That's why I think Nintendo knows they are a gamers second console. From what I've read Nintendo makes more of a profit than Sony or Microsoft's game divisions. But Nintendo still can't compete with the big 2 since, like you said, they don't have the financial backing of huge parent companies. I wonder if Nintendo would ever swallow their pride and become a third party developer, like Sega.

It's not that they came unprepared... Nintendo has a bad habit of doing this. They don't bring the stuff that people want to see to E3, and instead will hold their own mini-show later, after they're comfortable that the competition is locked into their designs, to show off actual games, tech demos, hardware specs, and the controller. Then Nintendo must be comfortable in being the little guy or the console that is a gamers second choice. How can they not show anything for the Revolution at the worlds biggest show. Really disappointing. I want Nintendo to do well this time around. They've done nothing but let me down since after the SNES.

So Nintendo's only selling point of the Revolution right now is that you can download 10-20 year old games..great...while it is a cool idea it really sounds like they came to E3 unprepared.

That's a work truck. Most construction guys I know use Ford 450-550 to haul stuff. I don't think anyone would be buying that F-650 as a passenger vehicle.

I haven't watched everything yet but for the PS2 I liked Okami and Devil Kings (Sengoku Basara). Okami is a breath of fresh air. Ya some of the dialogue is pretentious and annoying but Oshii's still the king of dialogue like that.

I had the opposite reaction. I thought all of the visuals were great but the story was kinda lame. Nothing really new or original about it. A very shallow story but then again this is an action anime film. None of them are ever really deep. Overall I did like the movie though.

Did we really need another version of the GBA? Especially since, according to reports, the screen is smaller than the GBA SP. Maybe young kids will buy this. I know this old man won't lol

Not for me. I hate FPS, MMORPGs and RTS games lol. Enough with the WWII FPS games. Plus I don't have a good enough PC to play most of the new games and I don't feel like upgrading. PS3 for me. I most likely won't buy at launch though. X-BOX 360?eh maybe... Nintendo Revolution....no. My nephew will probably have one so I can check his out.

I hope Nintendo gets their act together this time around.

Well... a proven game has an audience and that audience is who you can count on to buy the system. Since the system is extremely beta at this point, if they were trying to shove a new game down the audience's throat, the only thing the audience would have to tempt them would be Sony's "word" that it was a good game or a show off a decent trailer. And we all now that kickass trailers can be made for suckass games. Also, by not trying to push new games, Sony isn't tying the success or failure of the PS3 to games that might perform poorly and they avoid having their system linked with a game that everyone hates. Returning franchises are pretty much the ONLY reason I'll spend my money on something like this. Basically, all Sony needs to tell me is that Grand Theft Auto will be coming on the PS3... and I'll buy a PS3. It's that simple to me. Controller looks fine to me, btw. I know, but gee, how far can you go with making new games for the same old franchises? I want new poo, I don't want to play the next generation with games from the old generation with prettier graphics I agree with Abombz!! Its time for some new blood. But of course Sony is going to use existing franchises to get people to buy the PS3. They did it with PS2 and the PSP. Hopefully some new innovative titles will be mixed throughout the launch. Tekken 6? Gran Turismo 5? Neither of those two series has evolved much. Especially Tekken, which I love. Another GTA game? yawn snore zzz The PS3 controller looks alright. Button layout is basically the same. Which I like.

Ya Chrono Trigger was around 75.00 IIRC. I usually don't drop 40.00-50.00 on game right away. If I have some extra money or ebay money I will. With so many games coming out the prices usually drop in a few months to make room for the new games. That's when I get them.

Is the Chirico figure out in the US? I haven't seen it yet?

Nintendo's going to have to do a lot more than hint at the size of the Revolution to win me back. As in, demonstrate that they have more third-party support, and show me that the Revolution won't be as gimmicky (or worse) than the DS. Ya same here. Nintendo has really lost me. Everything released after the SNES, except for the GBA/GBASP has been disappointing. I wouldn't be surprised that in two years the DS will no longer be supported.

I think we all figured that out lol Yamato will probably put limited edition(even though its not) on the box figure that fans will gobble them up. I don't mean to offend/insult anyone...but at times Macross fans(like myself) can be easy marks... Yamato knows we're hungry. I'll be buying at least 2.

A few clips of the new Madden, Tiger Woods, Tony Hawk and some other games. While graphically impressive they are nothing I'd buy or rent.

Which is why Saturn was #1 with the Saturn and Dreamcast... ... First release does not equal the #1 spot, the PS2 was put into that situation because of the breakthrough of the DVD player and the backwards compatibility. Saturn came after PS, at least in America. ... Wait... I don't remember if the rushed "advance release" was before or after PS launch. Either way, there were so many things wrong with the Saturn's US launch that it isn't even funny. Always makes me cry to think about it. And the PS2's DVD player was a joke. You could spend half as much and get a standalone DVD player that worked better anyways. I did. I realize it was a selling point in Japan, where there weren't any cheap DVD players at the time, but I don't believe for a moment that it was really a relevant feature anywhere else. IIRC the Saturn came out few months before the PS in America. I think it was 400.00 when it came out. IIRC it came out with little to no advertising. It suddenly showed up at Babbages and Toys R Us.

Same here but a little interest. Ya I'm kinda the sameway. I've been a gamer since the early 80's. If anything I think the X-BOX 360 is coming too early. They're rushing ahead with this because Sony is coming out with the PS3 soon. MS learned the hard way that being second or third out of the gate just sucks. Sony's PS2 had sole claim to "advanced gaming platform" for too long by the time the XBox had come out. They have no intentions of repeating that mistake. I realize that but the PS3 is rumored to be coming out late 2006. I still think its a tad early in the cycle(November 2005) but its timed right for the holiday season of course. and that XBOX 360 special sucked in typical MTV fashion. More lame games from EA..yawn
