Harmony Gold & Toynami releasing DYRL? Toys
bandit29 replied to Duke Togo's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Sure. I own the Region 2 DVD and FX bootleg whats another disc? I'd assume that all the legal stuff would be resolved by then. As long as its unaltered and the quality is good I'll buy it. Let the pros handle it, Bandai or Geneon. Animeigo did a good job on the series but their distribution sucks. DYRL is too much of a classic to remain hidden on the internet or barely found in retail stores. Knowing HG they'd use ADV again. Which can be hit & miss. -
Harmony Gold & Toynami releasing DYRL? Toys

It's funny, because no matter how much we dislike HG's business practices, I've never seen anyone here deny the fact that the one thing HG always had the right to do was distribute the SDF: Macross TV shows. Which is exactly what the AnimeIgo Boxset is. The problem really lies in the question of whether or not it was intended to let whomever Tatsunoko distribute with mangle the show itself into something different. its happened here plenty and other anime boards I've been to.. No one brings it up that much anymore since all the legal stuff has started but there are some Macross fans still in denial. -

no one wants to admit to owning it I have 3 copies. Agent... I think/hope we are talking about the "rights" and not the actual product I own the rights to Clash of the Bionoids. I'm currently collecting all old VHS copies so I can burn them out of existence. So in the future when someone asks "whats Clash of Bioinoids?" I can say "never heard of that one, probably just some rumor". -
Harmony Gold & Toynami releasing DYRL? Toys

Very true. Seems like people are panicking lol This could go the way of the Macross 7 Trash release or something has been finally resolved. Just because a deal(if there is one) hasn't been announced on Macrossworld doesn't mean it doesn't exist. If this leads to a region 1 DYRL DVD (unaltered of course and legalities straightened out) so be it. I doubt many here wouldn't buy it. Even the folks that scream boycott HG that have their Macross boxset sitting on their shelves.... -

Also there was not an actually seen Super Kakizaki VF-1A either. So much for research from Toymani lol but the new Macross PS2 had the ability to play as Kakizaki in his DYRL scheme(with and without armor). ALso a pic on RT.com shows a Hikaru VF-1S -
Me. Except for a few ramblings about the recently released RT remastered and who owned what footage etc.. I can't stand this stuff. and 91WhiskeyM6, grow up. No one needs to be sending anyone at HG hate mail over a 20 year old cartoon. Maybe finally something has been solved.

heres the post from Tom Bateman at RT.com. Note he says First series http://www.robotech.com/community/forum/re...5227&forumid=23

huh? what's up with this? I wonder if the two sides have come to terms? Also there is no Super Kaka VF-1. I wonder if DYRL MPCs are on the way... oh boy just when everything was fairly quiet....

ugh I guess these are just made from whatever plastic is lying around. This one is pretty hideous.

Star Wars OT on DVD - Official - Sept 21st
bandit29 replied to Blaine23's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
They were around on ebay a few years ago. Ebay usually pulled the auctions. Mine is a rip of the LD THX version. Original version not the special edition. Quality is ok. I don't even know if these exist anymore. -

morons. screw them. No thanks. I don't have a probelm with him redoing his movies but just make the originals available to those who want them. I'm glad I kept my HK DVD boot of the original Empire Strikes Back. -
Am I the only MW'er that posted their photo?

Why theres no women here? lol I just posted a picture of my 7 month old siberian husky who's about 50-60 lbs. His name is Bandit. -
ugh what a suck fest last night. 5 matches IIRC? too much talking. and of course HHH/HBK screwin Benoit. I hope it will change again by the time Wrestlemania 20 comes around. At least Benoit beat Grandpa Flair. As of now there is nothing set up with RVD for WM 20. Maybe what happened last night will start something. Where do I send my hate email about this Jericho/Trish/Christain crap. Unless its a screw job of sorts? lol

I got mine the other day. Here's one reason why its probably so expensive. The assembly. I'll take a guess this was done by hand. Also each piece on him is an individual piece. The armor is all seperate pieces. They are attached with straps with buckles. There are no molded on pieces on him like say an action figure. He has pleather(fake leather) pants, straps and his crossbow pouch etc. Plus he has real metal chains and his metal arm is metal. Put together with screws and springs. Also come with an extra head and crossbow. He's pretty well balanced even with his sword. I'll take some close up pics when I have a chance. Was he too much? Ya but I came into some extra money and Guts is one the few male characters I really like. Plus I'm sick of Macross stuff lol.

No, there was never a Movie Edition International Version release in Japan per se. However, there WAS an International Version release of the OVA series in Japan, which was basically the Manga dub with Japanese subtitles. Except none of that matters now because that was back in the LD/VHS days. The R2 Macross Plus OVA DVDs have both English and Japanese audio. Japanese subs. The Bandai/Emotion R2 Macross Plus movie Edition DVD is pretty good. It looks a helluva alot better than mangle's piss poor VHS dump. Video is nice and clean. No subs and no chapter search though. Extras are just the Macross Plus game edtion trailer, Macross PlusMovie/M7 Galaxy is calling me trailer and some shots from the theater program IIRC.

yesasia.com has the 12 inch Guts figure for 209.99 http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx/pid-...c/section-toys/ I guess it qualifies for free shipping. I've never used them before so I don't know how their service is.

I bought mine from HLJ. Its discontinued on there now. It should be here soon. Normally I don't go nuts for toys but I had to have this one. Art of War puts out some killer stuff just really expensive. http://www.art-of-war.co.jp/ The God Hand statues look great but they are nearly 30,000 yen. Hopefully a PVC version will become availible

I'd say A & B. I have 6 1/48s, four with FPs. And I'm a little tired of the VF-1 and Macross in general. I have other hobbys and interests that I've negelected. Plus The money could be spent better on a new refrigirator. 1/48's don't keep beer cold in the summertime.

Ya I don't really care for the YF-21 FP. I only bought it because I sold my original. The color is wrong. I like the color just not on the YF-21. Its supposed to be blue not purple. Fighter is the best mode. Battroid mode is ok and Gerwalk mode is a mess. I stiffened up the hips by applying epoxy to the ball joints.

lol 499.00 for the 25th anniversary set. What an idiot.
-
Yes. The exchange rate stinks right now. 8-12 months ago it would have been about 10-12.00 cheaper. The yen price is the same(19800).
-
As of right now, no. The Max no and the Millia a very big maybe. I swore the 1/48 Hikaru VF-1J would be my last 1/48. I'm gonna try to stick to that. If I decide to buy a Milia it won't be for a few months down the road. I aleady have 6 1/48s(4 with FPs) I've reached VF-1 burnout. I'm more interested in the 1/60 Q-rau and that I will buy without hesitation. Also I just bought the 12 inch Gutsu the Black Swordsman figure from Art of War/Yamato and that was 19,800 yen. So funds are low lol
