I just got my Roy VF-1S today. I totally LOVE the way this thing looks. The bright white on yellow and black is exactly how I remember Roy's Valk and it looks stunning to me. Out of all my Valks I might be the most happy with how this one looks.

I'm so kicking myself for not buying one of the Max variants. That's a pretty colored bird.

I finally got mine early this morning. They combined my VF-1S with the Hi-Metal VF-1J order and gave me the 15% shipping discount. Just needs to ship now. The waiting really is the hardest part...

Amiami seems to have completely removed all record of any of my pre-orders there. Three of them no longer seem to exist.

Thanks for the review. It sounds like a pretty cool toy. I wish Amiami hadn't screwed me out of my pre-order. I'll have to find one of these sometime soon.

Wow, cracked? That sucks man. I guess I should check mine to see if I have one too. I noticed my left wing seems a little loose and will easily fall if it gets tapped. I didn't notice any discoloration on mine. I seem to be getting pretty lucky with all of my valks so far. No shoulder exploding on my Hikaru VF-1A DYRL or VF-1J with the armor (yet), and both of the VF-11C's have legs that stay connected to the body.

Finally got my Gamlin yesterday. It's a lot darker than the photos made it look. I was very happy to find that out. Pretty cool looking. Now that Max 22 is calling to me... ugh, I don't have any more shelf space to keep these things on!

Well never mind. Amiami decided, although I preordered, that they didn't have the quantity of items and apparently canceled it. Or, rather, the pre-order had an error and then disappeared from my cart.

That's pretty cool. Too bad it can't transform. I want to see a Giant Playboy Bunny on the Heatshield in Battroid mode.

Geeze, I got screwed. I Fed Ex'ed to Albuquerque, NM and the damn thing is holed up in Anchorage for whatever stupid reason.

Holy crap, where do you live? Mine went out the 23rd and it's still STUCK in customs.

I'm still waiting for mine to be delivered. Will let everyone know what I think once it arrives unless somebody else here beats me to the review. That crouching position is pretty cool looking. And the shots of Hikaru and Max back to back makes the Max Valk look pretty cool.

I wish I'd ordered a Max as well now... that's a nice shade of blue.

I'm waiting on Fed Ex to deliver a VF-22 Sturmvogel and a second VF-11C (hopefully with legs that remain attached in Battroid) from HLJ. Estimated delivery, Monday.

Excellent job. While it's a bummer I have neither the money or space for something like this I highly encourage you to keep taking fancy/detailed pics so we can all enjoy vicarously through you.

I do seem to recall there being red triangles on the shoulders of Roy's Valk as well. It's not hard evidence for Roy's valk but if you check out pretty much all of the other Yamato TV Valk's they have Red triangle's on the shoulders. Hikaru's 1J, Max's 1A and 1J, Milia's 1J. I think pretty much all of them have it, I don't have Kakizaki's or the CF's but I do recall the animation having red triangles on those fighters as well. I'd bet Roy's was done the same.

I'm curious about the engineering and how well the toy will turn out because I'm hoping they'll make other variants of it. However, I've never liked the look (especially the garish color scheme) of the Valk and really don't want to buy one. I'd be much happier if they made an S type in the blue color scheme like the 1/100 Hi-Metals. Still, it would be cool to see if they make this 19 work better than their Mac Plus version. Maybe they'll return to the older design and create something that works better.

I only just got into collecting Valk's with Yamato's V2 1/60 line. The first valk I got was the DYRL Hikaru 1A with fast packs. To be honest, I didn't like it much. The thing that really bothered me was the crotch was too hard to manipulate to warrant transforming much and it would always fall open with the fast packs attached. Several months later I was still itching for more valks (I do love the Macross TV Valks best too.) I saw they were releasing multiple version of Max's valks. I decided to get his TV 1A, 1J with fast packs and his 1SD from DYRL (which has a functioning crotch system so that's where Hikaru's fast packs now reside.) Since then I started collecting more of the VF-1's, got Milia's 1J, the Low Vis one, the Elint Seeker, the GPB (which has not exploded on me as of yet.) I liked the way the VF-11B was designed but disliked the color scheme, ended up with a VF-11C which I love to death. Like Roy, though, the VF-19 is the one that I don't care for as much. I always liked the fighter and Gerwalk modes but didn't care for the color scheme until the Double Nuts version came out. I decided to get one, the fighter mode was kind of cool except it didn't quite fit together right. The Gerwalk mode looked good except the back half is floppy and doesn't attach in any way. Then I switched to Battroid... good Lord, it doesn't hold together at all. The other valks I can't turn every which way and they remain intact, the VF (YF, rather) is in pieces just picking it up. Quite a bummer to me as well.

It looked like that gunpod was jammed in that battlepod's crotch.

Damn, I kinda always hated that color scheme but at the same time I love the way this toy looks!

I just got mine the other day. It's great looking for a statue. Too bad it's not a little more articulated. I'm still getting one with the heavy missile pods when they're released because they look great but I'd love more articulation. A 1/60 scale would be great but it would be HUGE. I wouldn't have the shelf space for something like that.
