can expect to receive 30% less than a boxed and complete item...if you then have loose item with missing or damaged of any kind (yellowing)...you can start subtracting 10% for each missing part or damage... As always, YMMV and it all will ultimately depend on your customer's willingness to pay what you are asking... I have no idea on i-men...probably look at past sales on ebay... As for V1 Yamato VF-1's...they are the forgotten Macross toys...only die-hard completists will have any interest...it's definitely a buyer's market for those....MIB, they usually go for 100usd or less....loose would be much less... Here is a link for the past 6 months of "1/60" sales...you will need to manually figure out the average for "V1" prices as the link just lumps all Yamato 1/60 VF-1's together.... https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/closedsearch/closedsearch?p=やまと+マクロス+1%2F60&ei=UTF-8&exflg=&va=やまと+マクロス+1%2F60&b=1&n=60 One final note....make sure to add proxy and international shipping cost to your prices as that is what anyone trying to buy directly from Japan would have to also consider when buying straight from Japan...
  20. Are the colors on the leg stabilizers painted correctly for the Max and Kakizaki -1A's you received?
  21. I'd rather have a SDFM TV remake....
  22. Looks like it...wonder why the book took longer to release
  23. I think this and an old graphic novel are the last Go Nagai stuff I have left.... I only collect Macross these days....
