Exactly my plan - if I buy one. But while the Yamato might have a built-in market from rainbow canopy fans, if the Arcadia is bad, who will want to buy it?

I'm hesitant because I already have one. I'd be getting one without a slight leg blemish, with a box, but otherwise the same. Unless someone is a huge fan of the rainbow canopy and would rather have my Yamato than this new release?

The product photos have all the markings they'd need in order to re-use them. Not that that's different from a Yamato release... EDIT: There is a pretty good argument against there ever being a Premium Finish Version, though. Yamato and Arcadia have continuously re-relased the Hikaru and Roy VF-1S toys with different gimmicks - sometimes with stands, sometimes with flashlights, sometimes just for fun. Few of these gimmicks have trickled down into the regular, non Hikaru/Roy VF-1S releases. They may not think there's a market for it.

How to destroy the M&M secondary market: Announce a M&M re-release with something really minor that's better than the originals. Option parts would be enough. Open a very small number of pre-orders. Pre-order madness has finally come to Arcadia. This will shock people who thought that the pre-order window would be long or that there would be plenty available at release. Every week, trickle a bunch of pre-order slots in, enough so that scalpers, the people who missed out on the pre-order, and the fence sitters you've spurred to action have all picked up pre-orders. On release ensure an ample supply of units. Put the item on sale after an unreasonably short amount of time. Yamato prices or lower. Two months after release, announce a premium finish version. Rinse and repeat the pre-order tactics. Two months after the premium finish version has been released, announce a special limited premium collectible version with some extra rainbow canopies you found in a box somewhere and Tenjin box art.

I'm sorely tempted to get these. I have the Yamato versions, but I purchased them second-hand without boxes. My Miriya has a paint chip on the leg - not somewhere that's rubbed by transformation either. If these are the premium finish ver, you may see mine on the FS/T thread soon. Along with my VF-1S Hikaru; I have the premium finish of that coming too.

Like how whoever is behind these knockoffs has been paying attention. Straight to the M&M knockoffs. I'll sit this out, as I already have a second-hand set, sans boxes, from Yamato. There is a decent chance I'd double-dip if the real thing ever came from Arcadia, though.
